Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everyone knows the feeling: you're trapped in an endless meeting or held hostage on the phone by a droning client. Or maybe the minutes are just ticking by very slowly. What can you do? Doodle, of course! Susan McBride--who put some fun in kids' schooldays with The Don't Get Caught Doodle Notebook and The I'm So Bored Doodle Notebook--now comes to the aid of adults who need a break from the daily grind. Though this humorous interactive book looks like an everyday planner--complete with charts and graphs to confuse anyone who sneaks a peek--it's really a little bit of subversive escapism. That's because inside are dozens of creative ways to doodle, including warm-ups to unleash your inner artist. Vent pent-up aggressions with voodoodling. Illustrate what your co-workers--from the lunch stealer to the obnoxiously perky intern--look like through your keen eyes. Explore the "Lame Excuses Hall of Fame." There's even a little "doodling analysis" provided--so you can find out what your art really means.

Book Proving Election Fraud

    Book Details:
  • Author : Richard Charnin
  • Publisher : AuthorHouse
  • Release : 2010-03-25
  • ISBN : 1452006660
  • Pages : 460 pages

Download or read book Proving Election Fraud written by Richard Charnin and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010-03-25 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2004, John Kerry appeared to be a clear winner based on the exit polls. But the recorded vote counts deviated sharply from the polls and were too one-sided to attribute to mere chance. The political pundits claimed the polls “behaved badly”, calling the three million Bush margin a “mandate”. They failed to report the impossible late adjustments made to the National, Florida and Ohio exit polls that were necessary to force them to match the recorded vote. Spreadsheet-wielding Internet bloggers analyzed the statistical anomalies. Online election forums were aflame with debates about state and national pre-election and exit polls, Bush approval ratings, margins of error, non-response, past vote recall, correlation between vote swing from 2000 and the exit poll shift, the counter-intuitive Bush gain over his 2000 vote share in urban locations compared to the decline in rural areas (the "Urban Legend"). But the “Smoking Gun” was the Final National Exit Poll, which indicated that there were four million more returning Bush 2000 voters than were alive in 2004. This “phantom voter” anomaly has never been discussed by pundits in the media or political scientists in academia, even though similar anomalies occurred in 1988, 1992 and 2008. The media pundits still claim that the recorded vote is correct (and the exit polls wrong) despite millions of uncounted votes in every election. This book is a comprehensive resource for analyzing presidential elections from 1968 to 2008, including the 2006 midterms. It is written for readers of virtually all backgrounds. The only requirement is an inquisitive, open mind. The True Vote is estimated using basic statistical modeling that is for some reason avoided in the media and academia. Internet links to several election analysis spreadsheet models are provided in the book and are free to download.

Book The Western League

Download or read book The Western League written by W.C. Madden and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2002-04-11 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the first minor leagues in history, the Western League (previously the Northwestern League) was founded by Ban Johnson in 1885 and was the predecessor of today's American League. The Western League endured a season to season existence until Johnson created the American League and the Western continued to be a part of the minors, employing such future Hall of Famers as Charles Comiskey, Dizzy Dean, and Connie Mack. The league's demise in the minors came in the 1950s, but it was revived in 1995 as an independent league on the West Coast with no relation to the majors. This work begins with an introduction to the Western League and documents the history of the Western and the American leagues from 1885 through 1999. Included are photographs of teams and players who participated in the league and in-depth team and individual player statistics.

Book excerpt: This explosive, award-winning novella of growing up in colonial Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), told in exquisite, imaginative prose, touches the readers nerve through the authors harrowing portrait of lives disrupted by white settlers, a young disillusioned black man, and individual suffering in the 1960s and 1970s. Marecheras raw, piercing writings secured his place in African literature as a stylistic innovator and rebel commentator of the ghetto condition. While The House of Hunger is the centerpiece of this collection, readers are also treated to a series of short sketches in which Marechera, with angry humor, further navigates themes of madness, violence, despair, and survival.

Book Stickman Odyssey Book 1

Download or read book Stickman Odyssey Book 1 written by Christopher Ford and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2011-08-04 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Zozimos is banished by an evil witch (his stepmother!) from the kingdom of Sticatha-the kingdom he was next in line to rule-he trains at battle (if you call chasing after butterflies training), travels across stormy seas (thanks for that, Poseidon), slays golems and monsters (with a lot of help), charms beautiful women (not really), and somehow (despite his own ineptitude) survives quest after quest. By the love of Zeus, though, none of it brings him any closer to home! It does, however, make for one quirky, original, giggle-provoking graphic novel sure to appeal to any kid interested in Greek mythology, or merely looking for an entertaining read.
