Book Energy Centered Management

Download or read book Energy Centered Management written by Marvin T. Howell and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-12-17 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides organizations with a guide to planning, developing, and implementing an energy reduction and management program. It is specially designed to achieve energy reduction deployment including top management for all employees and onsite contractors. Energy reduction deployment (ERD) can be implemented by itself and render significant savings; however, for even greater savings, this book shows how to implement energy centered management systems (ECMS) which can be in congruence with ISO 50001. This book assists in the hunt for energy waste and is designed to thoroughly cover ECMS plus addresses what additions are necessary to have ECMS conform to ISO 50001 Energy Management System (EnMS). It provides a checklist and information on how to perform an internal audit or self-inspection and discusses how to create an energy awareness organization culture.

Book Energy Planning In Developing Countries

Download or read book Energy Planning In Developing Countries written by Peter Meier and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-04-24 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past decade almost all developing countries have established energy planning activities in response to the grave problems that have arisen as a result of the drastic increase in energy prices, of the burden of energy related investment debt service, and of the problems of deforestation. Although the insti tutional and organizational responses are quite varied, it is largely engineers and economists who have been called upon to provide the necessary analytical capability to support policy decisions in the energy area. However, as evidenced by the recent participants in the Energy Management Training Program (EMTP), many of the analytical techniques now regarded as appropriate go beyond the usual background of those who are now assigned to such tasks. Indeed, this monograph is based on the material presented in the first ·part of the course, whose purpose is to bring the often diverse group to some common ground. Some of the material, such as Chapter 4 on the basics of energy pricing, is intended primarily for engineers. Other sections, such as Chapter 2 on energy balances, is primarily a vehicle for a discussion of the problems of units and differences in approach by different international bodies. The intent, then, is to provide in a single work a primer on a large number of different analytical tools.

Book Energy Systems and Management

Download or read book Energy Systems and Management written by Ali Nezihi Bilge and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-03-25 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Readers of this work will find examinations of the current status and future status for energy sources and technologies, their environmental interactions and the relevant global energy policies. The work begins with an overview of Energy Technologies for a Sustainable Future, which examines the correlation between population, economy and energy consumption in the past, and reviews the conventional and renewable energy sources as well as the management of them to sustain the ever-growing energy demand in the future. The rest of the chapters are divided into 3 parts; the first part of the book, “Energy Sources, Technologies and Environment”, consists of 12 chapters, which include research on new energy technologies and evaluation of their environmental effects. The second part “Advanced Energy Materials” includes 7 chapters devoted to research on material science for new energy technologies. The final section titled “Energy Management, Economics and Policy” is comprised of 10 chapters about planning, controlling and monitoring energy related processes together with the policies to satisfy the needs of increasing population and growing economy. The chapters are selected works from the International Conference on Energy and Management, which was organized by Istanbul Bilgi University Department of Energy Systems Engineering and PALMET Energy to share the knowledge on the recent trends, scientific developments, innovations and management methods in energy, and held on 5–7th June 2014 at Istanbul Bilgi University.

Download or read book Multiobjective regional energy planning written by Peter Blair and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 171 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, the scope of energy planning has been broadened to include a variety of additional considerations such as socioeconomic and environ mental impacts. The fundamental purpose of energy planning is to formu late policy. Policy must be formulated in response to the interests which that policy would affect. A planning model called policy programming is developed in this work from basic concepts of hierarchical system theory and input-output analysis. The model is used in planning for energy park development in a specific region. I wish to acknowledge gratefully the suggestions of Thomas L. Saaty and Ronald Miller who commented at length on various drafts of the manu script. Support for this work was provided in part by the U. S. Energy Research and Development Administration, the U. S. Federal Energy Administration, and the University of Pennsylvania Energy Center. Peter Blair December, 1977 Contents Preface v PART ONE: SYSTEMS THEORY AND ENERGY PLANNING 1.
