ABOUT THE BOOKS LEVEL 1 and LEVEL 2 of the ROAD TRIP READERS *provide short, sharp reading experiences brimming with success for beginning readers; *include very supportive illustrations beside only one or two lines of repetitive text on each page in LEVEL 1, and only three lines in LEVEL 2; *have large print, as well as double spacing between words and lines; *gradually introduce sight words in each book (no more than three at LEVEL 1 or five at LEVEL 2). Sight words are frequently used words which can be remembered as a whole and recognized quickly by sight. From LEVEL 3 onwards, the ROAD TRIP READERS continue to have supportive illustrations and a measured introduction of new sight words. There are also more pages and the text becomes less repetitive, with more of a story line. Any new skill requires a great deal of practice and reading is no different. The ROAD TRIP READERS will provide an opportunity for children to practice and to experience success as they begin their road trip to reading. LEVEL 3 will be available soon.
