Download or read book The Laws of Thinking written by Bishop E. Bernard Jordan and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2008-02-01 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bishop Jordan has written a stellar work that is guaranteed to free the mentally enslaved, acquit the wrongfully charged, and bring healing to the sick. The Laws of Thinking is not a work for the shallow-minded person. It is demanding and challenging. It is neither intended to be used as the basis for unmerited criticism nor as sermon material for the minister having difficulty receiving a fresh work from the Lord. It was written with a very clear aim: to provoke spiritual thought. Bill Gates’ Microsoft, Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions, Stephen Spielberg’s DreamWorks, and even his own Zo? Ministries all began with a thought. Every invention, university, book, song, business, home, skyscraper, movie, stage play, and baby began when someone chose to think. Nothing happens without thought. Creation did not happen without God’s thought. Bishop Jordan’s first objective is getting you to think.

Download or read book The Urinary Sediment written by Giovanni B. Fogazzi and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1999 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From review from the Lancet of the first edition in comparison with a competing title: 'Every nephrologist knows and teaches that urine microscopy is an important diagnostic aid. What has been urgently needed is a colour guide to the subject.....I preferred the pictures in the European book. They were of high quality, not repetitive and with clear legends...if I wanted to teach myself.. then the European book was well ahead. The latter is also accompanied by an elegant introductory essay by JS Cameron on the history of urine analysis. Every renal unit needs at least one of these books.' The Lancet' These few comments should not obscure the significant contribution of The Urinary Sediment to the diagnostic armamentarium of the nephrologist. Each renal unit should have a copy for daily clinical discussions...Finally this book should be included in the required reading list of courses in renal medicine.' Nephrology Dialysis TransplantationThis is the second edition of a full colour reference atlas published first to excellent reviews in 1994. Every renal unit needs to have a reference text of this kind and urine microscopy is an important diagnostic aid in nephrology. After the 'Historical Introduction' by J Stewart Cameron, chapter 1 descibes the methods used to prepare and analyse the urine samples. Chapter 2, which is the most important section of the book, describes with the help of 249 illustrations (over 200 in full colour) the elements of the urinary sediment. Chapter 3 deals with the urinary sediment of the normal subject, while chapter 4 deals with the urinary changes which are observed in the main diseases of the kidney and urinary tract. Chapter 5 describes the changes of the urinary sediment caused by drugs. Chapter 6 is about the interpretation of the urinary findings shown in the previous chapters. Chapter 7 covers the new systems to analyse the urinary sediments. An appendix shows how to adjust the microscope to analyse the urine specimens. The primary audience is practising nephrologists and nephrologists in training, and also those in internal medicine rotating through the renal unit who perform routinely the analysis of the urinary sediment. Clinical pathologists would also find this an attractive and useful book. The illustrations are outstanding and additional clinical information has been added in this new edition. From review from the Lancet of the first edition in comparison with a competing title: 'Every nephrologist knows and teaches that urine microscopy is an important diagnostic aid. What has been urgently needed is a colour guide to the subject.....I preferred the pictures in the European book. They were of high quality, not repetitive and with clear legends...if I wanted to teach myself.. then the European book was well ahead. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Targeted specifically at A-Level students, the Challenging History series provides a continuation from the GCSE approach, whilst also taking into account changes in the A-Level syllabus and historical research. By closely examining documentary evidence and posing questions, the six books in the series provide accessible guides to history from the 15th century onwards. Each chapter in the books is divided into four sections - preview, text, examining evidence and focus. The preview section is a presentation designed to arouse students' interest and to lay out the major themes of the chapter. The text sections contain a narrative of the period. The examining evidence sections present the student with a wide variety of historical sources and the focus section highlights particular events, people and issues of the period. Talking points scattered throughout the books encourage students to question their preconceptions and test ideas. There are also questions in every chapter, which invite the students to discuss the issues and present written responses.
