Book Dynamics of Rigid Flexible Robots and Multibody Systems

Download or read book Dynamics of Rigid Flexible Robots and Multibody Systems written by Paramanand Vivekanand Nandihal and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-11-28 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses the dynamic analysis of rigid-flexible robots and multibody systems with serial as well as closed-loop architecture. The book presents a formulation of dynamic model of rigid-flexible robots based on the unique approach of de-coupling of natural orthogonal complements of velocity constraints. Based on this formulation, a computationally efficient and numerically stable forward dynamics algorithms for serial-chain and closed-loop robotic systems with rigid or flexible or rigid-flexible links is presented. The proposed algorithm is shown to be a numerically efficient for forward dynamics based on the investigation methodologies built on eigen value analytics. Precision and functionality of the simulation algorithms is presented/illustrated with application on different serial and closed-loop systems (both planar and spatial types). Some of the major robotic arms used to illustrate the proposed dynamic formulation and simulation algorithms are PUMA robot, Stanford robot arm, and Canadarm. It is envisaged that the book will be useful for researchers working on the development of rigid-flexible robots for use in defense, space, atomic energy, ocean exploration, and the manufacturing of biomedical equipment.

Book Dynamic Analysis of a Manipulator with Two Flexible Arms

Download or read book Dynamic Analysis of a Manipulator with Two Flexible Arms written by Djamel Bensahal and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of this book is to show the effect of flexible arm studied by dynamic analysis of a robot manipulator with two flexible arms. The book has been established for the undergraduate upper-levels and graduate level in Mechanical Engineering. Clearly, it is desirable to build lightweight robot arms which have a large working volume, high mobility and the capability to carry heavy payloads. In order to meet these requirements, the robot arm has to be flexible, in other words, the rigid-body-assumption in robotics has to be abandoned. Then, the deflection and vibration of the robot arm present a severe problem to the accuracy and the stability in positioning. Therefore, the control of flexible manipulators is becoming a critical issue in robotics. Modal analysis can improve physical knowledge of a structure and in some cases give us much information about its behaviour during operating. The calculation of the natural frequencies of the structure by modal analysis becomes today an important step in its design.

Book Advanced Studies of Flexible Robotic Manipulators

Download or read book Advanced Studies of Flexible Robotic Manipulators written by Fei-Yue Wang and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2003 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Flexible robotic manipulators pose various challenges in research as compared to rigid robotic manipulators, ranging from system design, structural optimization, and construction to modeling, sensing, and control. Although significant progress has been made in many aspects over the last one-and-a-half decades, many issues are not resolved yet, and simple, effective, and reliable controls of flexible manipulators still remain an open quest. Clearly, further efforts and results in this area will contribute significantly to robotics (particularly automation) as well as its application and education in general control engineering. To accelerate this process, the leading experts in this important area present in this book the state of the art in advanced studies of the design, modeling, control and applications of flexible manipulators. Sample Chapter(s). Chapter 1: Flexible-link Manipulators: Modeling, Nonlinear Control and Observer (235 KB). Contents: Flexible-Link Manipulators: Modeling, Nonlinear Control and Observer (M A Arteaga & B Siciliano); Energy-Based Control of Flexible Link Robots (S S Ge); Trajectory Planning and Compliant Control for Two Manipulators to Deform Flexible Materials (O Al-Jarrah et al.); Force Control of Flexible Manipulators (F Matsuno); Experimental Study on the Control of Flexible Link Robots (D Wang); Sensor Output Feedback Control of Flexible Robot Arms (Z-H Luo); On GA Based Robust Control of Flexible Manipulators (Z-Q Xiao & L-L Cui); Analysis of Poles and Zeros for Tapered Link Designs (D L Girvin & W J Book); Optimum Shape Design of Flexible Manipulators with Tip Loads (J L Russell & Y-Q Gao); Mechatronic Design of Flexible Manipulators (P-X Zhou & Z-Q Xiao); A Comprehensive Study of Dynamic Behaviors of Flexible Robotic Links: Modeling and Analysis (Y-Q Gao & F-Y Wang). Book Dynamical Analysis and Optimal Control of a Flexible Robot Arm

Download or read book Dynamical Analysis and Optimal Control of a Flexible Robot Arm written by American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Winter Annual Meeting and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A single link flexible robot arm with an end-effector is modelled as a beam. The governing nonlinear integro-differential equations, suitable for a study of large angle high speed rotations of the arm, are derived. The optimal control strategies for vibration suppression at the end of a prescribed rotation are developed for both a linear and a nonlinear discretized model. The importance of retaining the elastic-rotational couplings in the analysis is pointed out. For the solution of the nonlinear control problem an analytic continuation method is used. Results show that the nonlinear effects are significant for rapid, large angle rotation of a flexible robot arm.

Book Theory of Robot Control

Download or read book Theory of Robot Control written by Carlos Canudas de Wit and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A study of the latest research results in the theory of robot control, structured so as to echo the gradual development of robot control over the last fifteen years. In three major parts, the editors deal with the modelling and control of rigid and flexible robot manipulators and mobile robots. Most of the results on rigid robot manipulators in part I are now well established, while for flexible manipulators in part II, some problems still remain unresolved. Part III deals with the control of mobile robots, a challenging area for future research. The whole is rounded off with an appendix reviewing basic definitions and the mathematical background for control theory. The particular combination of topics makes this an invaluable source of information for both graduate students and researchers.

Book Intelligent Control of Flexible Robots

Download or read book Intelligent Control of Flexible Robots written by Khalil Ibrahim and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, the control of a flexible robot with a payload at the free end is theoretically and experimentally investigated, where the arm dynamic model is obtained by applying Euler-Bernoulli beam and Lagrange's equations. The current research is mainly carried out to highlight the major problems encountered in positioning the flexible robot arm upon applying different control policies. The arm is driven by a DC-servomotor, where the hub position is measured by a rotary encoder and the deflection is detected by a strain gauge sensor. This book is mainly carried out to determine the major problems encountered in controlling flexible arm upon applying conventional controllers and to highlight the capabilities of the intelligent controllers in improving the arm dynamic response. This book was written for researchers in mechanical, electrical and Mechatronics engineering. However, it is also intended to be a practical textbook for those engineers in industry who find themselves involved in a project dealing with robot design and would like to have more-or-less self-taught refresher course.
