Des processus de traitements communs ont été trouvés avec le langage, inspirant des études avec entraînement musical visant des bénéfices sur différentes composantes langagières. Au moyen de la plasticité cérébrale et de transferts positifs entre ces différentes habiletés, les résultats se sont avérés encourageants. Par ailleurs, l’implication de l’attention sous ses différentes formes dans le traitement du langage a été également explorée : il est fréquent qu’un trouble du langage soit corrélé avec un trouble de l’attention. Enfin, l’attention étant impliquée dans le traitement de la musique, il a pu être bénéfique de proposer une stimulation musicale là où l’attention était déficitaire. Nous avons donc conçu un protocole visant à mesurer l’impact d’un entraînement musical de six semaines sur différentes sous-composantes attentionnelles, et par extension sur le traitement métaphonologique du langage. Deux enfants porteurs d’un trouble à type de déficit de l’attention ont suivi cet entraînement, avec une série de pré-tests et des post-tests. Deux autres enfants porteurs du même trouble ont suivi un entraînement contrôle, avec l’écoute de livres audio. Les résultats montrent que l’inhibition progresse ainsi que la stabilité attentionnelle pour les deux enfants ayant suivi l’entraînement musical. Les performances métaphonologiques ont également mieux progressé chez ces enfants. L’attention soutenue progresse pour les quatre enfants, ce qui se justifie par le fait que les activités des deux entraînements suscitaient également une attention soutenue. Certains biais sont à prendre en compte, mais les résultats sont encourageants.
