Download or read book The Routledge Companion to Consumer Behavior Analysis written by Gordon R. Foxall and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-08-20 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Routledge Companion to Consumer Behavior Analysis provides a unique and eclectic combination of behavioral, cognitive and environmental perspectives to illuminate the real-world complexities of consumer choice in a marketing-oriented economy. Edited by a leading authority in the field, the contributing authors have created a unique anthology for understanding consumer preference by bringing together the very latest research and thinking in consumer behavior analysis. This comprehensive and innovative volume ranges over a broad multi-disciplinary perspective from economic psychology, behavioral psychology and experimental economics, but its chief focus is on the critical evaluation of consumer choice in the natural settings of affluent, marketing-oriented economies. By focussing on human economic and social choices, which involve social exchange, it explores and reveals the enormous potential of consumer behavior analysis to illuminate the role of modern marketing-oriented business organizations in shaping and responding to consumer choice. This will be of particular interest to academics, researchers and advanced students in marketing, consumer behavior, behavior analysis, social psychology, behavioral economics and behavioral psychology.

Download or read book Consumers in Context written by Gordon Foxall and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-01-29 with total page 573 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, first published in 1996, presents a collection of papers by Gordon Foxall charting the development of the Behavioural Perspective Model (BPM) which he devised in the early 1980s and subsequently developed. The model offers a unique and original behaviour-based theory of consumer choice. In seeking to answer the question ‘where does consumer choice take place?’ by drawing upon behavioural psychology, Foxall presents an exciting challenge to previous theories whose emphasis has been on the internal working of the consumer’s mind in reaching rational decisions and choices. Bringing alive the important subject of economic consumption, this seminal volume will be of great interest to students and researchers in consumer research.

Download or read book Measurement Quantification and Economic Analysis written by Ingrid H. Rima and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2002-09-11 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most economists assume that the mathematical and quantative sides of their science are relatively recent developments. Measurement, Quantification and Economic Analysis shows that this is a misconception. Its authors argue that economists have long relied on measurement and quantification as essential tools. However, problems have arisen in adapting these tools from other fields. Ultimately, the authors are sceptical about the role which measurement and quantification tools now play in contemporary economic theory.

Download or read book Optimal Regulation and the Law of International Trade written by Boris Rigod and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2015-11-13 with total page 487 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are the limitations imposed on World Trade Organization (WTO) members' right to regulate efficient? This is a question that is only scarcely, if ever, analysed in existing literature. Boris Rigod aims to provide an answer to this fundamental concern. Using the tools of economic analysis and in particular the concept of economic efficiency as a benchmark, the author states that domestic regulatory measures should only be subject to scrutiny by WTO bodies when they cause negative international externalities through terms of trade manipulations. He then suggests that WTO law, applied by the WTO judiciary can prevent WTO members from attaining optimal levels of regulation. By applying a law and economics methodology, Rigod provides an innovative solution to the problem of how to reconcile members' regulatory autonomy and WTO rules as well as offering a novel analytical framework for assessing domestic regulations in the light of WTO law.

It is within this intricate framework of individual choices, market dynamics, and policy implications that the foundation of economic understanding is laid. "Microeconomic Foundations: Theory, Application, and Policy" is conceived with the ambition to bridge the realms of theoretical microeconomics and its practical applications, offering a comprehensive guide that navigates through the core principles, contemporary issues, and the multifaceted role of policy in shaping economic outcomes. This book is the culmination of years of teaching, research, and engagement with the practical aspects of microeconomics. It is designed to serve a broad audience, from undergraduate students grappling with the basics of the discipline to graduate scholars exploring advanced concepts, and professionals seeking to apply microeconomic principles to real-world scenarios. The genesis of this work lies in the recognition of the need for a text that not only elucidates the theoretical underpinnings of microeconomics but also demonstrates the application of these theories in addressing contemporary economic challenges.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As conceived by the founders of the Econometric Society, econometrics is a field that uses economic theory and statistical methods to address empirical problems in economics. It is a tool for empirical discovery and policy analysis. The chapters in this volume embody this vision and either implement it directly or provide the tools for doing so. This vision is not shared by those who view econometrics as a branch of statistics rather than as a distinct field of knowledge that designs methods of inference from data based on models of human choice behavior and social interactions. All of the essays in this volume and its companion volume 6B offer guidance to the practitioner on how to apply the methods they discuss to interpret economic data. The authors of the chapters are all leading scholars in the fields they survey and extend.*Part of the renowned Handbooks in Economics Series*Updates and expands the exisiting Handbook of Econometrics volumes*An invaluable reference written by some of the world's leading econometricians.
