This book was released on 2019-10-04 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Design and Operation of heat Exchangers and Their Networks presents a comprehensive and detailed analysis on the thermal design methods for the most common types of heat exchangers, with a focus on their networks, simulation procedures for their operations, and measurement of their thermal performances. The book addresses the fundamental theories and principles of heat transfer performance of heat exchangers and their applications and then applies them to the use of modern computing technology. Topics discussed include cell methods for condensers and evaporators, dispersion models for heat exchangers, experimental methods for the evaluation of heat exchanger performance, and thermal calculation algorithms for multi-stream heat exchangers and heat exchanger networks. - Includes MATLAB codes to illustrate how the technologies and methods discussed can be easily applied and developed - Analyses a range of different models, applications, and case studies in order to reveal more advanced solutions for industrial applications - Maintains a strong focus on the fundamental theories and principles of the heat transfer performance of heat exchangers and their applications for complex flow arrangement

Book Dynamic Behaviour of Heat Exchangers

Download or read book Dynamic Behaviour of Heat Exchangers written by Wilfried Roetzel and published by Computational Mechanics. This book was released on 1999 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work proposes mathematical models and methods for the analytical and numerical treatment of transient processes in single and multi-phase heat exchangers. All important flow arrangements and heat exchanger configurations are considered. The plug-flow, dispersed plug-flow and cell models are applied to describing transient processes in heat exchangers. The Laplace transform and numerical inversion algorithm as well as other methods are used. Numerical examples show the influence of different design parameters on the thermal response to variations of inlet temperatures, flow rates and other operating conditions. This text aims to help enable the designer, manufacturer and user of heat exchangers to understand and predict dynamic behaviour of heat exchangers.

Book Analysis of Three fluid Crossflow Heat Exchangers

Download or read book Analysis of Three fluid Crossflow Heat Exchangers written by Noel C. Willis (Jr.) and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The detailed behavior of three-fluid, crossflow heat exchangers has been investigated. The equations governing the two-dimensional temperature distributions of the three fluids have been derived and nondimentionalized. Performance characteristics have been determined for a wide range of operating parameters for single-pass heat exchangers. The performance of two-pass heat exchangers for both cocurrent and countercurrent flow has been studied for selected operating conditions. Results have been presented graphically in terms of the temperature effectiveness of the two outer fluids as functions of heat-exchanger size for sets of fixed operating conditions. Nondimensional operating parameters have been defined which allow an efficient presentation of the large volume of performance data required to represent a practical range of operating conditions. Sample problems are included to illustrate the use of the performance graphs for design applications.
