Book Economic Implications of the North Slope

Download or read book Economic Implications of the North Slope written by Ronald W. Beil and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper originated as a class requirement to identify and explore the economic implications of the oil discovery on the North Slope in Alaska. In our search for facts, many questions arose to which there seemed relatively few answers. What is to be done with the 900 million dollars paid to Alaskans for lease rights? What are the immediate needs in Alaska? What are the services and supplies that will be necessary in expediting the removal of oil? Basically, how can we as potential businessmen profit from the discovery. This paper was not written as a means to profit. It was written and printed because we feel there is a need for the business-men of the West Coast to conceptualize the vastness of this discovery. This report is the only all encompassing compilation of facts about the North Slope that we know of. It is by no means complete because of the speed in which oil developments take place. It is, however, an up to date factual report on the developments in Alaska. The second phase of our project is to continue to provide information about Alaskan developments. We are willing to negotiate with any firm to study specific areas of interest.
