Book Electroluminescent Displays

Download or read book Electroluminescent Displays written by Yoshimasa A. Ono and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1995 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses recent developments in electroluminescent (EL) displays, in particular thin-film EL displays, which are all-solid emissive displays with fast response, wide viewing angle, high resolution, wide operating temperature ranges and good display qualities. First, the characteristics of four types of EL devices are presented, and the physics of ac thin-film EL devices are detailed, including ideal models, measuring and evaluation methods, high-field electronic transport and properties of phosphor materials. The book emphasizes recent developments in phosphor materials for color thin-film EL devices based on ZnS, SrS, CaS and CaGa2S4, and multicolor thin-film EL panels in four-panel structures. Other important features discussed are drive methods and reliability issues.

Book The Latest Development in the Electroluminescent Display of Time Readout System

Download or read book The Latest Development in the Electroluminescent Display of Time Readout System written by LeRoy C. Meyer and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a report on the present "state of the art" in the development of a system for using electroluminescent indicators for digital display of timing information on motion picture film. It was found that a display, in the form of a matrix of dots, could be contact printed onto color film with an exposure time of one millisecond.

Book Computer Activated Electroluminescent Display Screen Application of Light and Image Intensification Techniques Phase i

Download or read book Computer Activated Electroluminescent Display Screen Application of Light and Image Intensification Techniques Phase i written by Martin Kaplan and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The report studies techniques necessary for a computer-activated, wide-angle display system capable of generating scenes. Ultimately, a universally useful training module would result enabling the adaption of the system to vehicle simulation. The objects to be displayed exist in computer storage. Perspective equations are utilized by a computer to provide a two-dimensional display in true perspective of static and dynamic figures on a non-programmed wide-angle display. The display is updated in a way determined by the position and orientation of a trainee during a simulated flight. The display screen is of the electroluminescent cross-grid type. A breadboard model was constructed to demonstrate the feasibility of the overall system recommended by the study phase, and to provide a research tool for additional system study. The breadboard model has been used to generate dynamic displays of two solid objects with changing perspective. A digital computer was ued as a tool to solve the perspective equations and represent the objects via the breadboard as they appear from a continuously moving point in space.

Book Visual Information Display Systems a Survey

Download or read book Visual Information Display Systems a Survey written by Auerbach Corporation and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Visual information display systems connected to computers are fast becoming commonplace. They are found now in stock brokers' offices and schools as well as in jetliner control panels. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration and its contractors have developed and operated display systems of this type that can span nearly the whole spectrum of applications. This survey of computer-related visual information display systems was undertaken for the NASA Office of Technology Utilization so that others may benefit from NASA's experience. The input-output capabilities of human beings, which determine the requirements for such systems, are likely to be much the same outside of the aerospace field as they are within it. This publication is intended especially for middle management personnel in areas in which the potential benefits from such modern technology have not yet been realized. The report describes hardware and software with wide applications and explains the large-scale checkout and control systems used at the John F. Kennedy Space Center, the Marshall Space Flight Center, and the Manned Spacecraft Center. It also reviews findings in the Ames Research Center, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and other government and private laboratories. The reader is introduced to interactive display systems, simulation displays, and image enhancement techniques. Most of the examples cited are from aerospace work, but they were chosen because of their potentially broad utility."--Foreword.
