Book The Absorption of Gold Cyanide Onto Activated Carbon 3 Factors Influencing the Rate of Loading and the Equilibrium Capacity

Download or read book The Absorption of Gold Cyanide Onto Activated Carbon 3 Factors Influencing the Rate of Loading and the Equilibrium Capacity written by and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The results are reported of experiments on the influence of a number of variables on the rate of loading of gold cyanide onto activated carbon and the equilibrium capacity of the carbon. These variables include the concentrations of gold and free cyanide in solution, the pH value and ionic strength of the solution, the concentration of organic compounds in the solution, the temperature, the particle size of the carbon, and the mixing efficiency. The experiments were carried out under approximately steady-state conditions to simulate the conditions in a countercurrent carbon-in-pulp absorption plant. In addition, the results are reported of experiments to establish whether the absorption of gold cyanide onto activated carbon is a reversible process.

Book The Absorption of Gold Cyanide Onto Activated Carbon 1 The Kinetics of Absorption from Pulps

Download or read book The Absorption of Gold Cyanide Onto Activated Carbon 1 The Kinetics of Absorption from Pulps written by and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An account is given of the development of a relatively simple model that describes the kinetics of the absorption of gold cyanide on activated carbon. The model is based on the treatment of the carbon-solution interface as a homogeneous boundary across which gold is transported at a rate determined by the rate of mass transport to and from the interface. Rate equations derived from this model describe the results of various kinetic experiments under continuous or batch conditions in the laboratory and on operating pilot and full-scale plants.

Book The Absorption of Gold Cyanide Onto Activated Carbon 2 Application of the Kinetic Model to Multistage Absorption Circuits

Download or read book The Absorption of Gold Cyanide Onto Activated Carbon 2 Application of the Kinetic Model to Multistage Absorption Circuits written by and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A relatively simple rate equation for the kinetics of the absorption of gold from cyanide solutions onto activated carbon was used as the basis in the development of a model for multistage carbon-in-pulp and carbon-in-leach absorption circuits. The model was used in the prediction of both the steady-state and the transient behaviour of the absorption process, and the results were found to be in reasonable agreement with those observed in an extended pilot-plant campaign. A number of practical implications of the model are discussed, and an assessment is made of the economic consequences of the various process options available for the design of a carbon-in-pulp plant.

Book Adsorption of Gold from Cyanide Solution Onto Mineral Surfaces

Download or read book Adsorption of Gold from Cyanide Solution Onto Mineral Surfaces written by and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 2 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a typical gold recovery plant, it is estimated that as much as 0.2 grams per ton of the gold reporting to the tailings is in a form that is theoretically recoverable; however, this gold is lost. Possible causes of this phenomenon include adsorption of the gold cyanide onto carbonaceous materials or onto various minerals, insufficient leaching time, and abraded activated carbon loss. This gold loss equates to about R13 million of potential revenue to this country alone. The aim of the present work was therefore to investigate the adsorption behaviour of gold onto several pure mineral surfaces that are common in gold ores, and to extablish the presence and significance of such an effect.

Book The Recovery Of Gold From Secondary Sources

Download or read book The Recovery Of Gold From Secondary Sources written by Syed Sabir and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2016-06-29 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New discoveries of the properties of gold at a nanoscale, and its effective use in modern technologies, have been driving a virtual 'gold rush'. Depleting natural resources has meant that the recovery of gold continues to grow in importance and relevance. The Recovery of Gold from Secondary Sources analyses the most advanced technology in gold recovery and recycling from spent sources of mobile phones, unwanted electronic equipment and waste materials. State-of-the-art techniques of hydrometallurgical and bio-metallurgical processing, leaching, cementing, adsorbing and separation through bio-sorbents are all described in detail, providing a guide for students and researchers. Discussion of environmentally friendly methods of recovery are presented, in order to provide modern-day alternatives to previous techniques. For those interested in the study of gold recovery this book gives a comprehensive overview of current recovery, making it the ultimate source of information for students, researchers, chemists, metallurgists, environmental scientists and electronic waste recovery experts.

Book Advances in Gold Ore Processing

Download or read book Advances in Gold Ore Processing written by Mike D. Adams and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2005-12-02 with total page 1077 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The gold processing industry is experiencing change. As free-milling and oxide ores become depleted, more complex polymetallic and refractory ores are being processed, coupled with increasing pressure for stricter environmental compliance. Recent years have also seen a steady reduction in mineral processing and metallurgy graduates and a gradual loss of older operating experience. A contribution to documenting current and future best practice in gold ore processing seems timely. The focus of this volume is on advances in current gold plant operation, from conception to closure; chapters also cover innovations at the bench and pilot-scale level that would be expected to find commercial application at some stage. Sufficient coverage is also given to the chemistry and engineering aspects. The general principle behind the structure of the volume is that of flowsheeting based on unit operations and applied to a mineralogical classification of gold ore types. From concept to closure, this book covers all unit operations, mineralogies and processes that are relevant to dealing with today's complex orebodies.Practical experience is vital to the successful development, operation and closure of any operation. The 42 chapters have been contributed by a total of 66 authors and co-authors who are experts from countries spanning the globe, and representing exhaustive practical knowledge covering many disciplines relevant to gold processing.* Current best practice as elucidated by a select panel of experts in the field* Innovations at the bench and pilot-scale level that would be expected to find commercial application at some stage* Mineralogical-based approach to flowsheeting
