Book Colloidal Minerals and Trace Elements

Download or read book Colloidal Minerals and Trace Elements written by Marie-France Muller and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2005-03-21 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to effectively use colloidal mineral and trace element supplements to compensate for the deficiencies in our diet that cause ill health • Includes a complete list of all trace elements and their ideal combinations for addressing health imbalances • Examines why our food is no longer nutritious enough to supply the body's mineral and trace element needs and how to address this problem Much of the ill health and lack of vitality people complain of today can be traced to a deficiency of minerals and trace elements in our diets. The food we eat is no longer keeping us healthy. Modern farming methods have depleted the natural mineral reserves of the soil, and as a result the foods we eat are increasingly deficient in the nutrients needed for proper functioning of the body. Minerals are essential catalysts that allow vitamins, enzymes, and other nutrients to perform their necessary roles in the body and promote proper mental function. Simply taking standard mineral supplements will not correct any imbalances we may experience because our bodies are designed to best absorb and use minerals that are in a colloidal form: the soluble suspended state in which plants absorb minerals from the soil. Colloidal mineral supplements, however, can increase vitality and strengthen the immune system because 98 percent of the supplement is incorporated into the body as opposed to the 3-5 percent absorption of standard mineral supplements. Colloidal Minerals and Trace Elements details 55 trace elements and their beneficial effects and explains the ideal combinations of colloid supplements to use based on your health concerns.

Book Advances in Teacher Emotion Research

Download or read book Advances in Teacher Emotion Research written by Paul A. Schutz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-08-14 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some reports estimate that nearly 50% of teachers entering the profession leave within the first five years (Alliance for Excellent Education 2004; Ingersoll, 2003; Quality Counts 2000). One explanation of why teachers leave the profession so early in their career might be related to the emotional nature of the teaching profession. For example, teaching is an occupation that involves considerable emotional labor. Emotional labor involves the effort, planning, and control teachers need to express organizationally desired emotions during interpersonal transactions. As such, emotional labor has been associated with job dissatisfaction, health symptoms and emotional exhaustion, which are key components of burnout and related to teachers who drop out of the profession. Research into emotional labor in teaching and other aspects of teachers’ emotions is becoming increasingly important not only because of the growing number of teachers leaving the profession, but also because unpleasant classroom emotions have considerable implications for student learning, school climate and the quality of education in general. Using a variety of different methodological and theoretical approaches, the authors in this edited volume, Advances in Teacher Emotion Research: The Impact on Teachers’ Lives, provide a systematic overview that enriches our understanding of the role of emotions in teachers’ professional lives and work. More specifically, the authors discuss inquiry related to teachers’ emotions in educational reform, teacher identity, student involvement, race/class/gender issues, school administration and inspection, emotional labor, teacher burnout and several other related issues. This volume, then, represents the accumulation of different epistemological and theoretical positions related to inquiry on teachers’ emotions, acknowledging that emotions are core components of teachers’ lives. Advances in Teacher Emotion Research takes an eclectic look at teacher emotions, presenting current research from diverse perspectives, thereby making this volume a significant contribution to the field.

Book The 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva

Download or read book The 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva written by David Tuffley and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2011-03-25 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thirty-seven Practices of a Bodhisattva is an ancient text written in the 14th Century BCE by Tokme Zangpo, a Buddhist monk and scholar who was born in Puljung, south west of the Sakya Monastery in Tibet. Thirty-seven Practices seeks to make clear the day-to-day behavior of a Bodhisattva (an nlightened being on their way to attaining full Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings). It serves as a practical guide for those people seeking to travel the path of enlightenment. Though short in length, a person could spend a lifetime perfecting the practices. The work can be seen as a companion to Santideva's classic work the Bodhicaryavatara. While there are English translations of this text, they are a little difficult to understand for many readers living in the 21st Century. The mode of expression and the figures of speech are the product of that far-off time. This book faithfully re-expresses in modern day language the underlying message of the original text. Every effort has been made to preserve the underlying spirit of the message. This work respects the beauty of the original text, yet it brings the even greater beauty of the underlying message to a whole new audience in the modern world who might otherwise find the original text less than easy to fully understand. If you are embarking on the path to nlightenment, or just curious, this little book could be just the change agent you have been looking for. It is said to be one of the Dalai Lama's favorite texts.

Book Extending Educational Change

Download or read book Extending Educational Change written by Andy Hargreaves and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-12-12 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ANDY HARGREAVES Department of Teacher Education, Curriculum and Instruction Lynch School of Education, Boston College, MA, U.S.A. ANN LIEBERMAN Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Stanford, CA, U.S.A. MICHAEL FULLAN Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, Canada DAVID HOPKINS Department for Education and Skills, London, U.K. This set of four volumes on Educational Change brings together evidence and insights on educational change issues from leading writers and researchers in the field from across the world. Many of these writers, whose chapters have been specially written for these books, have been investigating, helping initiate and implementing educational change, for most or all of their lengthy careers. Others are working on the cutting edge of theory and practice in educational change, taking the field in new or even more challenging directions. And some are more skeptical about the literature of educational change and the assumptions on which it rests. They help us to approach projects of understanding or initiating educational change more deeply, reflectively and realistically. Educational change and reform have rarely had so much prominence within public policy, in so many different places. Educational change is ubiquitous. It figures large in Presidential and Prime Ministerial speeches. It is at or near the top of many National policy agendas. Everywhere, educational change is not only a policy priority but also major public news. Yet action to bring about educational change usually exceeds people's understanding of how to do so effectively.

Book Primary Teachers Talking

Download or read book Primary Teachers Talking written by Professor Jennifer Nias and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2002-06-01 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is it like to be a primary teacher? The first detailed study of the personal and professional experience of primary teachers in England and Wales, Primary Teachers Talking makes extensive use of verbatim evidence supplied by teachers during interviews in their first decade of work and again ten years later. In Part I Jennifer Nias discusses the importance attached to the ways in which primary teachers see themselves and the main dimensions of that self-image. In Part II, she examines the subjective experience of 'being a primary teacher', looking at the main factors which contribute to job satisfaction and dissatisfaction, and at teachers' relationships with their colleagues. She shows that to 'feel like a teacher' is to learn to live with dilemma, contradiction and paradox and - at its best - to experience in their resolution the creative satisfactions of the artist.
