Book Engine Structures Analysis Software

Download or read book Engine Structures Analysis Software written by National Aeronautics and Space Adm Nasa and published by . This book was released on 2018-11-06 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A component specific modeling software program has been developed for propulsion systems. This expert program is capable of formulating the component geometry as finite element meshes for structural analysis which, in the future, can be spun off as NURB geometry for manufacturing. COSMO currently has geometry recipes for combustors, turbine blades, vanes, and disks. Component geometry recipes for nozzles, inlets, frames, shafts, and ducts are being added. COSMO uses component recipes that work through neutral files with the Technology Benefit Estimator (T/BEST) program which provides the necessary base parameters and loadings. This report contains the users manual for combustors, turbine blades, vanes, and disks. Mcknight, R. L. and Maffeo, R. J. and Schwartz, S. Unspecified Center...

This book was released on 2018-06-27 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report describes the technical effort to develop: (1) geometry recipes for nozzles, inlets, disks, frames, shafts, and ducts in finite element form, (2) component design tools for nozzles, inlets, disks, frames, shafts, and ducts which utilize the recipes and (3) an integrated design tool which combines the simulations of the nozzles, inlets, disks, frames, shafts, and ducts with the previously developed combustor, turbine blade, and turbine vane models for a total engine representation. These developments will be accomplished in cooperation and in conjunction with comparable efforts of NASA Glenn Research Center. McKnight, R. L. and Maffeo, R. J. and Schrantz, S. and Hartle, M. Book Enhancement Upgrade of Engine Structures Technology Best Estimator Est Best Software System

Download or read book Enhancement Upgrade of Engine Structures Technology Best Estimator Est Best Software System written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-05-31 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report describes the work performed during the contract period and the capabilities included in the EST/BEST software system. The developed EST/BEST software system includes the integrated NESSUS, IPACS, COBSTRAN, and ALCCA computer codes required to perform the engine cycle mission and component structural analysis. Also, the interactive input generator for NESSUS, IPACS, and COBSTRAN computer codes have been developed and integrated with the EST/BEST software system. The input generator allows the user to create input from scratch as well as edit existing input files interactively. Since it has been integrated with the EST/BEST software system, it enables the user to modify EST/BEST generated files and perform the analysis to evaluate the benefits. Appendix A gives details of how to use the newly added features in the EST/BEST software system.Shah, AshwinGlenn Research CenterCOMPUTER SYSTEMS PROGRAMS; SOFTWARE ENGINEERING; COMPUTER PROGRAMMING; AERODYNAMICS; STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS; ENGINE TESTS; GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE; PROBABILITY THEORY; DAMAGE; SYSTEMS INTEGRATION; PERFORMANCE TESTS; LOADS (FORCES)

This book was released on 2018-07-24 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ESMOSS is a specialized software system for the construction of geometric descriptive and discrete analytical models of engine parts, components and substructures which can be transferred to finite element analysis programs such as NASTRAN. The software architecture of ESMOSS is designed in modular form with a central executive module through which the user controls and directs the development of the analytical model. Modules consist of a geometric shape generator, a library of discretization procedures, interfacing modules to join both geometric and discrete models, a deck generator to produce input for NASTRAN and a 'recipe' processor which generates geometric models from parametric definitions. ESMOSS can be executed both in interactive and batch modes. Interactive mode is considered to be the default mode and that mode will be assumed in the discussion in this document unless stated otherwise. Book Vehicular Engine Design

Download or read book Vehicular Engine Design written by Kevin Hoag and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-02-05 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mechanical engineering curriculum in most universities includes at least one elective course on the subject of reciprocating piston engines. The majority of these courses today emphasize the application of thermodynamics to engine ef?ciency, performance, combustion, and emissions. There are several very good textbooks that support education in these aspects of engine development. However, in most companies engaged in engine development there are far more engineers working in the areas of design and mechanical development. University studies should include opportunities that prepare engineers desiring to work in these aspects of engine development as well. My colleagues and I have undertaken the development of a series of graduate courses in engine design and mechanical development. In doing so it becomes quickly apparent that no suitable te- book exists in support of such courses. This book was written in the hopes of beginning to address the need for an engineering-based introductory text in engine design and mechanical development. It is of necessity an overview. Its focus is limited to reciprocating-piston internal-combustion engines – both diesel and spa- ignition engines. Emphasis is speci?cally on automobile engines, although much of the discussion applies to larger and smaller engines as well. A further intent of this book is to provide a concise reference volume on engine design and mechanical development processes for engineers serving the engine industry. It is intended to provide basic information and most of the chapters include recent references to guide more in-depth study.
