Book No Dream Is Too High

Download or read book No Dream Is Too High written by Buzz Aldrin and published by National Geographic Books. This book was released on 2016-04-05 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beloved American hero and astronaut Buzz Aldrin reflects on the wisdom, guiding principles, and irreverent anecdotes he's gathered—both in outer space and on earth—through his event-filled life, in this inspiring guide-to-life for the next generation. Everywhere he goes, crowds gather to meet Buzz Aldrin. He is a world-class hero, a larger-than-life figurehead, best known of a generation of astronauts whose achievements surged in just a few years from first man in space to first men on the moon. Now he pauses to reflect and share what he has learned, from the vantage point not only of outer space but also of time: still a non-stop traveler and impassioned advocate for space exploration, Aldrin will be 86 in 2016. No Dream Is Too High whittles down Buzz Aldrin's event-filled life into a short list of principles he values, each illustrated by fascinating anecdotes and memories, such as: · Second comes right after first. NASA protocol should have meant he was first on the moon, but rules changed just before the mission. How he learned to be proud of being the second man on the moon. · Look for opportunities, not obstacles. Buzz was rejected the first time he applied to be an astronaut. Failure is an opportunity to learn to do better. · Always maintain your spirit of adventure. For his 80th birthday, Buzz went diving in the Galapagos and hitched a ride on a whale shark. He stays fit, energetic, and fascinated with life. No Dream Is Too High is a beautiful memento, a thought-provoking set of ideas, and a new opportunity for Buzz Aldrin to connect with the masses of people who recognize his unique place in human history.

Book The note inside the sea bottle

Download or read book The note inside the sea bottle written by Yashika Sahdev and published by Blue Rose Publishers. This book was released on 2022-07-18 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘The note inside the sea bottle’ has three , diverse parts to it . It is diverse in a way that there is no common theme or link between the chapters, making it an unusual book. Unusual , but poetic and real. ‘The beginning of an end’ is a concluding letter of life to destiny . It traces a line over the phases of life which each of us has to go in our own ways . It’s something we all have a link to but that link has altogether different strings attached . ‘The Story of a girl’ opens the book to the many stories of that one girl . The one girl who was killed unborn , who wasn’t allowed to dream , the one who was abused, used and disposed of . Even though we say that times have changed, it's odd to find the same things happening over and over again. It sums up the many competing voices into one, calling for the simple notion of Gender Equality. ‘The Abstract Geometry’ is basically the genesis of us being here , holding this book , living in a world of art . Art has always unlocked all doors , freed spirits out of eternity and closed incurable wounds . Art is the mother of poetry and that brings us here , reading a piece of art.

Book The Problem is the Solution

Download or read book The Problem is the Solution written by Marcella Bakur Weiner and published by Jason Aronson. This book was released on 2009 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Psychoanalyst Carl Jung said that a life without meaning is unlived. Today our secular worship of the material, the superficial, and the instantly gratifying is as powerful as any ancient idol worship. While our problems appear to be the enemy, they are really our secret allies, and by wrestling with them we become whole. Weiner and Simmons show us how to rely on the natural, spontaneous images that emerge from our dreams, daily life, relationship problems, and symptoms as the seeds of our own healing. We must recognize that our problems have not been randomly inflicted on us; they have a purpose, to act as guideposts pointing the way toward healing and wholeness. Book jacket.

Book START A NEW BEGINNING TODAY

Download or read book START A NEW BEGINNING TODAY written by Bairister Sharma and published by Bairister Sharma. This book was released on 2022-08-22 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many times you heard that time and tide waits of none. It is very rightly said. Time and tide always follows its own flow and pace. It has no time to wait for anybody and for anything. In the similar way, our life is. Our life is a continuous process which began its journey right from our birth and end with our death; it needs continuous flow and pace. If we ever try to halt its flow and pace, then it wouldn’t halt for us, because it is the rule of our life. It always maintains its own flow and pace. If there is life, there is flow and pace. If there is no life, there is no flow and no pace. Life means continuous flow and pace. The moment the flow and pace of life halt then the very moment there is a sudden death end. Therefore, always follow the flow and pace of your life. Don’t miss it. Control your life. Manage your life. Maintain your life. Balance your life. And keep the momentum of your life. This is the rule of your life. Whatever you want to do in your life, do it today. Whatever you want to think in your life, think it today. Whatever you want to plan in your life, plan it today. Whatever you want to dream in your life, dream it today. Whatever you want to act in your life, act it today. Whatever you want to work in your life, work it today.

Download or read book Energetic Materials written by Manoj K. Shukla and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-10-09 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a comprehensive account of energetic materials, including their synthesis, computational modeling, applications, associated degradation mechanisms, environmental consequences and fate and transport. This multi-author contributed volume describes how armed forces around the world are moving their attention from legacy explosive compounds, which are heat and shock sensitive (thus posing greater challenges in terms of handling and storage), to the insensitive munitions compounds/formulations such as insensitive munitions explosive (IMX) and the Picatinny Arsenal Explosive (PAX) series of compounds. The description of energetic materials focuses on explosives, pyrotechnic compositions, and propellants. The contributors go on to explain how modern generation energetic compounds must be insensitive to shock and heat but at the same time yield more energy upon explosion. Nanoinspired and/or co-crystallized energetic materials offer another route to generate next-generation energetic materials, and this authoritative book bridges a large gap in the literature by providing a comprehensive analysis of these compounds. Additionally, it includes a valuable overview of energetic materials, a detailed discussion of recent advances on future energetic compounds, nanotechnology in energetic materials, environmental contamination and toxicity, assessment of munitions lethality, the application quantitative structure–activity relationship (QSAR) in design of energetics and the fate and transport of munition compounds in the environment.

Download or read book Pop Empires written by S. Heijin Lee and published by University of Hawaii Press. This book was released on 2019-07-31 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the start of the twenty-first century challenges to the global hegemony of U.S. culture are more apparent than ever. Two of the contenders vying for the hearts, minds, bandwidths, and pocketbooks of the world’s consumers of culture (principally, popular culture) are India and South Korea. “Bollywood” and “Hallyu” are increasingly competing with “Hollywood”—either replacing it or filling a void in places where it never held sway. This critical multidisciplinary anthology places the mediascapes of India (the site of Bollywood), South Korea (fountainhead of Hallyu, aka the Korean Wave), and the United States (the site of Hollywood) in comparative dialogue to explore the transnational flows of technology, capital, and labor. It asks what sorts of political and economic shifts have occurred to make India and South Korea important alternative nodes of techno-cultural production, consumption, and contestation. By adopting comparative perspectives and mobile methodologies and linking popular culture to the industries that produce it as well as the industries it supports, Pop Empires connects films, music, television serials, stardom, and fandom to nation-building, diasporic identity formation, and transnational capital and labor. Additionally, via the juxtaposition of Bollywood and Hallyu, as not only synecdoches of national affiliation but also discursive case studies, the contributors examine how popular culture intersects with race, gender, and empire in relation to the global movement of peoples, goods, and ideas.
