Book Drunk Drive Deterrent

Download or read book Drunk Drive Deterrent written by JD.R and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2021-03-02 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Started life in a fairy tale childhood, lived with Mum and Sis, moved from another country before I was one year old. When I was seven little did I know but my life was about to alter forever when a man moved in. This man I say determined my life the most until I was adult, he too changed the upbringing attitude of Mum who was trying her utmost to raise two children in the best possible atmosphere, so not only him but Mum have had gigantic influence on my character. We moved home lots while I lived in the family home. Lost friendships ruled my mind, this fact, health and lack of proper education led to life feeling like it was falling apart. I turned carefree and rebellious, till nearly 22 when I had another life determining event, as a regular drink-driver I had an always on the cards, devastating car crash. I went into a-coma, one point from brain death. Mum, I really believe now I have learnt the powers of belief and creation, had early on, the biggest effect on my recovery. She from day one, even when I was unconscious never questioned my return to health. With all the odds against me, my determination that I was not going to live life like this, with Mum by my side for the early days. She still even today is amazing as the best support in the industry! Except she does not get paid. I moved out the family home at about 24, this was delayed for the obvious reason plus I did not grow up and move away from my troubles. In horrendous disabled reality, miraculously I found love. After a what I considered an end to life, I was so happy we laughed so much. We never broke up, I went away for rehabilitation, never saw her again. Think about her lots, I am crying right now! A year into my rehabilitation after being totally born again, to better feeling than ever, I had my mind taken. My, amazing, visual, articulate, quick, humorous mind. I was born again to feel like a king, I attempted suicide three times the following week. I missed my mind, had been the best company my whole life. I was admitted to various psychiatric units for years, all this was reasoned as a mental health problem by everyone. So, life was amazing, then at seven this takes a dip, never raises to contented levels, at nineteen takes another dip for health and social reasons. Then at twenty-one nearly ends. Twenty-three I am the happiest I have ever been in love. At twenty-six I am reborn to one hundred times this happiness! The week after I attempt suicide, doing some very serious things. Twenty-seven I begin public speaking about my life lessons involving disability and drink-driving. Very successful but my blank mind was still receiving messages, started following my thoughts. End back in hospital. Released. Used. Taken advantage of. Continue what I started years ago, writing and making a blog and designing posters. Start my research, have to find answers. The ups and downs and the research continued until forty-one when I finally publish this book. Herein contains a wealth of personal and learned experience. You want to learn the one thing in the title of this book, you’re in the right place, or you want to learn a wealth of little known secrets, you are also in the right place. You shall not think the same about anything once you complete this book. All the best JDR [email protected]

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1996. The Southern Subculture of Drinking and Driving is part of the Criminal Justice series. Volumes in the Current Issues in Criminal Justice series focus on scholarship, original thought and research, and readability. This one is no different. Julian B. Roebuck and Komanduri S. Murty have produced a volume that will be of vital interest to those who study and create policy on drunken driving ・ one of the more enduring social problems of the past two decades. The volume has two major components that make it unique in the drunken driving literature. First, Roebuck and Murty focus on drunken drivers themselves and, through the use of a large dataset, add to our knowledge of that group of people by describing their characteristics. Second, and perhaps more important, Roebuck and Murty delve into the phenomenology of the drunken driver through a lengthy interview process.

Book Preventing Drunk Driving

Download or read book Preventing Drunk Driving written by Elsie Shore and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-04-04 with total page 95 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Preventing Drunk Driving shows what is being done today, in research and practice, to reduce impaired driving and the fatalities and injuries it produces and to curtail the spread of this tragic social epidemic. In this informative book, you’ll discover how current research and prevention programs are increasing the success of designated driver programs. You’ll also find out how communities, friends, and experts are making drinkers aware of their levels of intoxication and discouraging them from driving to keep the roads safer. You’ll see when intervention works, when it doesn’t, and how you can be most effective as a citizen in the fight against impaired driving deaths along your own stretch of the world’s highways and city streets. In Preventing Drunk Driving, you’ll get up-to-date data on how researchers are identifying the most dangerous drunk driving recidivists. Also, you’ll see how increased study and research have led to theoretical models of intervention, assessments of the usefulness of vehicle interlock programs, and the use of mapping to target offenders most at risk. Most importantly, you’ll learn: the results of experiments designed to test methods of increasing designated driving how census-tract mapping can target communities prone to DWI offenses the benefits and limitations of vehicle-interlock devices for the prevention of recidivism how interveners may improve their chances of stopping an impaired person from getting behind the wheel ways that blood alcohol concentration (BAC) feedback stations can reduce DUI incidents “Give me the keys.” “Friends don’t let friends drive drunk.” These are all sayings we’ve heard--but what are the scientific facts about impaired driving and its prevention in our local communities and neighborhoods? Preventing Drunk Driving analyzes the societal ill of driving under the influence of alcohol and its related death toll from a wide variety of angles.

Book Alcohol The Prevention Debate

Download or read book Alcohol The Prevention Debate written by Marcus Grant and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-12-01 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the early 1980s, emphasis had shifted from the treatment of alcohol problems to their prevention. Yet no clear integrated policy yet existed about how alcohol problems could best be prevented. Many different strategies were put forward as solutions but some were in competition with each other, while some were actually incompatible. Originally published in 1983, what this book does is to draw together a cross section of these different and competing voices so as to give a sense of the quality and direction of the great alcohol debate at the time. After setting into context some of the basic questions to do with the prevention of alcohol problems, the authors knit together and juxtapose short contributions from a very wide variety of experts from around the world. Clinicians, educators, sociologists, advertisers, marketing men, economists, philosophers, geneticists and international civil servants present different points of view on health education, the media, advertising, trade, the law, the environment and on the ethical basis of the debate itself. The authors bravely attempt to pull some general sense out of this profusion of what the way ahead is likely to be. It should be noted that this reissue very much reflects the context of the times in which it was written and that the contributors were participating in a debate where differences of opinion were actively encouraged.
