This book was released on 2017-01-03 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a transformational training course designed to give church leaders of all educational levels the basic biblical interpretation, homiletical, public speaking, and leadership skills necessary to fulfill their role as lay leaders. It provides all of the resources necessary to facilitate class discussions in each of the four learning modules, including recommendations for suggested textbooks, power point presentations, and other class room materials to be distributed to the students as study guides. A church can only go as far as its leaders. When the leadership as a whole grows spiritually, the church also grows spiritually. We grow in the Lord as we learn how to accurately handle the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15; NASB). Focused bible study, enhanced with the proper biblical interpretation skills, provides a much deeper and more thorough understanding of Gods word and thus strengthens our relationship with Him. It also provides the foundation for our theological development and biblical worldview.

Book Discovering and Implementing Effective Leadership Practices in the Leadership Team and Deacon Ministry of First Baptist Church of Gonzales

Download or read book Discovering and Implementing Effective Leadership Practices in the Leadership Team and Deacon Ministry of First Baptist Church of Gonzales written by Christopher T. Irving and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this project is to train and equip the lay leadership and deacon ministry of First Baptist Gonzales in biblical servant leadership principles. The project presents the process of leadership selection, equipping leaders to lead, and focusing leadership to complete the mission of the church. The selected group of deacons and leadership team members of First Baptist Gonzales participated in the project to discern God's call to leadership, His equipping of leadership, and His mission for leadership. The facilitator implemented the project training through twelve sessions. Participants first gained an understanding of the biblical foundations of leadership through a study of Old Testament and New Testament leadership. Then, the group examined modern day leadership principles in light of the biblical foundation established. Finally, participants were able to discern how God equipped them to serve. Many positives came as a result of this project. Several participants were able to return to their ministry teams with a new insight in servant leadership. The ministry team is now in the process of rediscovering its purpose and is being led by a class participant who is leading through service. Finally, First Baptist Gonzales instituted the Divine Servant Award to recognize outstanding achievement in service to the Kingdom of God

Book Developing Training and Equipping Lay Ministers to Serve in Leadership Roles at Small African American Churches

Download or read book Developing Training and Equipping Lay Ministers to Serve in Leadership Roles at Small African American Churches written by Angelia V. Lewis and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis project explores the validity of a ministry training manual for developing, training, and equipping lay ministers at Fredericksburg Missionary Baptist Church. It assumes that if church members have leadership tools, they will use them to become more effective leaders. However, lay ministers often serve in ministry leadership roles without formal training. They should be trained and equipped by church leaders to lead effectively. Therefore, the question that this thesis project ask is, "Will a development and implementation of a leadership training manual equip lay ministers?" The Scripture is the primary literature resource for God’s provision in developing ministry leaders. It is the foundation for growth and creating tools for leadership. Lay ministers of Fredericksburg Missionary Baptist Church were the target group for this study. To validate the assessments, each participant answered interview questions, surveys, and post-seminary questions. Training and equipping lay ministers will enable them to be effective leaders in their roles, especially in small African American Churches, where a senior pastor typically oversees. The five ministry tools that can develop, train, and equip lay ministers are: understanding the call to ministry; second, hands-on training; third, conflict resolution; fourth, decision making; fifth, personal accountability. This research thesis project provides a ministry training manual for this church and can be utilized by other churches to develop lay ministers.
