ISFJ Romance 7 Actionable Steps for Overcoming Your Weaknesses as an ISFJ The 10 Most Influential ISFJs We Can Learn From Conclusion An excerpt from the book: Are you an introvert or an extrovert? It is a hot topic lately, with new books being written every year about the "power of introverts," as well as advice on how to thrive in an extrovert's world. In the workplace particularly, employers are finally realizing that paying attention to differences in the working styles of personality types can make or break a project. It is true that the two types could not be more different if they tried. Introverts are seen as quiet, meek souls who are more likely to prefer that Friday nights spent at home alone with a good book. On the other side of the scale, extroverts are often take-charge types who need their workdays and weekends to be full of both action and people. If you belong to this type of personality, you communicate in a way that attracts people. Your intuitive personality has given you almost supernatural ability to sense what others think and are about to say. Moreover, one has a feeling that you can read minds and your warm nature allows people you are talking to feel as though they are not being scrutinized. Everyone you talk to feels as though you have known each other for ages. You are completely comfortable in expressing your feelings, thoughts and attitudes, and there is little place for misunderstanding when talking to you. The fact that you are extremely sensitive to the inner life of another person is connected to your communication skills. Due to your intuition and immense capacity for empathy, no thought goes unnoticed by you. You know that this comes naturally to you, but others may be astonished by your understanding of how their mind and souls work. Your inborn sympathetic nature accepts everyone as they are. That, combined with a vast capacity for sensing every little thought in one's mind, makes you an expert in psyche. When talking to an ENFP, we can almost feel as they even see the desires, wishes and reflections hidden from us.Tags: ENFP, MBTI, Myers Brigg Type Indicator, Psychology tests, myers briggs personality test, Personality Tests, personality types, 16 personality types, INTJ, INFJ, ENFP famous people, ENFP careers, ENFP relationships, ENFP jobs, ENFP personality traits

ESFJ Romance 7 Actionable Steps for Overcoming Your Weaknesses as an ESFJ The 10 Most Influential ESFJs We Can Learn From Conclusion An excerpt from the book: Personality assessments have been steadily growing more popular. If you have ever killed time surfing the Internet, chances are you have taken a personality quiz or two. Many corporations and organizations have begun to rely on personality evaluations as part of their employee hiring process. A popular example of these assessments is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test. The MBTI test is a questionnaire devised to assess a person's decision-making and perception. It analyzes an individual's personality framework and can be extremely helpful in determining their communication style, preferred work environment, and general interests. The Myers-Briggs test also actuates the similarities and differences between people and enables more harmonious interpersonal relationships. It was first published in 1962 by psychological theorists Isabel Briggs-Myers and her mother, Katharine Cook Briggs; the MBTI test is one of the oldest personality tests in existence. The mother-daughter team began developing the test in the 1940s to measure people's cognitive preferences in how they made decisions and viewed the world. They first came up with the idea after a lengthy study of Carl Jung's proposed typological theories. Jung published the book Psychological Types in which he theorized that there are four primary functions by which people perceive the world. Myers and Briggs took Jung's theories further by creating the MBTI test. Their original goal was to help women determine which jobs during the war would be the best fit for them. Since then, the MBTI test has grown to become one of the most widely taken personality assessments in the world. In the United States alone, the MBTI test is taken nearly two and a half million times each year.Tags: ESFJ, MBTI, Myers Brigg Type Indicator, Psychology tests, myers briggs personality test, Personality Tests, personality types, 16 personality types, ISFP, INFP, ESFJ famous people, ESFJ careers, ESFJ relationships, ESFJ jobs, ESFJ personality traits

ESTJ Romance 7 Actionable Steps for Overcoming Your Weaknesses as an ESTJ The 10 Most Influential ESTJs We Can Learn From Conclusion An excerpt from the book: ESTJs are natural leaders. Both in private activities, and at the workplace, they can repeatedly be seen in a position where they are taking charge. The way an ESTJ will usually lead others in a group environment is by using their dominant extroverted thinking function to make logical, smart decisions for the group to carry out. Basically, their bluntness and strong-headed behavior has them telling people what to do (they're quite good at it), while using their auxiliary function of introverted sensing, they're able to do so in a semi-calm fashion. For that reason, ESTJs are sometimes viewed as a type that possesses a "calm confidence" about them. The reason that ESTJs are such great leaders is because they pay strong attention to details and are meticulous about perfection. They will motivate the people around them to work just as hard as they are by communicating in a clear and authoritative way. Not only that, but they also stand by their opinions and will fight to keep their dominance in a group. Book Teaching Engineering Second Edition

Download or read book Teaching Engineering Second Edition written by Phillip C. Wankat and published by Purdue University Press. This book was released on 2015-01-15 with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The majority of professors have never had a formal course in education, and the most common method for learning how to teach is on-the-job training. This represents a challenge for disciplines with ever more complex subject matter, and a lost opportunity when new active learning approaches to education are yielding dramatic improvements in student learning and retention. This book aims to cover all aspects of teaching engineering and other technical subjects. It presents both practical matters and educational theories in a format useful for both new and experienced teachers. It is organized to start with specific, practical teaching applications and then leads to psychological and educational theories. The "practical orientation" section explains how to develop objectives and then use them to enhance student learning, and the "theoretical orientation" section discusses the theoretical basis for learning/teaching and its impact on students. Written mainly for PhD students and professors in all areas of engineering, the book may be used as a text for graduate-level classes and professional workshops or by professionals who wish to read it on their own. Although the focus is engineering education, most of this book will be useful to teachers in other disciplines. Teaching is a complex human activity, so it is impossible to develop a formula that guarantees it will be excellent. However, the methods in this book will help all professors become good teachers while spending less time preparing for the classroom. This is a new edition of the well-received volume published by McGraw-Hill in 1993. It includes an entirely revised section on the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and new sections on the characteristics of great teachers, different active learning methods, the application of technology in the classroom (from clickers to intelligent tutorial systems), and how people learn.
