Book Embracing the Dances of Life

Download or read book Embracing the Dances of Life written by John Gasser and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-02-02 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When we learn to embrace the dance with our Creator and Savior, God begins to move mountains in our lives and He begins to restore the years of our youth the locusts have taken away. Consider the nation of Egypt after the seven years of plenty when the seven years of famine began. By the time the famine was over, everything belonged to the Egyptian Pharaoh and everyone and everything was Pharaohs possession. It had become a socialistic culture and the government controlled it all. During their times of trial in the seven year famine, that was not the case of the Israelites who had turned to embrace their dance with God. Israel resided in the land of Goshen. God blessed them in a powerful way because they sought divine guidance and provisions from Jehovah. The question we need to ask ourselves today in times of trials; are we going to surrender everything we have to the government expecting hand outs in return, or are we going to the Creator of the universe, who holds the entire universe in the palm of His hand? Louie Giglio said it best in his tour The Heart of Passion, when he stated We serve a Ginormous God! It is my desire that the reading of this book will restore unto you the years of your life the locusts of sin have taken from you so that you can genuinely embrace the dance with God in a powerful way.

Book Life Is Short Don t Wait to Dance

Download or read book Life Is Short Don t Wait to Dance written by Valorie Kondos Field and published by Center Street. This book was released on 2018-10-02 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Highly acclaimed UCLA Women's gymnastics coach of 7 NCAA championships Valorie Kondos Field shares insights on how to use uniqueness and authenticity to achieve success. Former professional ballerina Valorie Kondos Field--or Miss Val, as she's affectionately known--has never tumbled, flipped, or even played any type of organized sports, and yet she has been able to craft a legendary coaching career through curiosity, creativity, attention to detail, and unwavering care for the overall well-being of her athletes. For Miss Val, it's not about winning and losing, it's about choreographing your life and owning the choices you make. Miss Val has shaped her UCLA Gymnastics program as a life skills class and now she's sharing those lessons with you, whether you're an athlete, business leader, or simply someone who wants to own their destiny. Miss Val's philosophies are timeless. Her coaching style is unorthodox. Life Is Short, Don't Wait to Dance is a thought-provoking, fun journey through the anecdotes of the 35-year career of a dancer/choreographer turned athletic coach. The book includes unforgettable stories of the Olympians and athletes with whom she's worked-including the inspirational journey of Katelyn Ohashi, whose joyful transformation under the tutelage of Miss Val was evident to the world when her perfect 10 floor routine went viral -- reaching over 100 million viewers. Other triumphs include Olympian Jamie Dantzscher, who found her confidence at UCLA and learned the tools to combat her previous abuse; and sensation Christine Peng Peng Lee, who helped the Bruins clinch the 2018 NCAA championship with back-to-back 10's. Miss Val also shares her favorite memories of her mentor, legendary basketball coach John Wooden, as well as her thoughts on Larry Nassar and the gymnastics sexual abuse scandal. Miss Val reveals how her coaching journey had a rocky start before she found her own best approach. In time she realized that her dance background wasn't a detriment, it was a gift. When she embraced this, Miss Val led the Bruins to victory. Life Is Short, Don't Wait to Dance is packed with great advice for anyone on a quest for success, delivered in Miss Val's reassuring and inspirational tone. She took the same approach to her breast cancer diagnosis, explaining how she made that struggle into one of the best years of her life. For Miss Val, it's all about attitude. Life Is Short, Don't Wait to Dance is a powerful book that shows you how to make the leap of faith in choosing your own path to greatness.

It depicts the adventures of Malone, a beautiful young man searching for love amid New York's emerging gay scene. From Manhattan's Everard Baths and after-hours discos to Fire Island's deserted parks and lavish orgies, Malone looks high and low for meaningful companionship. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "What happened to the DREAM I had nurtured for a lifetime? A SIMPLE LIFE...neat, orderly, predictable and SAFE?" When Linda McGinn Waterman's life fell apart, a frightful truth became obvious: Change and the resulting chaos are everywhere, actually forming the very fabric of life. She tried to resist it, manage it, plan for it, and hide from it with no success. Now she tried something new: She embraced it. Are there times when the uncertainties of life overwhelm you? In this intriguing book, Waterman shows that chaos actually does you a favor by smashing the false foundations on which you try to build your life. As you learn to accept rather than resist the chaos, God's pattern for your life will emerge from the tempest, bringing you rest, calm, joy and adventure. When you make the choice to dance in the storm, "life will be good. And you will not regret the choice," promises Waterman. "You will choose it time and time again as chaos confronts you. Everything is uncertain, except God, of course. And that's the most assuring exception there is." "Linda McGinn Waterman writes the way she lives-with passion, with insight, and with eternity in sight. Do yourself a favor and read her work " -ALLISON ALLEN, national conference speaker and performance artist with Women of Faith and in Broadway productions "If you are looking for practical, honest, real-life ways to deal with a broken world, this book is your book." -STEVE BROWN, Bible teacher, Key Life Radio Network author, speaker and mentor
