Dabei wird sowohl das Netz der internationalen Verflechtungen im 18. Jahrhundert als auch die Ausdifferenzierung neuer nationaler Rahmen in Europa berücksichtigt und mit einem amerikanistischen Beitrag überdies eine transatlantische Perspektive eröffnet.
