The traditional, direct model coupled with the coaching model was reported to have better outcomes in intervention with this population than the coaching-only, transdisciplinary, or transdisciplinary + coaching models. The more training a SLP had in a particular model, the more the SLP used that model in intervention. Despite the Idaho Infant Toddler Program0́9s implementation of the transdisciplinary + coaching model, the traditional model of therapy was reportedly most used by the SLPs surveyed and received the most positive feedback from parents. Those who work with children transitioning to preschool from early intervention also reported better adaptation by those children who had been exposed to traditional therapy. No one method was seen as more cost efficient than another.
