Book excerpt: Cette recherche s’inscrit dans la mise en place de la réforme des enseignements au sein de la faculté de chirurgie-dentaire de l’Université Paris Descartes. Objectifs : Déterminer si les réactions des étudiants seraient susceptibles d’être influées par une réflexion sur des thèmes éthiques et évaluer l’impact de l’enseignement d’éthique dispensé depuis 2 ans. Mener une réflexion sur la façon de concevoir un enseignement d’éthique en terme de contenu et de forme. Matériels et méthodes : Des questionnaires ont été proposés à trois promotions d’étudiants (2ième, 3ième et 6ième année) et aux enseignants, via l’intranet de la faculté. Les questions permettent d’évaluer la capacité des participants à énoncer des notions se rapportant à la loi du 4 mars 2002 et aux principes de l’éthique biomédicale selon Beauchamp et Childress. L’utilisation de vignettes cliniques offre la possibilité de confronter les participants à des situations pratiques. Résultats : 250 étudiants (75%) et 49 enseignants (38%) ont participé. Les étudiants en début de cursus sont plus intéressés par les composantes humaines de la relation de soin. Les étudiants en fin de cursus et les enseignants envisagent davantage leur rôle à travers l’aspect médical de la prise en charge. Les notions d’autonomie et de bienfaisance prêtent à confusion. La promotion ayant bénéficié de l’enseignement d’éthique se démarque par rapport aux autres promotions. Conclusion : La mise en place d’un tel enseignement nécessite l’implication du corps enseignant et le soutien de l’institution universitaire et hospitalière. Ce projet d’enseignement doit pouvoir être déployé dans l’avenir et évolué, en terme de contenu et de forme, pour correspondre au mieux au besoin des étudiants et pour le bien des patients.
