Akhila and published by Ashok Yakkaldevi. This book was released on 2022-09-29 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Weight training refers to any type of training that involves the body moving in same direction against a force that resists that movement and is supplied by some type of weight including free weights and weight machines [8]. Weight training using near one-repetition (1RM) weight at low velocity has been found to improve the muscle’s ability to generate force, but the increase in strength may not be effective at velocities that stimulate the speed of sport performance [3]. Muscular strength is much different from muscular endurance. Strength is a measure of how much force your muscles can exert, while endurance is the measure of how many times your muscles can repeat a specific exertion of force. Unlike muscular endurance which is controlled by slow twitch fibers, strength is determined by fast twitch fibers which focus more on quick bursts of energy rather than long, drawn out ones.

Book EFFECT OF CONTINUOUS RUNNING AND INTERVAL RUNNING ON SELECTED PHYSICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS

Download or read book EFFECT OF CONTINUOUS RUNNING AND INTERVAL RUNNING ON SELECTED PHYSICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS written by PRASHOBHITH K.P and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-08-14 with total page 47 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 10 Km, Half-Marathon, and Marathon races are all classified as continuous running and interval running events. They require athletes to run at their predetermined paces with the minimum expenditure of energy at the same time. At higher levels of competitions, athletes should also be able to accelerate and vary their speeds according to the race situations. Sound running techniques and proper distribution of efforts throughout the race are undoubtedly important for outstanding performance in these running events. On the whole, performance of such events is the combined results of technical, physical, mental, and nutritional preparation

Book PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT INTENSIVE CIRCUIT TRAINING ON SELECTED MOTOR FITNESS PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL STATISTICS

Download or read book PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT INTENSIVE CIRCUIT TRAINING ON SELECTED MOTOR FITNESS PHYSIOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL STATISTICS written by Dr.Sujith S and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-02-07 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fitness is the ability to live a full and balanced life. Greater the physical fitness the better the physical endurance and precision of movement will be, which are essential for our daily work of life. The improvement and maintenance of physical fitness or condition is perhaps the most important aim of sports training. Each person requires a different type and level of physical condition and as a result different type of fitness training or conditioning is required for different people. All forms of physical activities aim at improving physical fitness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physiological study in relation to exercise and actual physical demand during event is very important to critically understand physiological basis of performance. The fatigue causing factors workload, recovery pattern from fatigue etc. should be very specifically understood in real terms. Understanding this background, the research scholar took up research project to investigate in- depth and detailed Physiological responses of two Long distance running events 5000mts and 10,000mts.Research scholar being a University level athlete and having completed masters degree in athletics, the selection of area was most appropriate and natural choice. In this context in depth investigations on Physiological basis of long distance runners is crucially important for high performance training implications. In this respect identified two groups of parameters that were considered significant indicator and basis of aerobic as well as anaerobic capacity- Lactate response, Blood Glucose, VO2 max., Respiratory rate, Heart rate and Lactate Dehydrogenase ( LDH) were chosen as the Indicators of physiological responses and fatigue of long distance runners.

Book Regulation of Endurance Performance New Frontiers

Download or read book Regulation of Endurance Performance New Frontiers written by Alexis R. Mauger and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2017-11-22 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Successful endurance performance requires the integration of multiple physiological and psychological systems, working together to regulate exercise intensity in a way that will reduce time taken or increase work done. The systems that ultimately limit performance of the task are hotly contested, and may depend on a variety of factors including the type of task, the environment, external influences, training status of the individual and a host of psychological constructs. These factors can be studied in isolation, or inclusively as a whole-body or integrative system. A reductionist approach has traditionally been favoured, leading to a greater understanding and emphasis on muscle and cardiovascular physiology, but the role of the brain and how this integrates multiple systems is gaining momentum. However, these differing approaches may have led to false dichotomy, and now with better understanding of both fields, there is a need to bring these perspectives together. The divergent viewpoints of the limitations to human performance may have partly arisen because of the different exercise models studied. These can broadly be defined as open loop (where a fixed intensity is maintained until task disengagement), or closed loop (where a fixed distance is completed in the fastest time), which may involve whole-body or single-limb exercise. Closed loop exercise allows an analysis of how exercise intensity is self-regulated (i.e. pacing), and thus may better reflect the demands of competitive endurance performance. However, whilst this model can monitor changes in pacing, this is often at the expense of detecting subtle differences in the measured physiological or psychological variables of interest. Open loop exercise solves this issue, but is limited by its more restrictive exercise model. Nonetheless, much can be learnt from both experimental approaches when these constraints are recognised. Indeed, both models appear equally effective in examining changes in performance, and so the researcher should select the exercise model which can most appropriately test the study hypothesis. Given that a multitude of both internal (e.g. muscle fatigue, perception of effort, dietary intervention, pain etc.) and external (e.g. opponents, crowd presence, course topography, extrinsic reward etc.) factors likely contribute to exercise regulation and endurance performance, it may be that both models are required to gain a comprehensive understanding. Consequently, this research topic seeks to bring together papers on endurance performance from a variety of paradigms and exercise models, with the overarching aim of comparing, examining and integrating their findings to better understand how exercise is regulated and how this may (or may not) limit performance.
