Book Natural Convection from a Horizontal Heat Sink Numerical Simulation Using Fluent 19 2

Download or read book Natural Convection from a Horizontal Heat Sink Numerical Simulation Using Fluent 19 2 written by Hesham Khalil and published by Fluent Tutorials. This book was released on 2019-03-02 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Natural convection is a phenomenon occurs when heat is transferred to a fluid, which raises its temperature and decreases its density and consequently makes it flows upward. This book is a complete tutorial on how to simulate this kind of phenomenon using ANSYS Fluent 19.2. This is applied to a simple application of cooling a small surface using a heat sink. The tutorial starts with creating the 3D domain itself inside ANSYS DesignModeler, then discretizing it (Meshing) in ANSYS Meshing application. After that, the model is defined in Fluent with the appropriate boundary conditions. Finally, the output data is processed in Fluent to see the resulting flow around the heat sink and the temperature distribution in both the fluid and the heat sink itself. This a tutorial for the complete steps required to complete this kind of simulation. It is presented in the form of high-resolution screenshots of the applications' windows which are preceded by a textual description of the steps. Also, some of these screenshots are followed by an explanation of the different choices when seen appropriate.

Book Numerical Simulation of Heat Exchangers

Download or read book Numerical Simulation of Heat Exchangers written by W. J. Minkowycz and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-04-07 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with certain aspects of material science, particularly with the release of thermal energy associated with bond breaking. It clearly establishes the connection between heat transfer rates and product quality. The editors then sharply draw the thermal distinctions between the various categories of welding processes, and demonstrate how these distinctions are translated into simulation model uniqueness. The book discusses the incorporation of radiative heat transfer processes into the simulation model.

Book Thermohydrodynamic Programming and Constructal Design in Microsystems

Download or read book Thermohydrodynamic Programming and Constructal Design in Microsystems written by Tao Dong and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2018-10-20 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thermohydrodynamic Programming and Constructal Design in Microsystems explains the direction of a morphing system configuration that is illustrated by life evolution in nature. This is sometimes referred to as the fourth law of thermodynamics, and was first applied in thermofluidic engineering, with more recent applications in physics and biology. The book specifically focuses on synthetic modeling and constructal optimization in the design of microsystemic devices, which are of particular interest to researchers and practitioners in the sphere of micro- and nanoscale physics, a mechanistically deviation from conventional theory. The book is an important reference resource for researchers working in the area of micro- and nanosystems technology and those who want to learn more about how thermodynamics can be effectively applied at the micro level. Explains how the application of constructal theory can lead to more effective microsystems design Offers an introduction to the fundamentals and application to different flow and heat/mass transport systems Bridges the gap between theoretical design and optimization, from a practical point-of-view
