Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Electrical Engineering Leaflets: Elementary Grade The Electrical Engineering Leaflets have been prepared for the purpose of presenting, concisely but accurately, some of the fundamental principles of electrical science, as employed in engineering practice. They have been arranged under three grades; namely, the Elementary, the Intermediate, and the Advanced. The Elementary Grade is intended for those electrical artisans, linemen, motormen, central station workmen, or electrical mechanics generally, who may not have advanced sufficiently far in their studies to warrant their undertaking the other grades. Here the mathematical treatment is limited to arithmetic, and the principles are illustrated by examples taken from actual practice. The Intermediate Grade is intended for students of electricity in high schools and colleges. In this grade a certain knowledge of the subjects of electricity and physics generally is assumed, and a fuller mathematical treatment is adopted. These leaflets, moreover, contain such information concerning the science of electricity, as should be acquired by those desiring general mental culture. The Advanced Grade is designed for students taking special courses in electrical engineering in colleges or universities. Here the treatment is more condensed and mathematical than in the other grades. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Outlines of Electrical EngineeringThe object of this introduction will have been attained if it cause the reader of the fol lowing pages to bear constantly in mind that the terminology employed, although enabling him to follow, and to a large extent to predict, the sequence of phenomena, is hardly compatible with the most modern theory. The terminology employed is extremely useful and, after all, terms are only terms, and not facts.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Heavy Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering. An examination of these books reveals on the part of their authors a conception of the preferential scope of the subject which is at complete variance with my conception. Hence, beyond the similarity of title, there is nothing ln common between the present treatise and these others. I have omitted routine descriptive material as well as the elementary generalities regarding electricity and magnetism, and I have directed my efforts to an attempt to familiarize the reader with various considerations and calculations of which a sound knowledge should be acquired in order to enable him effectively to engage in practical electrical engineering work. Book The Elements of Direct Current Electrical Engineering Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Elements of Direct Current Electrical Engineering Classic Reprint written by George Edward Condliffe and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-23 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Elements of Direct Current Electrical Engineering The main object of the authors of this work has been to bridge the gap existing between the elementary text-books on magnetism and simple current electricity, Ohm's Law, etc., and so many of the more advanced books which deal with the design point of view. Not only the authors, but also many of their friends, have often found difficulty in recommending to students a book which would, without containing many details of a nature more or less superfluous to the purpose, present in a concise form to second-year students at Universities and Technical Schools the theoretical principles underlying Direct Current Electrical Engineering. No attempt has been made to avoid the use of the Calculus where it simplifies proofs, since it is an essential to all students of engineering but, in this book, only a very elementary knowledge of that subject is demanded.
