  • ISBN : 0323142222
  • Pages : 850 pages

Download or read book Neutron Cross Sections written by Victoria McLane and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 850 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neutron Cross Sections, Volume 2: Neutron Cross Section Curves presents data for total reaction cross sections and related fission parameters as a function of incident-neutron energy. This book covers energy range from 0.01 eV to 200 MeV to exclude crystalline and magnetic effects for slow neutrons and relativistic effects for high energy neutrons. The data in this volume are grouped into sections corresponding to the element of the target nucleus in the neutron-induced reaction. These sections are ordered in increasing atomic number. Within a section, graphical data are presented for the natural element followed by the isotopes of that element in order of increasing atomic mass. A list of the reaction types is provided at the end of each section. This book also provides graphical section, wherein each graphical page is annotated on the outer edge with a symbol for an element or isotope followed by the list of the cross section data for that element or isotope. The data plotted in the graphical section are tagged by a mnemonic consisting of year, laboratory, and author's last name. This tag can be used to find the corresponding reference on the bibliographic pages.

Book Neutronic Analysis For Nuclear Reactor Systems

Download or read book Neutronic Analysis For Nuclear Reactor Systems written by Bahman Zohuri and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-02-09 with total page 672 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This expanded new edition develops the theory of nuclear reactors from the fundamentals of fission to the operating characteristics of modern reactors. The first half of the book emphasizes reactor criticality analysis and all of the fundamentals that go into modern calculations. Simplified one group diffusion theory models are presented and extended into sophisticated multi-group transport theory models. The second half of the book deals with the two main topics of interest related to operating reactors – reactor kinetics/dynamics, and in-core fuel management. Additional chapters have been added to expand and bring the material up-to-date and include the utilization of more computer codes. Code models and detailed data sets are provided along with example problems making this a useful text for students and researchers wishing to develop an understanding of nuclear power and its implementation in today’s modern energy spectrum. Covers the fundamentals of neutronic analysis for nuclear reactor systems to help understand nuclear reactor theory; Describes the benefits, uses, safety features, and challenges related to implementation of Small Modular Reactors; Provides examples, data sets, and code to assist the reader in obtaining mastery over the subjects.

Book Physics of Nuclear Reactors

Download or read book Physics of Nuclear Reactors written by P. Mohanakrishnan and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2021-05-19 with total page 788 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physics of Nuclear Reactors presents a comprehensive analysis of nuclear reactor physics. Editors P. Mohanakrishnan, Om Pal Singh, and Kannan Umasankari and a team of expert contributors combine their knowledge to guide the reader through a toolkit of methods for solving transport equations, understanding the physics of reactor design principles, and developing reactor safety strategies. The inclusion of experimental and operational reactor physics makes this a unique reference for those working and researching nuclear power and the fuel cycle in existing power generation sites and experimental facilities. The book also includes radiation physics, shielding techniques and an analysis of shield design, neutron monitoring and core operations. Those involved in the development and operation of nuclear reactors and the fuel cycle will gain a thorough understanding of all elements of nuclear reactor physics, thus enabling them to apply the analysis and solution methods provided to their own work and research. This book looks to future reactors in development and analyzes their status and challenges before providing possible worked-through solutions.
