Book Emergo Art Magazine Issue 1

Download or read book Emergo Art Magazine Issue 1 written by Emergo Art and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-01-27 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Emergo Art Magazine is a magazine that is published monthly. We feature emerging artists, and the art we show can range from big sculptures to small paintings. We love emerging artists because of their individuality, but mostly because they are in a very interesting position. You probably can understand that it is very hard to reach a point where a painting you make actually sells for 2000 pounds. But once you get to that point, you actually start making enough money to live off of art, or to start working part-time. This motivates the artists to experiment more, which can make for even more interesting paintings, that become more valuable. And as the new ones are more valuable the previous ones rise in value as well. Then the artist at one point can invest more and more time in their art, and they can go from good to great.

Book Emergent Interfaces for Feature Modularization

Download or read book Emergent Interfaces for Feature Modularization written by Márcio Ribeiro and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-11-13 with total page 91 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Developers frequently introduce errors into software systems when they fail to recognise module dependencies. Using forty-three software families and Software Product Lines (SPLs), where the majority are commonly used in industrial practice, the authors reports on the feature modularization problem and provides a study of how often it may occur in practice. To solve the problem they present the concept of emergent feature modularization which aims to establish contracts between features to prevent developers from breaking other features when performing a maintenance task.

This book was released on 2016-06-16 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers organized crime groups, empirical studies of organized crime, criminal finances and money laundering, and crime prevention, gathering some of the most authoritative and well-known scholars in the field. The contributions to this book are new chapters written in honor of Professor Dick Hobbs, on the occasion of his retirement. They reflect his powerful influence on the study of organized crime, offering a novel perspective that located organized crime in its socio-economic context, studied through prolonged ethnographic engagement. Professor Hobbs has influenced a generation of criminology researchers engaged in studying organized crime groups, and this work provides a both a look back and this influence and directions for future research. It will be of interest to researchers in criminology and criminal justice, particularly with a focus on organized crime and financial crime, as well as those interested in corruption, crime prevention, and applications of ethnographic methods.

Download or read book Octavia written by Rolando Ferri and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2003-12-18 with total page 483 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This 2003 book is a full-length study of Octauia, the only complete Roman drama of an historical subject, or fabula praetexta. The play deals with Nero's divorce from the princess Octavia, Claudius' daughter by Valeria Messalina, and with his subsequent marriage to Poppaea Sabina. Professor Ferri presents a critical edition of the text based on a fresh re-examination of the relevant manuscripts and provides a full discussion of textual issues. In the Introduction he argues that the play, wrongly ascribed to Seneca in our MSS, was composed in the late Flavian period, and that the author relied on pre-existing historical accounts written after the death of Nero. He also discusses in detail the style and language of the play, strongly influenced by Senecan tragedy, its relationship to the other plays of the Senecan corpus, and particularly to Hercules Oetaeus, its stagecraft and post-Classical dramatic conventions, and the author's political position.

Book Incapacitation

  • Author : Marijke Malsch
  • Publisher : Routledge
  • Release : 2016-05-23
  • ISBN : 1317117670
  • Pages : 274 pages

Download or read book Incapacitation written by Marijke Malsch and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-23 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In many criminal justice systems a new trend towards incapacitation can be witnessed. A ubiquitous want for control seems to have emerged as a consequence of perceived safety risks. This can be seen not only in the mass incarceration of offenders but also in the disqualification of offenders from jobs, in chemical castration in cases of sexual crimes, the increased use of electronic monitoring and in the life-long monitoring of individuals who pose certain risks. Trends towards incapacitation are now even spreading to public administration and the employment sector, in the refusal of licenses and the rejection of employees with past criminal records. This book discusses the topic of incapacitation from various angles and perspectives. It explores how theories of punishment are affected by the more recent emphasis on incapacitation and how criminal justice practice is changing as a consequence of this new emphasis. Many contributors express criticisms with this trend towards incapacitation. They argue for a better calibration of measures to the severity of the misconduct. In addressing an increasingly important development in criminal justice, the book will be an essential resource for students, researchers, and policy-makers working in the areas of criminal law, sentencing, probation and crime prevention.
