Book Elemental Witch Books 1 3

Download or read book Elemental Witch Books 1 3 written by Ann Gimpel and published by Ann Gimpel Books, LLC. This book was released on 2021-02-25 with total page 599 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scottish time-traveling paranormal romance. Bundled for the very first time! Timespell A druid’s determination...A witch’s stormy rite of passage... Katerina eats, sleeps, and breathes cultural anthropology. The only stain on her success is her worry she’ll go mad just like a few other women in her family. That fear rockets to the fore when she’s on a lecture tour in the Scottish Highlands and hallucinations grab her, visions rife with horrors straight out of medieval folklore. Arlen, Arch Druid for all of Great Britain, hasn't called on his magic much in the past hundred years. No need for it in the midst of the twenty-first century. While attending a lecture, he detects fell forces. A closer look reveals the impossible. He’d thought the Roskelly witches long dead. Brutal, feral, violent, they were the force behind Scotland’s bloodiest clan wars. Risen from their crypts, they’re intent on Katerina. What he can’t figure out is why. Time’s Curse Beware of witches, especially ones who pretend not to be… Born a Roskelly witch, Liliana’s spent most of her life running from who she is. Wielding dark power is dangerous, seductive. Mostly, she passes as human—until a clumsy spell lands her in 1890s Glasgow, and her web of fabrications collapses. Blackest of Black Magic workers, her Roskelly kinswomen are on the move. Risen from their crypts, they’ve set their sights on anyone standing in their way. Sean makes certain Druid wealth remains invisible. Consumed by the seedy world of offshore havens, he’s caught unaware and shanghaied backward in time. Furious at being targeted, he vows any witch who crosses his path will die a fiery death. He may have pissed off the Roskellys, but he’ll make damn good and sure they rue the day they bullied him. Time’s Hostage A witch with no loyalties… A Druid with a life-shattering secret… Part witch, part demon, Sorcha’s been on the run ever since she escaped Hell’s gates. Bouncing through time, she’s managed to stay one step ahead of Rhea Roskelly, blackest of Black Witches, who wants her for her demon blood. Constantly looking over one shoulder is annoying, but freedom is worth any price. Tavin used to be a Druid. Actually, he still is, but his magic took a decidedly unDruidlike turn a few years back. Rather than deal with his kinsmen, who’d be convinced he sold his soul to evil, he drops out of sight.

Book excerpt: Six months ago, Thessaly thought she knew what her life would hold. Now, two deaths have changed that. She has a freedom she never thought she’d have, but that doesn’t mean that society’s pressures have gone away. Still pressured to marry well, Thessaly needs to navigate her family’s demands and everyone’s assumptions about what she ought to do. Vitus has finally officially been recognised as a talisman maker, able to set up his own establishment and begin finding his own clients. He doesn’t dare unsettle things further, even though recent events have left him with many questions. As Vitus and Thessaly continue to talk, it becomes clear that much more is going on than either of them are aware of. Someone is experimenting with dangerous magic - that’s likely already caused multiple deaths. It would be easy to ignore it, to get on with their own lives, but neither of them can ignore what’s right in front of them. Nor can they ignore their own desires for each other and a life together. This final book in the Mysterious Fields trilogy brings Thessaly and Vitus’s romance to a happily ever after ending. Together, they figure out what matters, delight in their shared arts of magic and colour, and work together to solve a terrifying mystery that could change Albion’s history entirely. Set in 1889 and 1890, this book about the magical community of Victorian Britain should be read in order, after the first two books in the trilogy.

Book Euro Superalloys 2010

Download or read book Euro Superalloys 2010 written by Martin Heilmaier and published by Trans Tech Publications Ltd. This book was released on 2011-07-04 with total page 610 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS). It is noticeable that superalloys have regained their momentum. The worldwide effort to increase the efficiency and extend the lifetime of energy conversion facilities depends upon improved materials and manufacturing techniques. Materials are now expected to exhibit outstanding mechanical strength and creep resistance at high temperatures, as well as a good corrosion and oxidation resistance. Superalloys have this potential, but many of the commercial grades are still based upon metallurgical concepts that date back to the 1980s, and have typically been exploited so far in only a few prominent areas of application. Improvement in their high-temperature capability, and the adaption of manufacturing processes to new fields of application, present major challenges to current researchers in industry and academia. These papers, published within the context of the first European Symposium on Superalloys, present the current state of progress in the development, production and properties of cast, wrought and powder-metallurgical superalloys and associated coating systems. They represent a timely and invaluable guide to the subject.

Book Elemental Graphene Analogues

Download or read book Elemental Graphene Analogues written by D.J. Fisher and published by Materials Research Forum LLC. This book was released on 2017-06-01 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the greatest revolutions in materials science in recent years has been the literal renaissance of age-old materials in new and unexpected guises and possessing correspondingly astounding properties. There was once a time, for instance, when textbooks declared that only metals could offer any progress in superconduction. Since then, familiar perovskites – and even humble magnesium boride – have been recognised as being so-called ‘room-temperature’ superconductors. Carbon in particular has benefited from this revolution and has now found application as routinely deposited diamond coatings and as C60 ‘buckyballs’. The most recent innovation has been the discovery and preparation of graphene; single-monolayer carbon having a remarkable strength. This success has naturally led researchers to ask whether other materials might also be prepared in an analogous monolayer form and offer similarly amazing properties. The present monograph summarizes all of the work carried out on such monolayer materials up to the beginning of 2017, with attention being restricted to those, like graphene, being composed of a single element. Most of the work done so far on these ‘elemental graphene analogues’ has been theoretical, but the existing experimental data suggest that they may well become as useful as graphene.

Book Elemental Play and Outdoor Learning

Download or read book Elemental Play and Outdoor Learning written by Annie Woods and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-11-10 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Providing a fresh approach to examining development in the early years, this book draws together well-established ideas and theories based on outdoor play experiences and connects them to spiritual development in children. Elemental Play and Outdoor Learning considers socio-cultural perspectives, guided participation and mediated learning alongside playfulness as it looks at young children’s developing interest in the people around them, the environment they experience and the ideas and objects that involve them. Including rich encounters with young children and adults, chapters cover: elemental play as an approach to observe and support children’s holistic development; the role of people in developing effective exploratory and social skills; using the concept of elemental play to consider the spiritual system as an aspect of child development; imaginative play with raw, natural materials and how prepared environments can encourage children’s natural exploration; an exploration of well-established constructs of play and how elemental play can be integrated or re-conceptualised with the other theories. Exploring current thinking about natural experiences, interest in forest school activity and fresh insight into dynamic ecological concepts, this book will be essential reading for practitioners and students on undergraduate and postgraduate early years and childhood studies courses.
