Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hungary’s 2007 Article IV Consultation reports that with fiscal consolidation on track for 2007 and 2008, short-term risks have receded, especially owing to the favorable international financial environment. Ensuring that the current economic slowdown does not translate into a prolonged period of low growth is important both for raising standards of living and for containing vulnerabilities. Putting the debt on a sustainable downward trend will also require a substantial decrease in the size of government expenditure in relation to GDP.

Download or read book Hungary written by International Monetary Fund and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 1982-12-04 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper presents an overview of the economy of Hungary. The paper highlights that during the Fifth Five-Year Plan (1976–80), actual growth rates for almost all major plan aggregates remained below the targets. The lower targets set for the increase in both consumption and investment in the 1976–80 plan relative to the rates achieved during 1971–75, reflected the government’s policy of moderating the growth of domestic demand. The actual average annual growth rate for investment closely approximated, whereas that of private consumption fell far short of the plan targets.

Book Rethinking Gender Work and Care in a New Europe

Download or read book Rethinking Gender Work and Care in a New Europe written by Triin Roosalu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-04-29 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Given the growing importance of Eastern European countries in the development of the EU, there is an urgent need to reconstruct the recent dynamic developments in women's work and care in these societies, and the socio-political determinants thereof. Considering their specific cultural, economic and historical development, it can be assumed that the trends and determinants of women's labour market trajectories in CEE countries differ significantly from those in the other European countries that have frequently made up the basis for established theories in social and labour market research. This being the case, can 'standard' theoretical approaches, mostly modelled on evidence from Western Europe, be transferred to the analysis of Eastern European countries? This edited collection scrutinises pivotal aspects of women's careers in Eastern Europe, providing a detailed overview of trends and determinants of women's employment in Eastern Europe, and reflecting critically on theoretical approaches in social and labour market research.
