Obtaining freedom by being completely and totally released from the bondages of my past life has been a real test of my faith and trust in JesusÂ' love for me.After thirty-nine years of smoking marijuana, getting high on drugs, and living life my way, and with twenty-eight years of this time in the Word, freedom has finally come my way. I have seen JesusÂ' loving grace and mercy raise four people from the dead.At the age of twenty-nine in Houston, Texas I was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. I have been addicted to everything that I thought would bring fun and more life. I have been hooked on heroin, PCP, LSD, and all types of barbiturates although the strongest drug of all, as far as I am concerned, is alcohol. I was addicted to crack cocaine for nineteen years and used cocaine for more thanthirty-five years. You see without JesusÂ' love my life was over. I was completely burned out, my life was hopeless, but Jesus had a plan for me. I believed in God enough to reach out and take hold of his Word. Now, you see I am restored to JesusÂ' perfect willand plans for my life. Regardless, of where you are and how you have failed in life, Jesus is here to help, but you must believe in Him. With Him all things are possible and He wants to fix your life better than youÂ've ever dreamed possible. The words found in this book are how I received them from the Bible the rules on how to engage SatanÂ's hosts of darkness and put them out of my life. Through application of these principles you will reign with Jesus completely in His Word.As you read these words and apply the principles found within, I guarantee that the Holy Spirit will do for you what it has done for me. Deliver, teach, and completely set you free forevermore. Loving Jesus with everything in your being is greater than anything you could face and nothing can take away your victory in Christ. For loving Jesus is the greatest adventure IÂ've ever found.A True Warrior for JesusÂ' Kingdom

Book excerpt: A history of the Gunners told through in-depth biographies of the team’s key players on and off the pitch, from its late 19th century beginnings to today. Arsenal: The Story of a Football Club in 101 Lives tells the history of the team through the biographies of key individuals associated with the club from its formation in the gas-lit days of Victorian Britain through to the present day. From David Danskin, the Scottish mechanical engineer and footballer who was the driving force behind the team raised at Dial Square, a workshop at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, to Arsene Wenger, the longest-serving and most successful manager in Arsenal’s history. The in-depth stories of the characters—players, managers, chairmen—here paint a fascinating picture of how the club—indeed, the game of football itself—has developed from workers playing for fun to today’s multi-million-pound business.

Book Rebels for the Cause

Download or read book Rebels for the Cause written by Jon Spurling and published by Random House. This book was released on 2012-11-02 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arsenal's on-field success has been well documented. But what has never been written before is the equally remarkable history of Arsenal's rebels, both on and off the pitch. Spanning almost 120 years, and set against a backdrop of turbulent social and political change, Rebels for the Cause assesses the legacy and impact of Arsenal's most controversial players, officials and matches. From hard men like '30s player Wilf Copping to the reformed wild ones of recent years such as Tony Adams, Jon Spurling highlights the infamous figures whose refusal to conform has made them terrace legends. Mavericks such as '80s star Charlie Nicholas and the 'King of Highbury' Charlie George are here, as are '70s lads Alan Hudson and Malcolm Macdonald. The book also focuses on the club's revolutionary founding fathers, David Danskin and Jack Humble, the terrifying '20s 'soccer Tsar' Sir Henry Norris and David Dein's controversial introduction of free-market economics to Highbury in the regressive '80s. Also investigated are the stories behind Arsenal's most infamous tabloid exposés. Featuring extensive interviews with 15 former players, Rebels for the Cause is an indispensable guide to the alternative history of Arsenal Football Club, shedding new light on the origins of the rivalry with Tottenham, on many of Highbury's cult heroes and on the struggle of several players to adapt to life outside the game.

Book Shipbuilders of the Venetian Arsenal

Download or read book Shipbuilders of the Venetian Arsenal written by Robert C. Davis and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2007-01-11 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The master ship builders of seventeenth-century Venice formed part of what was arguably the greatest manufacturing complex in early modern Europe. As many as three thousand masters, apprentices, and laborers regularly worked in the city's enormous shipyards. This is the social history of the men and women who helped maintain not only the city's dominion over the sea but also its stability and peace. Drawing on a variety of documents that include nearly a thousand petitions from the shipbuilders to the Venetian governments as well as on parish records, inventories, and wills, Robert C. Davis offers a vivid and compelling account of these early modern workers. He explores their mentality and describes their private and public worlds (which in some ways, he argues, prefigured the factories and company towns of a later era). He uncovers the far-reaching social and cultural role played by women in this industrial community. He shows how the Venetian government formed its shipbuilders into a militia to maintain public order. And he describes the often colorful ways in which Venetians dealt with the tensions that role provoked—including officially sanctioned community fistfights on the city's bridges. The recent decision by the Italian government to return the Venetian Arsenal to civilian control has sparked renewed interest in the subject among historians. Shipbuilders of the Venetian Arsenal offers new evidence on the ways in which large, state-run manufacturing operations furthered the industrialization process, as well as on the extent of workers' influence on the social dynamics of the early modern European city.

Book The Royal Arsenal Railways

Download or read book The Royal Arsenal Railways written by Mark Smithers and published by Pen and Sword. This book was released on 2016-03-31 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mark Smithers has written a number of definitive books and magazine features on the history of locomotive construction and the development of narrow gauge railways. This book looks at the history and development of railways at the Royal Arsenal Woolwich, which evolved from humble roots in the 1820s into three separate railway systems, serving the Gun Factory, Laboratory and Carriage Department. The three systems originally had their own fleet of locomotives and rolling stock and were constructed using three different track gauges: standard gauge, 2ft and 18in. The Arsenal and its railways played a major role in both world wars and continued to hold an important place in gun and propellant manufacture until the late 1950s, when the complex was gradually run down. The Royal Arsenal and its railways were finally closed in 1967, when the last train of material left the site. This book covers the history of the system from its beginnings through to its demise and also details the significant remains of a once mighty network.
