Eleven discipleship group members utilized a six-session equipping curriculum that yielded a statistically significant improvement in the participants’ knowledge, confidence, and motivation for discipleship group leadership. The equipping curriculum taught the participants the biblical foundations for discipleship and equipped them with practical group leadership tools. The curriculum could be utilized in similar ministries to develop discipleship group leaders in an existing discipleship group ministry.

The ministry team is now in the process of rediscovering its purpose and is being led by a class participant who is leading through service. Finally, First Baptist Gonzales instituted the Divine Servant Award to recognize outstanding achievement in service to the Kingdom of God
