Download or read book Emissions and Fuel Standards Control of Air Pollution from Motor Vehicles Us Environmental Protection Agency Regulation Epa 2018 Edition written by The Law The Law Library and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-20 with total page 812 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Emissions and Fuel Standards - Control of Air Pollution from Motor Vehicles (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Emissions and Fuel Standards - Control of Air Pollution from Motor Vehicles (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 This action establishes more stringent vehicle emissions standards and will reduce the sulfur content of gasoline beginning in 2017, as part of a systems approach to addressing the impacts of motor vehicles and fuels on air quality and public health. The gasoline sulfur standard will make emission control systems more effective for both existing and new vehicles, and will enable more stringent vehicle emissions standards. The vehicle standards will reduce both tailpipe and evaporative emissions from passenger cars, light-duty trucks, medium-duty passenger vehicles, and some heavy-duty vehicles. This will result in significant reductions in pollutants such as ozone, particulate matter, and air toxics across the country and help state and local agencies in their efforts to attain and maintain health-based National Ambient Air Quality Standards. Motor vehicles are an important source of exposure to air pollution both regionally and near roads. These vehicle standards are intended to harmonize with California's Low Emission Vehicle program, thus creating a federal vehicle emissions program that will allow automakers to sell the same vehicles in all 50 states. The vehicle standards will be implemented over the same timeframe as the greenhouse gas/fuel efficiency standards for light-duty vehicles (promulgated by EPA and the National Highway Safety Administration in 2012), as part of a comprehensive approach toward regulating emissions from motor vehicles. Book Ozone Forming Potential of Reformulated Gasoline

Download or read book Ozone Forming Potential of Reformulated Gasoline written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 1999-09-23 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Committee on Ozone-Forming Potential for Reformulated Gasoline was asked whether the existing body of scientific and technical information is sufficient to permit a robust evaluation and comparison of the emissions from motor vehicles using different reformulated gasolines based on their ozone-forming potentials and to assess the concomitant impact of that approach on air-quality benefits of the use of oxygenates within the RFG program. As part of its charge, the committee was asked to consider (1) the technical soundness of various approaches for evaluating and comparing the relative ozone-forming potentials of RFG blends, (2) technical aspects of various air-quality issues related to RFG assessment, and (3) the sensitivity of evaluations of the relative ozone-forming potentials to factors related to fuel properties and the variability of vehicle technologies and driving patterns.

Book Control of Air Pollution from New Motor Vehicles and New Motor Vehicle Engines Technical Amendments to Evaporative Emissions Regulations Us Environmental Protection Agency Regulation Epa 2018 Edition

Download or read book Control of Air Pollution from New Motor Vehicles and New Motor Vehicle Engines Technical Amendments to Evaporative Emissions Regulations Us Environmental Protection Agency Regulation Epa 2018 Edition written by The Law The Law Library and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-20 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control of Air Pollution From New Motor Vehicles and New Motor Vehicle Engines - Technical Amendments to Evaporative Emissions Regulations (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Control of Air Pollution From New Motor Vehicles and New Motor Vehicle Engines - Technical Amendments to Evaporative Emissions Regulations (US Environmental Protection Agency Regulation) (EPA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 EPA is taking direct final action to make changes to certain provisions of the evaporative and refueling emission regulations for light-duty vehicles, light-duty trucks and heavy-duty vehicles up to 14,000 pounds GVWR, the four-wheel drive dynamometer test provisions, and the vehicle labeling regulations. The evaporative changes are intended to: reduce manufacturers' certification evaporative/refueling test burden; clarify existing evaporative/refueling requirements; and better harmonize federal evaporative/refueling test procedures with California evaporative/refueling test procedures. The dynamometer changes are intended to amend outdated regulations to now include four-wheel drive provisions. The labeling changes are intended to amend regulations to remove outdated information. Today's action does not change the stringency of these existing programs. Book Taxing Automobile Emissions for Pollution Control

Download or read book Taxing Automobile Emissions for Pollution Control written by Maureen Sevigny and published by Edward Elgar Publishing. This book was released on 1998 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This innovative book examines the role an automobile emissions tax could play in reducing emissions in the United States. Beginning with a theoretical discussion of a first-best tax, a second-best tax on passenger vehicles is developed. This study contains detailed analyses of: The design of tax. Behavioural reponses that lead to emissions reductions, including reductions in the household's vehicle miles of travel and the scrapping of low-value, high emitting vehicles. The effect of the tax on the reduction of emissions. The effects of the tax on households in different income quintiles. A comparison of the emissions reducing potential of a gasoline tax compared to an emissions tax. This study uses a simulation model to analyse the sensitivity of travel demand and the resulting emissions, to different tax rates and demand elasticities. The author concludes that an emissions tax has the potential to significantly reduce emissions from household vehicles, even when travel demand is relatively price inelastic. Taxing Automobile Emissions for Pollution Control will prove invaluable to policy makers and academics in the field of environmental management and environmental economics and p
