Book Electric Distribution Network Planning

Download or read book Electric Distribution Network Planning written by Farhad Shahnia and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-04-09 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights the latest research advances in the planning and management of electric distribution networks. It addresses various aspects of distribution network management including planning, operation, customer engagement, and technology accommodation. Given the importance of electric distribution networks in power delivery systems, effectively planning and managing them are vital to satisfying technical, economic, and customer requirements. A new planning and management philosophy, techniques, and methods are essential to handling uncertainties associated with the integration of renewable-based distributed generation, demand forecast, and customer needs. This book covers topics on managing the capacity of distribution networks, while also addressing the future needs of electric systems. The efficient and economical operation of distribution networks is an essential aspect of ensuring the effective use of resources. Accordingly, this book addresses operation and control approaches and techniques suitable for future distribution networks.

Book Random Walks and Electric Networks

Download or read book Random Walks and Electric Networks written by Peter G. Doyle and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1984-12-31 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Probability theory, like much of mathematics, is indebted to physics as a source of problems and intuition for solving these problems. Unfortunately, the level of abstraction of current mathematics often makes it difficult for anyone but an expert to appreciate this fact. Random Walks and electric networks looks at the interplay of physics and mathematics in terms of an example—the relation between elementary electric network theory and random walks —where the mathematics involved is at the college level.

Book Matroid Theory and its Applications in Electric Network Theory and in Statics

Download or read book Matroid Theory and its Applications in Electric Network Theory and in Statics written by Andras Recski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I. The topics of this book The concept of a matroid has been known for more than five decades. Whitney (1935) introduced it as a common generalization of graphs and matrices. In the last two decades, it has become clear how important the concept is, for the following reasons: (1) Combinatorics (or discrete mathematics) was considered by many to be a collection of interesting, sometimes deep, but mostly unrelated ideas. However, like other branches of mathematics, combinatorics also encompasses some gen eral tools that can be learned and then applied, to various problems. Matroid theory is one of these tools. (2) Within combinatorics, the relative importance of algorithms has in creased with the spread of computers. Classical analysis did not even consider problems where "only" a finite number of cases were to be studied. Now such problems are not only considered, but their complexity is often analyzed in con siderable detail. Some questions of this type (for example, the determination of when the so called "greedy" algorithm is optimal) cannot even be answered without matroidal tools.

Book Electric Circuits and Networks

Download or read book Electric Circuits and Networks written by K. S. Suresh Kumar and published by Pearson Education India. This book was released on 2009 with total page 844 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electric Circuits and Networks is designed to serve as a textbook for a two-semester undergraduate course on basic electric circuits and networks. The book builds on the subject from its basic principles. Spread over seventeen chapters, the book can be taught with varying degree of emphasis on its six subsections based on the course requirement. Written in a student-friendly manner, its narrative style places adequate stress on the principles that govern the behaviour of electric circuits and networks.

Book Handbook of Research on Energy Saving Technologies for Environmentally Friendly Agricultural Development

Download or read book Handbook of Research on Energy Saving Technologies for Environmentally Friendly Agricultural Development written by Kharchenko, Valeriy and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2019-07-05 with total page 554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: World population growth and the related increase in the demand for food and other goods has intensified agricultural production throughout the world. Some of today's technologies are characterized by relatively low productivity and high consumption of energy resources. The Handbook of Research on Energy-Saving Technologies for Environmentally-Friendly Agricultural Development is a comprehensive research publication that provides insight into new technologies that create efficient and environmentally-friendly energy potential sufficient for the organization of industrial and social-economic activity in rural areas. Highlighting a variety of topics such as economic development, renewable energy, and climate change, this book is ideal for agricultural business executives, engineers, scientists, environmentalists, entrepreneurs, academicians, researchers, students, and those working in the agro-industrial and housing and communal services sectors.

Book Electric Power Engineering

Download or read book Electric Power Engineering written by Olle Elgerd and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 463 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about electric energy: its generation, its transmission from the point of generation to where it is required, and its transformation into required forms. To achieve this end, a number of devices are essential-such as generators, trans mission lines, transformers, and electric motors. We discuss the design, construc tion, and operating characteristics of the electric devices used in the transformation to and from electric energy. This text is designed to be used in a one-semester course in electric energy con version at the second-year level of the Bachelor of Engineering course. It is assumed that the student is familiar with the laws of thermodynamics and has taken a course in basic circuit analysis, including the application of phasors. We begin with a discussion of how humankind has successfully harnessed the energy of wind, water, the sun, biomass, animals, geothermal sources, fossils, and nuclear fission to make its life comfortable. Some of the consequences of this activity on the environment are examined. In Chapter 2, we review the basic physics of energy and its conversion. This may be, to some extent, a repetition of knowledge gained in high-school and first year university courses. However, we believe that such review is necessary to establish a suitable base from which to launch the subject of electric energy con version.
