The report presents a general description of the foundation conditions, type of material and placement methods of the various sections of the embankment, the design considerations on stability and seepage control, significant operational events, and an evaluation of the condition of the embankment. Pertinent drawings, design and construction data, and photos are also included. Dierks Dam is located on the Saline River in Sevier and Howard Counties in southwest Arkansas. The dam consists of a 1,830 feet long main earth embankment rising a maximum of 153 feet above the riverbed and a 670 feet long right embankment. Other major features include uncontrolled spillway and an outlet works consisting of a 6 feet by 9 feet oblong concrete conduit. The purpose of the project is for flood control, water supply, recreation, and fish and wildlife conservation.
