Download or read book Future proof Your Child written by Graeme Codrington and published by Penguin Random House South Africa. This book was released on 2012-10-19 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This world has changed. The future has changed. Childhood is changing. Raising children has never been more challenging - or potentially rewarding. It is becoming increasingly obvious that the world into which our young children will enter as adults, somewhere between 2020 and 2030, will be nothing like the world their parents grew up in, or even the world we currently inhabit. We need a better understanding of the world of the future in order to prepare our children and to 'future-proof' them. Future-proof Your Child is a very different kind of parenting book. It contains many useful, practical hints and tips but also focuses on the context for parenting and child development today. It convinces 21st-century parents of the need to change their approach to parenting future generations and is relevant, accessible, practical and inspirational. Future-proof Your Child highlights the critical importance of making choices, having conversations and consciously connecting with tomorrow's children today.

Download or read book The Psychology of Fear and Stress written by Jeffrey Alan Gray and published by CUP Archive. This book was released on 1987 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do human emotions arise, what functions do they serve, what is their evolutionary background, how do they relate to behaviour and the brain? These questions are put, and answered, in relation to the emotion of fear in this, the second edition of professor Gray's extremely well known book, first published in 1971. In this edition, the text has been extensively modified and brought up-to-date, but the book maintains the style and general argument of the first edition. The author's approach in this book is from a biological standpoint; he emphasises the evidence that has accumulated from experiments by psychologists, ethologists, physiologists and endocrinologists. Although a lot of this evidence has been obtained from animal studies, it throws light on the psychology and physiology of fear in Man. Differences between individuals in their susceptibility to fear are treated with as much attention as the common factors are.

The COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years has influenced how educational system works. Online learning became the primal policy taken by all institutions in the world to lower the risk of the virus spread. Despite the drawbacks of the online learning, teachers and students were accustomed with the distant learning through web meetings, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other online learning platforms. In that time, topics under digital learning and education 5.0 were the main stakes in academic disseminations. This year some institutions start to conduct their teaching and learning process classically as before the pandemic, others are still continuing online and not few are in hybrid. This leaves a question: what learning reform should be made in post-pandemic era? This conference invites researchers, experts, teachers and students to discuss the coping solutions of the question. It is important for them to contribute to the understanding of re-imaging online education for better futures, innovative learning design, new skills for living and working in new times, global challenge of education, learning and teaching with blended learning, flipped learning, integrating life skills for students in the curriculum, developing educators for the future distance learning, humanities learning in the digital era, assessment and measurement in education, challenges and transformations in education, technology in teaching and learning, new learning and teaching models. Not limited to these, scholars may add another interesting topic related to learning reform in post-pandemic era to present.
