Treinta y tres años después, son mujeres ricas y exitosas con el magnífico negocio del hotel pero Abby nunca puede estar feliz sin localizar a su hija y las pistas que ha seguido le indican que ha de ser una de las tres mujeres que ha invitado. Sin embargo, por las cosas que le cuentan, ha de descartar a las tres. Por buscar a su hija, Abby se ha puesto en peligro y ahora le está buscando Michael Fallon, el responsable de la red ilegal de adopción que le quitó a su niña. Fallon se ha convertido en empresario poderoso, propietario de casinos en Las Vegas y decide que ha de eliminar a Abby antes de que descubra los negocios sucios de su pasado. Francesca, la hija de Fallon, está a punto de casarse con un chico de familia muy respetable y Fallon sabe que todo se podría arruinar si salen sus secretos a la luz. Michael va a The Grove para matar a Abby, y Francesca, que sospecha de algo, persigue a su padre. Finalmente Abby encuentra a la hija que ha buscado durante todos estos años: es Francesca. Murieron la esposa de Michael y su hija en el parto y él sustituyó a su hija muerta con uno de los bebés robados: la hija de Abby. Pero Fallon no consigue su fin. Es él quien morirá y Francesca y Abby se conocerán después de todo y se prevé un final feliz para los que lo merecen. De alguna forma todos los personajes de la novela empiezan con secretos y temores que no les permiten vivir plenamente y en este hotel tan especial aprenden a disfrutar de sus vidas y a enfrentar los secretos oscuros de su pasado.
