Since farmers and consumers, as well as middlemen, whether employed cooperatively, privately or publicly, are all performing some of these services, the question of fair compensation is. ever before the public. The problem of marketing, however, is not likely to be solved until people generally realize the necessity not only of having necessary services performed, but of having them performed by the most efficient methods and by agencies that in functioning take a minimum share of the consumer's dollar. The subject is treated from the point of view of the common interests of farmers, consumers and middlemen. The author wishes to express his thanks especially to Professor Richard T.
