Book Escoge Perdonar del Dolor a la Esperanza Choosing Forgiveness Moving from Hurt to Hope

Download or read book Escoge Perdonar del Dolor a la Esperanza Choosing Forgiveness Moving from Hurt to Hope written by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth and published by Editorial Portavoz. This book was released on 2023-12-19 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. He visto cómo destruye amistades de mucho tiempo. It''s time to take back your life and your freedom. There are no magic words or secret formulas for forgiveness. But there are biblical principles that can help you break free from bitterness and pain. In Choosing Forgiveness, celebrated teacher Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth delves into God''s word to uncover the promises and expose the myths of forgiveness. Discover specific strategies for putting God''s grace and mercy into practice, forgiving others as God has forgiven you. Break free: choose forgiveness. You may still remember the instant you were offended, the exact moment of the day, or the look on the other person''s face, when your hopes and dreams were dashed by someone you trusted. And since then your life has come to a standstill, sabotaged by resentment that you have not been able to overcome or dreams of revenge that have left you numb or indifferent towards life. Perhaps the things of everyday life and relationships with other people have left you with a knot in your stomach and a hurting heart. I have felt compelled to write this book because I know that many believers face the ripple effects of unforgiveness in one way or another on a daily basis. It is something that affects men and women, adults and youth, married and single, rich and poor. It can be the response to unspeakable offenses, some of which can span decades, or to momentary insults and grievances that, while seemingly microscopic, hurt. I have seen unforgiveness wreak havoc in marriages, churches, workplaces and ministries. I have seen it destroy long-standing friendships. The author of Hebrews tells us: "Take heed lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up hinder you, and by it many be defiled" (Heb. 12:15). My deepest prayer is that you may "come into the grace of God"; that you may release every hostage you hold captive in the prison of your mind and emotions... and that in doing so you may also find your freedom. This is God''s plan for you. And it is God''s will for your life.

Book Make Room for God

Book excerpt: If you feel lost in our cultural wilderness, in clutter, collecting, consuming, working, worrying and waiting for something better, I wrote this book for you. I have been lost, too. God has shown me a way out. This book is a bit of bright orange paint pointing to the path toward home. Let's walk it together. —From the Introduction Susan Rowland shares with us her time- and experienced-tested methods that will help us simplify and unclutter our lives, and most importantly, our spirits. She tackles everything from how to let go of the extra stuff we just can't seem to live without to the feelings of discontent, disconnect, anger, jealousy, abandonment and bitterness that seem to equally possess us. In five comprehensive sections—Self-Care Without Clutter, An Environment Without Clutter, Productivity Without Clutter, A Spirit Without Clutter and A God Without Clutter—Rowland takes us on her own journey of self-discovery and self-simplifying. She reveals how she de-toxed from the societal pressure to do constantly and to have insatiably, and most importantly, how, in the process of letting go of so much "clutter," she became stronger, healthier and more spiritually cleansed--with plenty of room for God.

Book excerpt: A best seller in Latin America in the 1980s, this novel of life in fifteenth-century Spain depicts a world in which both the Moors and the Jews are under attack. This is the formative period of the phenomenon known today as Crypto-Judaism, and Aridjis's widely praised book, now available for the first time in an American paperback edition, will find a broad audience among readers fascinated by this aspect of Jewish history. "In 1492, the Catholic rulers, Ferdinand and Isabella, expelled the Jews from Spain. In Homero Aridjis' novel, the great saga of the expulsion comes to life with both historical and poetic resonance. A great Mexican poet, Aridjis embraces history and fiction with the warmth and insight of the lyrical vision."--Carlos Fuentes "In this highly readable novel which deals with a special and painful chapter in history, Homero Aridjis combines erudition, sensitivity and poetic imagination. I recommend it warmly."--Elie Wiesel "A novel of literary subtlety and sensibility. Few contemporary writers have captured so profoundly and with such style this era marked by three essential events: the establishment of the Catholic sovereigns, the expulsion of the Jews from Spain, and the discovery of America."--El País (Madrid) "Among worldwide bestsellers, 1492 is the most similar to Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose; both are concerned with the trials of heretics and the violence employed against the dissident. Aridjis gives an encyclopedic vision of catastrophic times."--La Jornada (Mexico City)
