Download or read book TURKEY ENERGY OUTLOOK 2020 written by Prof. Carmine Difiglio and published by Sabancı University Istanbul International Center for Energy and Climate. This book was released on 2020-11-11 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Turkey Energy Outlook (TEO) proposes energy policies to further improve energy security, increase use of domestic energy resources, advance energy efficiency, build clean energy infrastructure, develop a more competitive energy market with cost-reflective energy pricing and also to support all necessary steps towards achieving a sustainable energy system in Turkey. The main themes include increased energy efficiency, higher use of renewable energy, improving electricity and natural gas markets, building Turkey’s first nuclear power plants, increased energy technology R&D and continuing and expanding the recent efforts to discover and produce more natural gas and oil. Turkey’s per capita energy and electricity consumption are less than half of the OECD average. As a country that is still developing, compared to Turkey’s OECD peers, the growth of energy services per capita will be much higher. This is necessary to accommodate increasing incomes, population growth, industrialization, urbanization, increased mobility and wider access to modern energy services. The Turkey Energy Outlook (TEO) provides an independent assessment of changing technological opportunities and policy priorities to secure an efficient, competitive and sustainable energy future. Two TEO Scenarios quantify the consequences of two different policy pathways out to 2040.

Book Neoliberal Transformation of Electricity

Download or read book Neoliberal Transformation of Electricity written by Serhan Ünal and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-05-02 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book makes a structural analysis of the neoliberal restructuring in the global electricity industry. The book shows that the electricity liberalisation in different countries is just a reflection of the same structural trend in the global economy and avoids from both narrow country-specific and abstract global approaches by making a structural analysis completed by a case study. Thus, it aims reaching wider conclusions about how global changes in finance and ideology / knowledge structures influence domestic energy and economic policy preferences of developing countries. The book develops a taxonomy about organising principles around which the electricity industry has been structured historically and globally, and reveals drivers of change which influences the current energy transition in the electricity sector. Combining these aspects, the book uses financial and other economic data empirically, to shed light on the structural role of global transformation of the electricity markets on the domestic energy policy preferences of the developing countries. Thus, this work will be useful not only for academic purposes, but also for practitioners dealing with these issues.

Book Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions

Download or read book Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions written by Information Resources Management Association and published by Engineering Science Reference. This book was released on 2021-06-25 with total page 2250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Energy usage and consumption continue to rise globally each year, with the most efficient and cost-effective energy sources causing huge impacts to the environment. In an effort to mitigate harmful effects to the environment, implementing clean energy resources and utilizing green energy management strategies have become worldwide initiatives, with many countries from all regions quickly becoming leaders in renewable energy usage. Still, not every energy resource is without flaws. Researchers must develop effective and low-cost strategies for clean energy in order to find the balance between production and consumption. The Research Anthology on Clean Energy Management and Solutions provides in-depth research that explores strategies and techniques used in the energy production field to optimize energy efficiency in order to maintain clean and safe use while delivering ample energy coverage. The anthology also seeks solutions to energy that have not yet been optimized or are still produced in a way that is harmful to the environment. Covering topics such as hydrogen fuel cells, renewable energy, solar power, solar systems, cost savings, and climate protection, this text is essential for electrical engineers, nuclear engineers, environmentalists, managers, policymakers, government officials, professionals in the energy industry, researchers, academicians, and students looking for the latest research on clean energy management.

Book Twisting in the Wind

Download or read book Twisting in the Wind written by Oksan Bayulgen and published by University of Michigan Press. This book was released on 2022-09-15 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whereas most scholars study alternative energy policy in developed, Western nations, Oksan Bayulgen wonders why renewable energy has not advanced in countries that do not have deep fossil fuel resources. This book focuses on the political determinants of clean energy transitions, especially in developing country settings, which most of the literature has overlooked. Using an in-depth case study of energy policymaking in Turkey, Bayulgen constructs a dynamic, multidimensional theoretical model to explain the political feasibility of energy solutions to climate change in much of the world. By using Turkey as a case study, she clearly shows the role of the state and elites in energy policies that have failed to make the transition to renewables. This timely topic will be of interest to scholars, policymakers, energy investors, and anyone interested in environmental studies.

Book Energy Analysis and Policy

Download or read book Energy Analysis and Policy written by Mohan Munasinghe and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Energy Analysis and Policy: Selected Works discusses the major aspect of electricity economics, including pricing, demand forecasting, investment analysis, and system reliability. This book provides a clear and comprehensive overview of the diversity of problems in analyzing energy markets and designing sound energy policies. Organized into 14 chapters, this book first discusses the energy economics in developing countries; integrated national energy planning (INEP) in developing countries; energy pricing; practical application of INEP using microcomputers; and energy strategies for oil-importing developing countries. Subsequent chapters describe the energy demand management and conservation; national energy policy implementation; energy demand analysis and forecasting; and energy project evaluation and planning. Other chapters explore non-conventional energy project analysis and national energy policy; rural energy issues and supply options; and bioenergy management policy. Rural-industrial energy and fossil fuel issues, as well as energy R&D decision-making in developing countries, are also presented. As the issues in this book are very important, this book will be helpful to a wide and appreciative audience.
