Book Dynamics of Vehicle Road Coupled System

Download or read book Dynamics of Vehicle Road Coupled System written by Shaopu Yang and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-04-29 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vehicle dynamics and road dynamics are usually considered to be two largely independent subjects. In vehicle dynamics, road surface roughness is generally regarded as random excitation of the vehicle, while in road dynamics, the vehicle is generally regarded as a moving load acting on the pavement. This book suggests a new research concept to integrate the vehicle and the road system with the help of a tire model, and establishes a cross-subject research framework dubbed vehicle-pavement coupled system dynamics. In this context, the dynamics of the vehicle, road and the vehicle-road coupled system are investigated by means of theoretical analysis, numerical simulations and field tests. This book will be a valuable resource for university professors, graduate students and engineers majoring in automotive design, mechanical engineering, highway engineering and other related areas. Shaopu Yang is a professor and deputy president of Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, China; Liqun Chen is a professor at Shanghai University, Shanghai, China; Shaohua Li is a professor at Shijiazhuang Tiedao University, China.

Book Coupled System Pavement Tire Vehicle

Download or read book Coupled System Pavement Tire Vehicle written by Michael Kaliske and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-07-02 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book summarizes research being pursued within the Research Unit FOR 2089, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the goal of which is to develop the scientific base for a paradigm shift towards dimensioning, structural realization and maintenance of pavements, and prepare road infrastructure for future requirements. It provides a coupled thermo-mechanical model for a holistic physical analysis of the pavement-tire-vehicle system: based on this model, pavement structures and materials can be optimized so that new demands become compatible with the main goal – durability of the structures and the materials. The development of these new and qualitatively improved modelling approaches requires a holistic procedure through the coupling of theoretical numerical and experimental approaches as well as an interdisciplinary and closely linked handling of the coupled pavement-tire-vehicle system. This interdisciplinary research provides a deeper understanding of the physics of the full system through complex, coupled simulation approaches and progress in terms of improved and, therefore, more durable and sustainable structures.

Download or read book Road Vehicle Dynamics written by Georg Rill and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2011-09-21 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In striving for optimal comfort and safety conditions in road vehicles, today’s electronically controlled components provide a range of new options. These are developed and tested using computer simulations in software in the loop or hardware in the loop environments—an advancement that requires the modern automotive engineer to be able to build basic simulation models, handle higher level models, and operate simulation tools effectively. Combining the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics with the basics of computer simulated modeling, Road Vehicle Dynamics: Fundamentals and Modeling Aspects draws on lecture notes from undergraduate and graduate courses given by the author, as well as industry seminars and symposiums, to provide practical insight on the subject. Requiring only a first course in dynamics and programming language as a prerequisite, this highly accessible book offers end-of-chapter exercises to reinforce concepts as well as programming examples and results using MATLAB®. The book uses SI-units throughout, and begins with an introduction and overview of units and quantities, terminology and definitions, multibody dynamics, and equations of motion. It then discusses the road, highlighting both deterministic and stochastic road models; tire handling including contact calculation, longitudinal and lateral forces, vertical axis torques, and measurement and modeling techniques; and drive train components and concepts such as transmission, clutch, and power source. Later chapters discuss suspension systems, including a dynamic model of rack-and-pinion steering as well as double-wishbone suspension systems; force elements such as springs, anti-roll bars, and hydro-mounts; and vehicle dynamics in vertical, longitudinal, and lateral directions using a simple model approach to examine the effects of nonlinear, dynamic, and active force elements. Highlighting useable knowledge, the book concludes with a three-dimensional vehicle model and typical results of standard driving maneuvers.

Book Vehicle Tire Road Dynamics

Download or read book Vehicle Tire Road Dynamics written by Tan Li and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2022-11-24 with total page 664 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vehicle/Tire/Road Dynamics: Handling, Ride, and NVH presents the connection between NVH and conventional vehicle dynamics where both tire and road play a key role. In this book, there is a chapter for handling dynamics that provides an introduction to ride dynamics and a chapter for ride dynamics that provides an introduction to NVH, presenting better coherence and synergy between these major areas of vehicle/tire dynamics. Accompanying the fundamental theories, case studies are given to facilitate comprehension. In addition to the experimental implementations, the state-of-the-art approaches to simulating vehicle/tire dynamics are presented from the viewpoint of both industry and academia. This new book bridges the gap for experts in tire or pavement NVH (also tire-pavement interaction noise) and those who are experts in vehicle dynamics. Conventional vehicle dynamics (e.g., handling/braking/cornering) is focused on low-frequency performance while NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) is focused on high-frequency performance. There is also another area called "ride" (comfort/stability) which focuses on mid-frequency. Presents a closed loop system for vehicle dynamics, covering handling, riden and NVH. Provides insights into how intelligent tires will enhance autonomous vehicle control and optimize multiple performances, especially for electric vehicles. Demonstrates how pavement characteristics could greatly influence vehicle handling/ride/NVH and improve/balance these performances.

Download or read book Vehicle Dynamics written by Rao V. Dukkipati and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2000 with total page 612 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing worldwide populations increasingly require faster, safer, and more efficient transportation systems. These needs have led to a renewed interest in high-speed guided ground transportation technology, inspired considerable research, and instigated the development of better analytical and experimental tools. A very significant body of knowledge currently exists, but has primarily remained scattered throughout the literature. Vehicle Dynamics consolidates information from a wide spectrum of sources in the area of guided ground transportation. Each chapter provides a concise, thorough statement of the fundamental theory, followed by illustrative worked examples and exercises. The author also includes a variety of unsolved problems designed to amplify and extend the theory and provide problem-solving experience. The subject of guided ground transportation is vast, but this book brings together the core topics, providing in-depth treatments of topics ranging from system classification, analysis, and response to lading dynamics and rail, air cushion, and maglev systems. In doing so, Vehicle Dynamics offers a singular opportunity for readers to build the solid background needed for solving practical vehicle dynamics problems or pursuing more advanced or specialized studies.
