This book was released on 1998 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Information on vapor pressures over solutions, activities of water, and osmotic coefficients over electrolyte solutions is discussed, and new experimental data are given. Coefficients for calculating vapor pressures over solutions of a large number of electrolytes that were obtained by mathematical treatment of experimental data in the literature are presented. Experimental data are given for a high- temperature range. Nine pages of explanation and examples are followed by some 750 pages of tables listing related equations and electrolytes. For each electrolyte, the maximum temperature range and the maximum range of concentrations are given. The author is affiliated with Khar'kov State Institute of Culture, Ukraine. Book Molecular Thermodynamics of Fluid Phase Equilibria

Download or read book Molecular Thermodynamics of Fluid Phase Equilibria written by John M. Prausnitz and published by Pearson Education. This book was released on 1998-10-22 with total page 1149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The classic guide to mixtures, completely updated with new models, theories, examples, and data. Efficient separation operations and many other chemical processes depend upon a thorough understanding of the properties of gaseous and liquid mixtures. Molecular Thermodynamics of Fluid-Phase Equilibria, Third Edition is a systematic, practical guide to interpreting, correlating, and predicting thermodynamic properties used in mixture-related phase-equilibrium calculations. Completely updated, this edition reflects the growing maturity of techniques grounded in applied statistical thermodynamics and molecular simulation, while relying on classical thermodynamics, molecular physics, and physical chemistry wherever these fields offer superior solutions. Detailed new coverage includes: Techniques for improving separation processes and making them more environmentally friendly. Theoretical concepts enabling the description and interpretation of solution properties. New models, notably the lattice-fluid and statistical associated-fluid theories. Polymer solutions, including gas-polymer equilibria, polymer blends, membranes, and gels. Electrolyte solutions, including semi-empirical models for solutions containing salts or volatile electrolytes. Coverage also includes: fundamentals of classical thermodynamics of phase equilibria; thermodynamic properties from volumetric data; intermolecular forces; fugacities in gas and liquid mixtures; solubilities of gases and solids in liquids; high-pressure phase equilibria; virial coefficients for quantum gases; and much more. Throughout, Molecular Thermodynamics of Fluid-Phase Equilibria strikes a perfect balance between empirical techniques and theory, and is replete with useful examples and experimental data. More than ever, it is the essential resource for engineers, chemists, and other professionals working with mixtures and related processes.

Download or read book Electrolytes written by Georgii Georgievich Aseyev and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-11-24 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first part of the book covers the electrolyte solution in its stationary state-electrostatic, and various ion-dipole, dipole-dipole, and mutual repulsion interactions. The second part covers the electrolyte solution in its nonstationary status-electrical conductivity, viscosity, and diffusion. This theoretical framework allows for the determination of activity coefficients of concentrated electrolyte solutions, which play a key role in many aspects of electrochemistry and for developing novel advanced processes in inorganic chemical plants.

Book Electrolytes Methods for Calculation of the Physicochemical Parameters of Multicomponent Systems

Download or read book Electrolytes Methods for Calculation of the Physicochemical Parameters of Multicomponent Systems written by Georgiĭ Georgievich Aseev and published by Begell House Publishers. This book was released on 2001-01-01 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Original methods of the calculation of the physicochemical properties of multicomponent systems are presented. A great number of coefficients in calculation formulas and calculation errors are given. Coefficients for the calculation formulas for the most widely used electrolytes are shown in a high-temperature region. Each method of the determination of a phyiochemical parameter is illustrated by calculation examples. Methods allow calculation of volumetric properties, equilibria in solutions, phase equilibria, thermal properties, solution properties, and transport phenomena.

Book Gas Hydrates 1

    Book Details:
  • Author : Daniel Broseta
  • Publisher : John Wiley & Sons
  • Release : 2017-08-07
  • ISBN : 1848219695
  • Pages : 309 pages

Download or read book Gas Hydrates 1 written by Daniel Broseta and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2017-08-07 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gas hydrates, or clathrate hydrates, are crystalline solids resembling ice, in which small (guest) molecules, typically gases, are trapped inside cavities formed by hydrogen-bonded water (host) molecules. They form and remain stable under low temperatures – often well below ambient conditions – and high pressures ranging from a few bar to hundreds of bar, depending on the guest molecule. Their presence is ubiquitous on Earth, in deep-marine sediments and in permafrost regions, as well as in outer space, on planets or comets. In addition to water, they can be synthesized with organic species as host molecules, resulting in milder stability conditions: these are referred to as semi-clathrate hydrates. Clathrate and semi-clathrate hydrates are being considered for applications as diverse as gas storage and separation, cold storage and transport and water treatment. This book is the first of two edited volumes, with chapters on the experimental and modeling tools used for characterizing and predicting the unique molecular, thermodynamic and kinetic properties of gas hydrates (Volume 1) and on gas hydrates in their natural environment and for potential industrial applications (Volume 2).
