Se confirma que pasan por las mismas etapas que los niños sin discapacidad pero a distintas edad cronológica. Con una adecuada metodología basada en el lenguaje verbal este desfase se reduce. No se analiza sólo a nivel formal sino que la expresión gráfica redunda en beneficio de los procesos de aprendizaje. Se utiliza el dibujo como medio de desarrollo cognitivo incidiendo en procesos de atención y memoria. Y como a través de la expresión gráfica se potencia el desarrollo del lenguaje verbal y del escrito. Se plantea la actitud del profesional ante las personas con discapacidad.
