It is essential that we remain hedged by God in order to finish & pass 'the' test - our integrity must be maintained throughout the process. At times when we experience 'outer shame from other, like Job we must learn to 'scrape it off'. Throughout this teaching we learn: the importance of choosing our words wisely; to consider our role in the conflict; and to appreciate that as we counsel & pray/believe for others in their time of trouble - so art we to exercise grounded faith during our season in a just manner. When we 'arise' from the ashes we can proclaim with longevity "thou He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:15), and after waiting for our appointed time we will receive double blessings for our trouble!

Book Double for Your Trouble

Download or read book Double for Your Trouble written by Dr. Elizabeth Owonikoko and published by . This book was released on 2016-10-03 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Double for Your Trouble is a testimony of God's faithfulness written to encourage youths, singles, young adults, and everyone that God is still in the business of visiting His children. The urge to share this testimony of how God intervened in my life was born in 2005 when some pastors heard my story and decided I should come to their churches to share it to encourage youths and singles. As individuals, we face diverse challenges in life. One would often think that all is well with my fellow brother/sister or that life has been a bed of roses until they tell you the challenges they are facing. I have learned that letting go of the past and true forgiveness can open incredible doors for one. Also, as Christians we are quick to pray for God to kill all our enemies without consulting with the word of God. The Bible says enemies are our footstool. If God kills them, how would you get to the top? Leave vengeance to God. God said He would prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies, a table with different kinds of blessings. The reason why that thing that you are pursuing has not gotten to you could be that God is preparing something better for you. In the same year, God blessed me with my own husband, gave us visa to relocate to the United States, and I became pregnant with our first baby. God calculated all my wasted years and paid me beyond my imagination. Every individual needs self-assessment every now and then. We need to know who we are and the purpose for which God created us, and align it with our daily living. Serve God faithfully, and you will see God manifesting His faithfulness in your life. It is my earnest prayer that, instead of shame, you will receive double honor; instead of disgrace, you will rejoice in your inheritance and you will inherit a double portion in your land; and everlasting joy will be yours, in Jesus's name. Amen.

Book Double Click for Trouble

Download or read book Double Click for Trouble written by Chris Woodworth and published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR). This book was released on 2015-04-28 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Eddie McCall is a good kid. He does his homework, picks up around the house, and cooks dinner for his single mom when she has to work late at a Chicago hotel. Then Eddie's best friend, Whip, shows him a printout from the Internet- a picture of an honest-to-gosh naked woman-and suddenly Eddie can't seem to think about anything else. He knows his mom will be upset if she sees the sites he's visiting. Still, he doesn't expect her to ship him off to her hometown of Sheldon, Indiana, to live with his great-uncle Peavey for an entire month. Peavey isn't exactly the father figure thirteen-year-old Eddie's been looking for. He spits tobacco juice into a can, calls a toilet a "commode," and certainly doesn't own a computer. As it turns out, however, both Peavey McCall and Sheldon, Indiana, hold some very surprising secrets . . . The author captures two worlds in this tender and funny look at a boy learning what it really means to be a man.
