With Drac Von Stoller out of the way, Nick Maundrell would take over the throne and become King of the Vampires. Nick sent the invitation by way of one of his henchmen on horseback. The henchman arrived a few days later and knocked on Drac Von Stoller's castle door. The rain was intense with a lot of thunder. The door opened, and Drac Von Stoller's servant answered, and said, 'May I help you?" "Yes, I was sent by Nick Maundrell to deliver this invitation to Drac Von Stoller," replied Nick's henchman. Drac's servant said, "I'll see that Drac Von Stoller receives the invitation." Drac's servant entered Drac Von Stoller's study to deliver the invitation. The servant said, "Drac, I have an invitation that was just delivered by Nick Maundrell's henchman." Book Dead and Buried A Zombie Horror Story

Download or read book Dead and Buried A Zombie Horror Story written by Drac Von Stoller and published by Drac Von Stoller. This book was released on 2024-08-31 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sun was beginning its descent, casting long, dancing shadows across the abandoned chemical plant. The air hung heavy with an acrid stench, a lingering reminder of the toxic waste that had once polluted the nearby river. Daniel, Bobby, Jimmy, and Daren, four friends united by a love for fishing and a penchant for mischief, were gathered on the banks of the murky water. "I'm telling you, there's something off about this place," Daniel muttered, his eyes darting nervously towards the dilapidated plant looming behind them. The others laughed, dismissing his concerns as they always did. "You're such a scaredy-cat, Dan," Jimmy teased, playfully shoving his friend. "The plant's been abandoned for years. Nothing but rats and rust in there now." But Daniel couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of his stomach. The river, once a toxic cesspool, had been cleaned up years ago, but whispers of its dark past still lingered. Stories of mutated fish and strange disappearances circulated among the locals, fueling the boys' imaginations and their dares to venture closer to the forbidden zone. As the light faded, casting an eerie orange glow across the water's surface, Daren stood up abruptly. "Hey guys, I gotta go take a leak," he announced, already fumbling with his zipper. He wandered off towards the side of the plant, a place they rarely ventured. The remaining trio continued their idle chatter, swapping exaggerated tales of the mythical giant fish that supposedly lurked in the river's depths. Their laughter echoed off the plant's corroded walls, masking the sound of Daren's startled gasp. "Come check this out!" Daren's voice rang out, filled with an excitement that sent chills down Daniel's spine. Intrigued, the others put down their fishing rods and joined him, their footsteps crunching on the gravel-strewn ground. They gathered around a large, rusty barrel sitting near the building. Its metal surface was pitted and scarred, covered in faded warning labels and mysterious symbols. "What do you think is inside?" Bobby whispered, his eyes wide with curiosity. Jimmy, always the daredevil, grinned mischievously. "Let's roll it down the hill and see what's inside," he suggested, already placing his hands on the barrel's cold surface. Daniel hesitated, a knot of dread tightening in his chest. "I don't know, guys. Maybe we should leave it alone." But his protests fell on deaf ears. With a collective grunt, they pushed the barrel towards the edge of a nearby hill, overlooking an old, forgotten cemetery. The rusted metal groaned in protest as it teetered on the brink, and then, with a final shove, it tumbled down the slope. The barrel bounced and rolled, gathering speed as it careened towards the graveyard. It smashed through the rotting wooden fence, splintering ancient boards, before coming to a violent stop against a crumbling tombstone. The impact echoed through the evening air, followed by an ominous hiss as the lid popped open. A thick, green slime oozed from the barrel, its viscous surface bubbling and writhing as if alive. The noxious substance seeped into the parched earth, disappearing between the cracks in the soil. The stench that arose was overwhelming, a mixture of decay and chemical burn that made their eyes water. "What the hell was that?" Daniel choked out, covering his nose with his shirt. Bobby, his face pale in the fading light, let out a nervous laugh. "I betcha tonight there will be zombies rising up from the ground," he joked weakly, his voice barely audible over the sound of the flowing river. The others laughed half-heartedly, trying to dispel the growing sense of unease. But as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the cemetery in lengthening shadows, they couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly, irrevocably wrong. "We should go," Daniel insisted, already backing away. "It's getting late, and our parents will be worried." Reluctantly, the others agreed. As they gathered their fishing gear and prepared to leave, a cold wind swept through the area, carrying with it the faint sound of scraping, as if something was clawing its way up through the earth. That night, an unnatural quiet descended upon the town. The usual symphony of crickets and distant barking was replaced by an unsettling silence that seemed to press in from all sides. Daniel tossed and turned in his bed, unable to shake the memory of the green slime and the ominous feeling it had stirred within him. Just as he was about to drift off, a sharp tap at his window jolted him awake. Heart pounding, he crept to the glass and peered out into the darkness. Bobby's face, pale and drawn, stared back at him. "Dan, you gotta come quick," Bobby whispered urgently. "Something's happening at the cemetery."

Book The Last Breath A Tale of the Walking Dead

Download or read book The Last Breath A Tale of the Walking Dead written by Drac Von Stoller and published by Drac Von Stoller. This book was released on 2023-11-22 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the wake of a catastrophic event—a viral outbreak gone unchecked—humanity's once-vibrant civilization succumbed to chaos. Cities, once bustling with life, now lay in ruins. The world morphed into a desolate landscape haunted by the Walking Dead. Streets were littered with debris, and buildings stood as hollow remnants of a bygone era. Survivors, those fortunate enough to evade the initial wave of infection, lived in constant fear. Sarah, a young woman in her twenties, found herself navigating this harsh reality. She had lost her family early in the outbreak and had since learned to rely on her wits and survival instincts. Her once bright eyes held a haunted glimmer, a testament to the horrors she had witnessed. The once-familiar sounds of life were replaced by the guttural moans of the undead. Shambling figures roamed the streets, their decaying flesh a stark reminder of the world's downfall. Sarah had grown accustomed to moving silently, scavenging for food and supplies while constantly watching her back. As she traversed the desolate cityscape, memories of the past lingered. Images of laughter in crowded streets clashed with the grim reality she faced. Every day was a battle for survival, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of despair. And amidst this desolation, Sarah clung to a faint hope of finding a place untouched by the horrors that now plagued the world. Sarah's group, once a formidable band of survivors, faced the harsh truth of their situation. The initial unity that held them together began to fracture under the weight of dwindling supplies and unrelenting threats. Food was scarce, scavenging runs grew riskier, and encounters with the undead became more frequent. Each passing day tested their resolve. Arguments erupted over rationing, safety protocols, and the viability of their dwindling sanctuary. Among the group was Tom, a seasoned fighter whose pragmatism clashed with Sarah's idealism. He argued for harsher measures, advocating leaving behind the weaker members to increase their chances of survival. Sarah vehemently opposed such notions, clinging to the belief that their humanity shouldn't be sacrificed for mere survival. Tensions escalated when a supply run turned disastrous. Half the group was lost, leaving Sarah and a handful of survivors on the brink of despair. With heavy hearts, they buried their fallen comrades, the weight of loss etched into their weary faces. Amidst the group's dwindling numbers, fear began to breed mistrust. Whispers of dissent lingered among them, sowing seeds of doubt about their chances of survival. Sarah felt the weight of responsibility pressing down upon her shoulders. She knew they needed a new plan, a beacon of hope to rekindle the flickering flame of their survival. Yet, uncertainty clouded her mind as she grappled with the harsh reality of their situation. Despite the grim circumstances, Sarah refused to succumb to despair. Determined to secure a future for the remaining survivors, she rallied their spirits by proposing a daring mission: to seek out a rumored safe haven, a sanctuary untouched by the ravenous dead. Armed with fading hope and a crude map outlining potential safe zones, Sarah became the beacon of their aspirations. She outlined the risks but emphasized the possibility of a fresh start—a place where they could rebuild and thrive. With a sense of renewed purpose, the group set out on their perilous journey. The landscape was unforgiving, littered with dangers at every turn.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Karen had this idea that she would invite some of her friends over, and spend the night at the old forgotten desecrated cemetery in the woods a mile down the country road from her house. The cemetery dates back to the seventeen hundreds with many of the tombstones broken and a sacrificial altar with blood stains on it where many unwilling participants took their last breath. Karen had no idea something evil was left behind at the cemetery that had been lying dormant for centuries. Karen phoned her friends Pam and Cathy to invite them over for a fun night at the cemetery to tell some ghost stories around a fire with lots of drinking. The girls thought it was a cool idea Karen came up with, especially the drinking part. Karen picked out the night, so the forecast would be just right to set the mood for a spooky night at the graveyard. The night finally arrived it was midnight and the girls piled into Karen's car with the music pounding. Karen said "Anyone ready for a beer?" They all said, "Hell yeah!" As the beers were passed around, the girls rolled their windows down and stuck their heads out of the car windows screaming, and gulping down their beers as the cool wind blew against their faces. Pam said, "I think I see the cemetery up ahead."

Tom decided to play chicken with Tim so he slowed the car down, got behind Tim's car, and tapped his bumper several times. Tim started driving faster, but Tom wasn't about to let up on the chase. Tim finally lost control of his vehicle and his car went off into the ditch and caught on fire. Tom pulled his car over and all three men got out of the car and pulled Tim from his burning car. Tim said "Thanks! I was almost a dead man." Jack said "Did you really think we pulled you out of your burning car to save your life? We only pulled you out because we're going to whoop your ass!" The Devil said, "Halloween Night is the only night of the year that my powers are the strongest." As the darkness set in and the trick-or-treaters headed out of their homes to get candy, the Devil entered every trick-or-treater's mind using telepathy. The Devil said "Go out and fill up your sacks with all the candy it will hold, but this time you will say these words to whoever opens their door to hand out candy. Trick-r-treat! You’re dead! Then look straight in their eyes and all they will see is the eyes of the devil. They will be frozen like a statue. While they are staring in a trance, pull out the butcher knife from your sack and stab them until they fall to the ground. You have twenty-four hours to kill every neighbor in your neighborhood. I'll be out of business even before I open the doors." Henry got up from his desk pacing back and forth trying to figure out how he was going to get some wax figures in his museum fast. Henry tied his horse to a hitching post stepped down off his horse, and went inside his friend’s store. Henry walked up to his friend Jack and said, "Hi! Jack, how is business?" "Business couldn't be better. What brings you here?" asked Jack. "Well, I've just opened a wax museum, and I need some wax figures to place inside my wax museum. I was wondering if you would let me use the mannequins in the back of the store for my displays," explained Henry. "Sure, anything to help out a good friend of mine," replied Jack. All Henry thought about was making these townspeople pay for making him look like a fool. Henry said to himself, “They will all be sorry for laughing at me.”

Download or read book The Drowned Bride Legend written by Drac Von Stoller and published by Drac Von Stoller. This book was released on 2024-07-20 with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It was a beautiful day for a wedding, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers. The ceremony was held next to a serene lake, the perfect backdrop for the union of two souls in love. As the guests gathered for the reception, the groom, Jack, couldn't take his eyes off his bride, Lisa. She looked absolutely stunning in her white gown, her eyes sparkling with happiness. Jack felt like the luckiest man in the world. But beneath the surface of this idyllic scene, dark currents swirled. Jack's best man, Tom, watched the couple with barely concealed envy. His eyes lingered on Lisa's graceful form, his mind wandering to forbidden places. As he raised his champagne glass in a toast, his words carried a double meaning. "To Jack and Lisa," Tom announced, his voice ringing out over the crowd. "May your love be as deep and eternal as the lake beside us." Lisa's eyes flickered to Tom's for just a moment, a silent exchange that went unnoticed by all but the most observant guests. One elderly woman, Edith, frowned slightly, her rheumy eyes narrowing as she watched the bride. As the celebrations continued, Jack found himself being pulled in different directions, greeting guests and making sure everything was running smoothly. In the midst of it all, he lost sight of Lisa. The reception tent buzzed with laughter and music, but a chill wind began to blow off the lake, causing the candles to flicker ominously. Edith cornered Jack near the cake table, her gnarled hand gripping his arm with surprising strength. "Watch her, boy," she hissed, her voice barely audible over the music. "That one's got secrets in her eyes." Jack laughed nervously, extracting himself from the old woman's grasp. "I'm sure I don't know what you mean, Mrs. Holloway. Lisa's an open book." Edith's lips tightened. "Mark my words. There's more than champagne bubbling beneath the surface today." Unsettled, Jack scanned the crowd for his bride. It wasn't until one of his friends approached him, a look of concern on his face, that Jack realized something was truly wrong. "Hey, Jack... you might want to go check on Lisa," his friend said, nodding towards the end of the boat dock. Jack felt a surge of panic as he made his way to the dock, his heart racing. The wooden planks creaked ominously beneath his feet, and the lake water lapped at the pilings with an almost hungry sound. And what he saw there made his blood run cold. Lisa was sitting with Tom, their faces close together, lips touching in a passionate kiss. The white of her wedding dress stood out starkly against the gathering dusk, like a beacon of betrayal. Fury consumed Jack as he stormed towards them, his eyes filled with rage. "How long?" Jack's voice was low and dangerous, causing the pair to spring apart guiltily. Tom quickly pulled away, leaving Lisa alone to face her furious groom. "Jack, I can explain-" Tom began, but Jack cut him off with a savage backhand that sent the other man sprawling. "You... how could you do this to me?" Jack yelled, his voice filled with hurt and betrayal. His hands clenched and unclenched at his sides, trembling with barely contained violence. Lisa tried to explain, tears streaming down her face. "Jack, please, it's not what you think. We were just-" "Just what?" Jack snarled. "Just making a mockery of our vows? Of everything we promised each other?" "No!" Lisa cried, reaching for him. "Jack, I love you. It was a mistake, a moment of weakness. Please, you have to believe me!" But Jack was beyond reason. In a blind fit of rage, he grabbed her by the throat and squeezed, his fingers tightening around her pale neck. Lisa's eyes widened in shock and fear, her hands scrabbling desperately at his iron grip. "Jack, stop!" Tom yelled, scrambling to his feet. "You'll kill her!"

It was a chill that had nothing to do with the late October weather, but rather with the impending storm brewing within the castle's walls. The sprawling estate, nestled in the misty hills of rural England, had stood for centuries, a silent witness to generations of Willington family drama. But never had it seen a night quite like this. Sir Edward Willington, the patriarch of the family, lay sprawled on the thick Persian rug in his study. His lifeless figure, eyes wide with terror, hinted at a final, horrific realization. The once-proud man, his face contorted in a grotesque mask of fear, was a stark contrast to the opulence that surrounded him. Leather-bound books lined the walls, their spines gleaming in the flickering firelight. A half-empty glass of brandy sat on the mahogany desk, the amber liquid catching the light like a trapped tear. Detective Inspector Marcus Thorne stood over the body, his face impassive. At fifty-three, Thorne was a veteran of the force, his salt-and-pepper hair and lined face testament to years of solving gruesome crimes. But there was something unsettling about this scene, a sense of calculated malice that chilled him to the bone. Beside him, the young and eager Detective Sergeant Emily Carter looked visibly shaken, her bright blue eyes wide with a mix of horror and fascination. "Looks like a clean shot, Inspector," Carter murmured, her voice trembling slightly. "Right through the heart." Thorne nodded, his gaze fixed on the body. "No forced entry, no signs of struggle. Looks like a classic case of someone close to the victim." His deep voice resonated in the quiet room, each word weighted with years of experience. A soft gasp echoed through the room. Lady Eleanor Willington, Sir Edward's wife of thirty years, stood in the doorway. Her face was a mask of carefully cultivated grief, but her eyes held a flicker of something else – a cold calculation that belied her outward sorrow. She was a striking woman in her early fifties, her silver-streaked dark hair pulled back in an elegant chignon. "Someone close to Edward?" she echoed, her voice laced with feigned disbelief. "That's impossible. He was a kind and generous man. Beloved by all." Her hand fluttered to her throat, adorned with a string of flawless pearls. Thorne's lips curved into a wry smile. "We'll see about that, Lady Willington," he replied, his voice low and measured. He'd seen enough high-society murders to know that beneath the veneer of respectability often lurked the darkest of motives. As the night wore on, the castle became a hive of activity. Forensic teams combed the study, their cameras flashing like silent lightning in the somber room. Outside, the wind howled, rattling the ancient windows and adding to the atmosphere of unease that permeated the castle. Thorne and Carter set up a makeshift incident room in the castle's expansive library. The walls were lined with centuries of books, their leather bindings a silent audience to the unfolding drama. As they pinned up photos and notes on a hastily erected evidence board, Thorne couldn't shake the feeling that they were missing something crucial. "Sir," Carter said, breaking the silence. "I've been going through Sir Edward's financial records. There's something odd here." She handed Thorne a stack of papers, her brow furrowed in concentration. Thorne leafed through the documents, his eyes narrowing. "Multiple large withdrawals over the past six months. All in cash. What was old Willington up to?" Before Carter could respond, there was a commotion in the hallway. Lord Richard Willington, Sir Edward's eldest son, burst into the library, his face flushed with anger and what Thorne suspected was a generous amount of whiskey. "What's the meaning of this?" Richard demanded, his words slightly slurred. "Why haven't you arrested the murderer yet? It's obvious who did it!" Thorne raised an eyebrow. "Is it, Lord Willington? Perhaps you'd care to enlighten us." Richard's eyes darted around the room, a hint of panic breaking through his bravado. "Well... it must have been one of the servants. Probably that new gardener. He always looked shifty to me." Carter exchanged a glance with Thorne. They both recognized the desperate attempt at misdirection for what it was. "We'll be sure to look into that," Thorne said smoothly. "In the meantime, Lord Willington, perhaps you could tell us where you were at the time of your father's death?" Richard's face paled. "I... I was in the billiard room. Alone. But I didn't do it! I loved my father!" As Richard stormed out, Thorne turned to Carter. "Well, Sergeant, it seems we have our work cut out for us. A house full of suspects, each with their own secrets. And somewhere among them, a killer." Carter nodded, her eyes gleaming with determination. "Where do we start, sir?" Thorne looked out the window, where the first light of dawn was beginning to break over the misty grounds. "We start Sergeant, by digging. Every family has its skeletons, and I have a feeling the Willingtons have more than most." As the new day dawned, Willington Castle stood silent and brooding, its ancient stones holding tight to the secrets of the night. But secrets, like bodies, have a way of surfacing. And for Detective Inspector Marcus Thorne, the hunt for a killer was just beginning. The following days were a whirlwind of interviews and investigations. The Willington family, a sprawling clan of greedy relatives, was a veritable minefield of suspicion. Each member seemed to harbor their own dark secrets, their eyes darting nervously whenever Thorne entered a room. Lord Richard Willington, the eldest son, was a study in entitled arrogance. At forty-five, he had spent his entire life waiting to inherit, his impatience growing with each passing year. Thorne found him in the conservatory, nursing a glass of expensive scotch despite the early hour. "I don't see why this is necessary," Richard sneered, his manicured hands fidgeting with his silk tie. "My father's killer is obvious. It's that gardener, I tell you." Thorne leaned back in his chair, his piercing gaze never leaving Richard's face. "And yet, Lord Willington, the gardener has a solid alibi. Unlike yourself." Richard's face flushed an ugly red. "Are you accusing me? I'm the victim here! I've lost my father, my inheritance is in limbo, and now I'm being hounded by the police!" "Interesting that you mention the inheritance before your father," Thorne noted quietly. Before Richard could respond, the conservatory door burst open. Lord Thomas Willington, the younger son, stumbled in. At thirty-eight, Thomas was the black sheep of the family, his once-handsome face ravaged by years of hard living. "Dickie!" Thomas slurred, ignoring Thorne completely. "I need money. The bookies are after me again."

The people of Dunhaven were a close-knit community, bound by tradition and superstition that lingered like the morning mist on the emerald landscapes. They spoke of ancient legends, of spirits that walked the moors and forests, and none invoked as much fear as the banshee. The tale of the banshee had been passed down through generations, a haunting narrative whispered around firesides and spoken of in hushed tones. It was said that the banshee, a spectral woman with long, flowing hair and a mournful wail, would appear when tragedy was about to befall a family. Her cry, they said, could be heard in the dead of night, a sound that sent shivers down the spine of anyone who was unfortunate enough to hear it. The O'Leary family, one of the oldest in Dunhaven, had always been skeptical of such tales. Sean O'Leary, the patriarch, was a pragmatic man who valued reason over superstition. His wife, Niamh, however, had grown up listening to her grandmother's stories about the banshee. As the years passed, the legends faded into the background of their lives, mere echoes of a bygone era. One fateful evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and shadows crept across the landscape, the O'Leary family gathered for a hearty dinner. Laughter filled the air as the children regaled their parents with tales of their day. The atmosphere was warm, the fire crackling in the hearth, and a sense of contentment settled over the household. Little did they know, the tranquility of the night would soon be shattered by the cry of the banshee. As the clock struck midnight, an otherworldly wail echoed through the village. It was a sound that seemed to pierce the very fabric of reality, sending chills down the spines of all who heard it. The O'Leary family, now gathered in the comfort of their home, fell silent, their eyes wide with a mixture of disbelief and fear. "What in God's name..." Sean muttered, glancing nervously at Niamh.

Book excerpt: Before I begin this story, just remember when you were a little boy or girl and how vivid your imaginations were. When you read a book you can close your eyes and somehow be in the story, and see the scenery, and characters come alive. In the story you are about to read a little boy by the name of Victor will bring his imagination to life on canvas that will have fatal consequences. Even though Victor’s life was pretty messed up because of his alcoholic parents, he never gave up on his dream of becoming a famous painter. Victor being an only child, would think his parents would spoil him rotten, but since the bottle was the only thing they cared about, Victor had to take a back seat and figure out life on his own. As Victor’s passion for painting grew each day it was getting easier to drown out his sorrows of not having a stable family life he could be proud of. Anytime Victor would get excited about a painting he worked so hard on, he would run downstairs to show it off to his parent but all he got in the end was heartache. Finally, he said after painting what he thought was his best yet he said “Maybe this time they’ll be proud of me but the only reaction he got when he showed it to them was laughter and belittlement by telling him his painting was absolute junk. His father said, “A dog could paint better than that!” Then his father and mother opened their cans of beer and threw beer all over his painting as they both were laughing hysterically. Victor started crying and shouted out loud “I wish you both were dead!” His parents just laughed even more, and popped another can of beer, chased it down, and then threw their empty cans of beer at him hitting him in the back of the head. Victor ran upstairs to his room crying and angry as hell. He wiped the tears from his face and decided to get out of the house for a while so he could cool down, and get a breath of fresh air. Victor’s parents never took him outside to see the world so he could associate with kids his age, and if that would happen it would probably be kind of frightening to him but at the same time exciting. Victor got on his jacket and marched out of his room down the stairs and as he was heading towards the front door his father said “Where are you going Picasso?” as he laughed and guzzled down another beer. “I’m going out for a while!” and slammed the door behind him. His father got up from the kitchen table with beer in hand then opened the door and yelled out for Victor to get back in the house, but Victor didn’t turn around and just kept on walking. His father yelled out again “Hey Picasso! when you get back home you’re going to get the whipping of your life!” Victor’s mother raised her head off the kitchen table and said to her husband, “Just let him go, and get back in here, and help me finish off the rest of this case of beer, and then we can go upstairs and fool around.” “Sounds good to me and besides he’s just a thorn in our side, and wish we never had a child to have to spend our beer money on.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The night was dark and foggy as the group of teenagers drove down the desolate forest road, their laughter echoing through the thick mist. The car was filled with the smell of beer and the sounds of music blaring from the speakers. They were young and reckless, with no thought of the dangers that lurked in the darkness around them. As they rounded a bend in the road, the car suddenly jolted to a stop. The driver cursed as he realized they had a flat tire. The teenagers groaned in frustration, the carefree atmosphere quickly shifting to one of annoyance and worry. They stumbled out of the car, the fog swirling around them, obscuring their vision. "Well, this is just great," one of the teenagers muttered, kicking at the tire in frustration. "Let's just change it and get out of here," another said, grabbing the spare tire from the trunk. As they worked to change the tire, a strange feeling washed over them. A feeling of dread and unease that made the hairs on the back of their necks stand on end. It was as if the very air around them had grown heavy and oppressive. "What was that?" one of the girls whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of the wind rustling through the trees. The teenagers froze, their hands still on the tire iron and notches. They listened intently, straining to hear any sound that would explain the feeling of unease that lingered in the air. And then they heard it. A low, guttural growl that seemed to come from all around them. The teenagers exchanged terrified glances, their hearts pounding in their chests. "What the hell was that?" one of the boys whispered, his voice quivering with fear. Before anyone could respond, a powerful force slammed into the group, knocking them to the ground. They scrambled to their feet, their eyes wide with terror as they saw the creature that stood before them. It was a monstrosity, standing seven feet tall with sunken, hollow eyes that seemed to pierce through their souls. Its face was twisted into a grotesque grin, its razor-sharp teeth glistening in the moonlight. It emitted a foul stench that made their stomachs churn with dread. The teenagers screamed in terror, their adrenaline-fueled minds racing as they realized they were facing a creature straight out of their worst nightmares. "Run!" one of the teenagers shouted, breaking the spell of fear that had held them in place. They scattered in all directions, their hearts pounding in their chests as they sprinted through the fog-shrouded forest, the creature hot on their heels. Each step they took was filled with terror and desperation, as they tried to outrun the relentless pursuit of the crypted creature. Branches tore at their skin, the ground beneath them slick with mud and leaves. The fog seemed to grow thicker, obscuring their vision and disorienting them as they ran blindly through the dark forest. One by one, the teenagers fell, their screams echoing through the trees as the creature closed in on them with terrifying speed. It seemed to relish the hunt, its twisted grin widening with each victim it claimed.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dan Myers was no ordinary yard sale enthusiast. While others rummaged through piles of dusty trinkets and worn clothing, Dan hunted for something more. He sought the hidden gems, the antiques disguised as clutter. His approach was unconventional. Instead of bargaining over price tags, he'd engage homeowners in conversation, asking if they had any old items they might be willing to part with. This strategy had yielded remarkable results over the years. But Dan's obsession with antiques masked a deeper, darker hunger. Each acquisition filled a void within him, a momentary respite from the gnawing emptiness that threatened to consume him. Little did he know that his insatiable appetite for the arcane would lead him down a path of unspeakable horror. One crisp autumn morning, as the air hung heavy with the scent of decaying leaves, Dan pulled up to a quaint farmhouse. The yard was a treasure trove of the usual yard sale fare, but Dan's eyes were drawn to an elderly woman sitting on her porch, her gaze fixed on a point beyond the horizon. There was an aura of otherworldly calm about her that intrigued Dan, but also sent a shiver down his spine. Her eyes, clouded with cataracts, seemed to pierce through him, as if reading the very essence of his soul. He approached her with his customary charm, suppressing the unease that threatened to overtake him. "Good morning, ma'am," he began, his voice wavering slightly. "Lovely day for a yard sale." The woman turned to him, her eyes holding an ancient wisdom that seemed to transcend time itself. "You have a keen eye, young man," she replied, her voice a soft whisper that carried on the wind like a curse. "But be warned, not all that glitters is gold. Some treasures are best left buried." Dan forced a smile, trying to ignore the way his skin crawled at her words. "I like to think so. I'm always on the lookout for something special." "Perhaps you'll find it here," she said cryptically, gesturing towards the house with a gnarled, trembling hand. "But remember, every object has a history, and some histories are stained with blood." Intrigued and unnerved in equal measure, Dan followed her into the dim interior. The house was filled with the accumulated clutter of a lifetime, but amidst the chaos, he spotted it – a small, ornate chalice resting on a dusty shelf. Its intricate goldwork depicted scenes of ancient rituals and sacrifices, while the deep crimson jewel set in its base seemed to pulse with an unholy light. This was no ordinary piece; it radiated an aura of malevolence that both repelled and attracted him. "That," Dan breathed, pointing at the chalice, his voice barely above a whisper, "that's extraordinary." The old woman nodded, a sardonic smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "It's older than this house," she said, her voice filled with a strange reverence tinged with fear. "It's been in my family for generations, passed down through a lineage steeped in dark arts and forbidden knowledge." A surge of excitement coursed through Dan, mingled with a primal fear he couldn't quite place. This was it. The holy grail of his collection, the piece that would fill the void within him once and for all. He negotiated a price, his hands trembling slightly as he handed over the cash, trying to ignore the old woman's warning gaze. As he turned to leave, he heard a low, almost mirthless chuckle from the old woman. He glanced back at her, but she was simply staring at the empty space where the chalice had been, muttering under her breath in a language he didn't recognize. The words seemed to hang in the air, charged with an otherworldly power that made his skin crawl. He shrugged it off as eccentricity and left, clutching the chalice to his chest like a precious child. But as he drove away, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched, that something ancient and malevolent had turned its gaze upon him. Back home, Dan carefully placed the chalice in his kitchen cabinet, his fingers lingering on its cool surface. That night, his dreams were plagued by visions of ancient rituals, blood-soaked altars, and the screams of countless victims echoing through the ages. He awoke the next morning, drenched in sweat, his heart pounding in his chest. As he stumbled into the kitchen to prepare breakfast, he was stunned to find the chalice sitting on his kitchen table, filled to the brim with a deep red liquid that looked disturbingly like blood.

Book excerpt: Jack was the only living relative left in the family and decided since his great Aunt Hilda's cabin was being neglected, he would put it to use. Jack decided a good idea would be to invite some of his closest friends over for a night of singing and telling ghost stories around a campfire. Jack mailed out invitations to Rhonda, Michael, and Matilda and chose Friday the 13th to set the mood for a spooky night around a campfire at his great Aunt Hilda’s cabin. Jack didn't know the whole story about his great Aunt Hilda. Legend has it that Hilda was an evil Witch who used to live in Salem, Massachusetts, and thought she could escape the witch hunters by living deep in the woods in an isolated area in a small cabin. The Witch hunters weren't about to let Jack's great Aunt Hilda, the most evil Witch get away. The Witch hunters were hot on Hilda's trail and only took about a week to catch up with Hilda because an old farmer who lived near Hilda's cabin noticed some strange things going on in the cabin. When the Witch hunters arrived at the old farmer's home the Witch hunter's asked the old farmer if he noticed any strange things in the area and he replied "Yes, I did notice an old woman with some old book reading from it and when I stopped by her cabin to check on her she started reading some strange words from that book and telling me if I didn't leave, she would cast a spell on me, so I left." That's all the Witch hunters needed to burn this Witch at the stake. The old farmer was happy to lead the witch hunters to the Witch's cabin and watch her burn at the stake. The Witch hunters decided that when they got the Witch they would cut her head off and bury it underneath the cabin's floor with the book. The Witch hunter's torches were blazing and chanting "Burn the Witch, Burn the Witch." The Witch hunters surrounded the cabin and about five of the toughest men rushed inside the cabin and grabbed Hilda by the arms and legs thrusting her out the door of the cabin to the wood chopping block. One of the Witch hunters said, "Do you have anything you want to say before I cut your head off and burn your body at the stake?" Hilda replied, "I will be back someday to seek vengeance on your ancestors." The Witch hunter raised the ax and off rolled Hilda's head off the chopping block. Then the Witch hunters burned her body at the stake and some of the other Witch hunters took her head back to the cabin retrieved the Book of the Dead and buried them both. Jack had no idea the book and his great Aunt Hilda's head were buried beneath the floor of the cabin. This night of singing and storytelling would be a night they all would remember if they all made it out alive.
