Book Electromagnetic Wave Propagation and the Upper Atmosphere

Download or read book Electromagnetic Wave Propagation and the Upper Atmosphere written by Library of Congress. Aerospace Technology Division and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study is the fourth in a series of reports reviewing Soviet research on electromagnetic wave propagation and the upper atmosphere. Abstracts contained in the report were selected from Soviet open-source literature available at the Aerospace Technology Division and the Library of Congress. Information not directly related to the assigned subject has been included because of its broad implications for study in this field. The 29 abstracts are arranged alphabetically by author within each of the following categories: ionosphere, exosphere, and magnetosphere; geomagnetic micropulsations and earth currents; ionospheric perturbations by explosions, satellite and missile passage, solar radiation, etc.; satellite and missile experiments; radio and radar astronomy; aurora and geomagnetic disturbances. A bibliography is presented at the end of the report. (Author).

Book The HDL Automated Information System

Download or read book The HDL Automated Information System written by Berthold Altmann and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report reviews the purpose and development of the ABC system and presents the computer programs that were written and tested for the automatic construction and standardization of syntactical descriptors. Reasons of economy have overridden consideration of quality and have forced the installation to accept the analytical products of national and professional information centers rather than reprocess the items using the ABC system. The report contains a description of how the magnetic tapes distributed by national information centers are processed to provide the (under given conditions) best possible bibliographic (including SDI) services for HDL personnel; and presents also an outline of prototype test which is to estimate the inherent limitations of a proposed system and thus prevent further investments in a system if it has less potential capability than required by the application.
