Download or read book It Doesn t Hurt to be Nice written by Amisha Sethi and published by Sristhi Publishers & Distributors. This book was released on 2015-09 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kiara is a dynamic, thirty-something girl who has reached great heights professionally, and is the apple of the eye for almost everyone who knows her. But she never took any short cuts to become happier, wiser, healthier and more compassionate. She had to find rays of hope where the dark tunnel seemed unending, and identify shade in life's burning path. She found little pearls of wisdom in chasing her dreams, in spreading laughter, in learning from scriptures and philosophers, and even at one point in almost ending her life. More than Kiara's story and the wisdom she achieves through the various dramatic and hilarious experiences, this book is a motion picture with you in the lead role. You as the 'hero' who can beat the most stubborn of villains — most of which lie deep within us…our fear, unkindness, selfish interests, negative thoughts and jealousy. You as the 'heroine' who is sharp and witty in talking, selfless and caring in love, and charming and beautiful inside out, like none other (perhaps a 2.0 version of you). Walk with Kiara to find a better you, because It Doesn't Hurt to be Nice.

Download or read book Shangri La 730 s Last Flight written by Skot Keller and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2020-11-25 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shangri-La730’s Last Flight By: Skot Keller Shangri-La730’s Last Flight iz inspired by Malaysia Flight 370, which went missing on March 8th, 2014; it has never been found and remains a mystery az to what happened to it. The people on the Malaysia plane are assumed to be dead, and the people on Shangri-La 730 do not come away mortally alive either. Rest assured that there iz a happy ending for everyone. When an Australian engineer has an idea that he sends out in a mass email about a theory that will lead to a scientific breakthrough, it makes an alien race called the sigla nervous, and they try to squash the idea by commandeering Shangri-La flight 730 in flight. There are humans, extraterrestrials, az well az angels all involved with what happens aboard the plane. This iz importantly a Christian piece of fiction, not factual or scripturally based. Some questions that are explored are: If there are intelligent extraterrestrials, do they have a relation with GOD like humans have a relation with GOD, and how are their spiritual beliefs related to mankind’s? Their GOD and the Christian GOD must be the same because the Creator created everything. Other questions are considered, e.g.: What iz the purpose of life? What iz eternal life without perfection, and what iz perfection? What happens to good people who have not accepted Jesus, Yeshua, as their Savior, Lord, and Master? Do animals have souls? Hopefully those who read Shangri-La 730’s Last Flight will come away with an uplifting feeling that there iz a perfect plan working its way out in its perfection and a hopeful belief that they can be reunited with all they love in GOD.

Download or read book The Lost Tiki Palaces of Detroit written by Michael Zadoorian and published by Wayne State University Press. This book was released on 2009-03-27 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A quirky and compelling collection of short stories set in and around Detroit, by award-winning local writer Michael Zadoorian. In The Lost Tiki Palaces of Detroit Michael Zadoorian follows characters coming to terms with the past and the present in a broken city. Rusty, ornery, and down at the heels, Zadoorian’s characters have made the wrong choices, been worn down by bad news, or survived traumatic events, but like the city they live in, they are determined not to let tragedy and rotten luck define them. Rich with detail and brimming with feeling, Zadoorian’s deceptively simple stories lead readers into the inner lives of those making the best of their flawed surroundings and their own imperfections. Zadoorian’s stories are drawn from the everyday events that come to define his characters’ lives. A woman responsible for putting down animals at a veterinary clinic travels to Mexico to stage a ritual for her victims, a veteran returns a flag stolen from a Japanese soldier he killed in World War II, an elderly couple takes a final road trip to a mystery spot out west, and a man spends his life waiting to inherit his parents’ kitschy 1960s furniture but instead sells it all. Characters also find their lives shaped by seemingly random occurrences, like the junk shop owner who must stop the stranger with a vendetta against him, the woman who becomes obsessed with her in-laws’ talking dog, and the urban spelunker who finds love and acceptance with a reader of his blog. Their close connection to Detroit also infuses Zadoorian’s stories with themes significant to the city, including issues of racial tension, political unease, and economic hardship. Zadoorian’s writing throughout this collection is clear and vivid, never getting in the way of his characters or their stories. The unique but relatable characters and unexpected stories in The Lost Tiki Palaces of Detroit will appeal to all readers of fiction.
