Book Formal Modeling and Analysis of Timed Systems

Download or read book Formal Modeling and Analysis of Timed Systems written by Víctor Braberman and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-07-23 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Formal Modeling and Analysis of Timed Systems, FORMATS 2013, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in August 2013. The 18 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 41 submissions. The book covers topics of foundations and semantics (theoretical foundations of timed systems and languages; comparison between different models, such as timed automata, timed Petri nets, hybrid automata, timed process algebra, max-plus algebra, probabilistic models); methods and Tools (techniques, algorithms, data structures, and software tools for analyzing timed systems and resolving temporal constraints, e.g., scheduling, worst-case execution time analysis, optimization, model checking, testing, constraint solving, etc.); applications (adaptation and specialization of timing technology in application domains in which timing plays an important role, e.g., real-time software, hardware circuits, and problems of scheduling in manufacturing and telecommunications).

Download or read book Hybrid Systems II written by Panos Antsaklis and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1995-10-09 with total page 584 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book documents the scientific outcome of the Third International Workshop on Hybrid Systems, held in Ithaca, NY, USA, in October 1994. It presents a selection of carefully reviewed and revised full papers chosen from the workshop contribution and is the successor to LNCS 736, the seminal "Hybrid Systems" volume edited by Grossman, Nerode, Ravn, and Rischel. Hybrid systems are models for networks of digital and continuous devices, in which digital control programs sense and supervise continuous and discrete plants governed by differential or difference equations. The investigation of hybrid systems is creating a new and fascinating discipline bridging mathematics, computer science, and control engineering.

Book Graphs Dioids and Semirings

Download or read book Graphs Dioids and Semirings written by Michel Gondran and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-05-14 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary objective of this essential text is to emphasize the deep relations existing between the semiring and dioïd structures with graphs and their combinatorial properties. It does so at the same time as demonstrating the modeling and problem-solving flexibility of these structures. In addition the book provides an extensive overview of the mathematical properties employed by "nonclassical" algebraic structures which either extend usual algebra or form a new branch of it.

Book A Guide to the Literature on Semirings and their Applications in Mathematics and Information Sciences

Download or read book A Guide to the Literature on Semirings and their Applications in Mathematics and Information Sciences written by K. Glazek and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume presents a short guide to the extensive literature concerning semir ings along with a complete bibliography. The literature has been created over many years, in variety of languages, by authors representing different schools of mathematics and working in various related fields. In many instances the terminology used is not universal, which further compounds the difficulty of locating pertinent sources even in this age of the Internet and electronic dis semination of research results. So far there has been no single reference that could guide the interested scholar or student to the relevant publications. This book is an attempt to fill this gap. My interest in the theory of semirings began in the early sixties, when to gether with Bogdan W ~glorz I tried to investigate some algebraic aspects of compactifications of topological spaces, semirings of semicontinuous functions, and the general ideal theory for special semirings. (Unfortunately, local alge braists in Poland told me at that time that there was nothing interesting in investigating semiring theory because ring theory was still being developed). However, some time later we became aware of some similar investigations hav ing already been done. The theory of semirings has remained "my first love" ever since, and I have been interested in the results in this field that have been appearing in literature (even though I have not been active in this area myself).

Book Discrete Event Simulation and System Dynamics for Management Decision Making

Download or read book Discrete Event Simulation and System Dynamics for Management Decision Making written by Sally Brailsford and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2014-03-31 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, there has been a growing debate, particularly in the UK and Europe, over the merits of using discrete-event simulation (DES) and system dynamics (SD); there are now instances where both methodologies were employed on the same problem. This book details each method, comparing each in terms of both theory and their application to various problem situations. It also provides a seamless treatment of various topics--theory, philosophy, detailed mechanics, practical implementation--providing a systematic treatment of the methodologies of DES and SD, which previously have been treated separately.
