At twenty years old, Enok had experienced the dangers of life working at sea and chose to join his parents, Gregorius and Marianne in moving to the USA. Left behind in Nordfjord, Norway, was his sweetheart Rasmina Johansdatter Hunskår. Enok convinced Rasmina to join him two years later in Minnesota. In 1877, they were married in Severance township, Sibley County, Minnesota.Eleven children were born in this family, four dying in infancy. The Enok Loftness family members lived their lives in Minnesota. This book provides a glimpse into the life of rural immigrants and how these Norwegian descendants made their way in the new country.
