Book The Lost Remnant

Download or read book The Lost Remnant written by Randall Floyd and published by Randall Floyd. This book was released on 2020-10-03 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Don’t read this book. Not if you want to maintain your protected status as an ignorant human. The truth wouldn’t make any sense, anyways. It would just melt your brain, cause you to involuntarily assume the fetal position (and mumble things about butterflies and rainbows), turn you into a depressed and colorful pile of goo, and make you wish you were a dung beetle. You’ll definitely be happier with your current idea of what’s real, and no one likes to be a pile of goo, no matter the color. Believe me, I’ve asked several former-humans-now-piles of goo. Hopefully this is enough to dissuade you from reading further. Actually, I would wager three nacho-flavored jackalopes that you’ll stop reading this book description right now. … … … If you’re still reading this, I have one question for you? Why? You should have moved on to another book already. Haven’t I been clear? Turn back now, while you still have a choice. Once you read this book, and you find out the truth about … … them … ... they will hunt you and they will find you. You won’t even know you’ve been ensnared by their magic. You will never be the same. And you may end up like James Peters. ... 5 years after his father disappeared, James was still puzzled. The authorities had pronounced his father dead months after he'd vanished, but James knew he was still alive, he could feel it in his bones. It’s just that no one believes a 13-year-old. Then, someone turned up … … someone James had forgotten. He was the only person around when James’ dad vanished, and the guy doesn’t want to have anything to do with James. But there’s more. Weird things happen around the man. Things that shouldn’t. Things that look an awful lot like magic. Will James figure out what happened to his father? Or will he end up suffering the same fate? If you purchase this book to find out it may be the last sane thing you ever do. Get it now. But don't say you haven't been warned.

Even Echo can’t remember the whole truth. But when bad boy Noah Hutchins explodes into her life, Echo’s world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. CROSSING THE LINE Lila McCormick first met Lincoln Turner when tragedy struck both their lives. But she never expected their surprise encounter would lead to two years of exchanging letters—or that she’d fall for the boy she’s only seen once. DARE YOU TO If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk’s home life, they’d send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. But when Beth finds herself starting over at a school, she can’t help but confide in the one person who shouldn’t understand her, but inexplicably does—the town’s golden boy, Ryan Stone. CRASH INTO YOU Rachel Young is the girl with straight A’s and the perfect life…or at least that’s what everyone expects her to be. Download or read book Curating Access written by Amanda Cachia and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2022-09-14 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an interdisciplinary collection of twenty-four essays which critically examine contemporary exhibitions and artistic practices that focus on conceptual and creative aspects of access. Oftentimes exhibitions tack on access once the artwork has already been executed and ready to be installed in the museum or gallery. But what if the artists were to ponder access as an integral and critical part of their artwork? Can access be creative and experimental? And furthermore, can the curator also fold access into their practice, while working collaboratively with artists, considering it as a theoretical and practical generative force that seeks to make an exhibition more engaging for a wider diversity of audiences? This volume includes essays by a growing number of artists, curators, and scholars who ponder these ideas of ad-hoc, experimental and underground approaches within exhibition-making and artistic practices. It considers how, through these nascent exhibition models and art practices, enhanced experiences of access in the museum can be a shared responsibility amongst museum workers, curators, and artists, in tandem with the public, so that access becomes a zone of intellectual and creative "accommodation," rather than strictly a discourse on policy. The book provides innovative case studies which provide a template for how access might be implemented by individuals, artists, curators, museum administrators and educators given the growing need to offer as many modalities of access as possible within cultural institutions. This book shows that anyone can be a curator of access and demonstrates how to approach access in a way that goes beyond protocol and policy. It will thus be of interest to students and scholars engaged in the study of museums, art history and visual culture, disability, culture, and communication.

Book Nations of Nothing But Poetry

Download or read book Nations of Nothing But Poetry written by Matthew Hart and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2010-04-22 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modernism is typically associated with novelty and urbanity. So what happens when poets identify small communities and local languages with the spirit of transnational modernity? Are vernacular poetries inherently provincial or implicitly xenophobic? How did modernist poets use vernacular language to re-imagine the relations between people, their languages, and the communities in which they live? Nations of Nothing But Poetry answers these questions through case studies of British, Caribbean, and American poetries from the 1920s through the 1990s. With a combination of fresh insights and attentive close readings, Matthew Hart presents a new theory of a "synthetic vernacular"-writing that explores the aesthetic and ideological tensions within modernism's dual commitments to the local and the global. The result is an invigorating contribution to the field of transnational modernist studies. Chapters focus on a mixture of canonical and non-canonical writers, combining new literary histories--such as the story of how Melvin B. Tolson, while a resident of Oklahoma, was appointed Poet Laureate of Liberia--with analyses of poems by Gertrude Stein, W. H. Auden, Ezra Pound, and T. S. Eliot. More broadly, the book reveals how the language of modernist poetry was shaped by the incompletely globalized nature of a world in which the nation-state continued to be a primary mediator of cultural and political identity, even as its authority was challenged as never before. Through deft juxtaposition, Hart develops a new interpretation of modernist poetry in English-one that disrupts the critical opposition between nationalism and the transnational, paving the way for a political history of modernist cosmopolitanism.

She likes her boss, Josiah Campbell, too - that is, until the old schemer shoves her through the Blackstone familys big secret; the Blackstone Gate! Tumbling through the Gate into 1760, Brenna lands in Lord Angus Blackstones bed, an alarming and distressing development for both of them. He finds this intrusive. He finds this annoying. He finds the Gate interfering in whether or not theres a woman in his life more than a little aggravating. Brenna, in turn, thinks that Angus is an incredibly hostile, insensitive, uncaring, sarcastic, and boorish fellow. Shes also just a little offended by the Blackstone familys expectation that because she came through the gate she must therefore be there to marry Angus, the current Earl. The fact that the Gate wont let her go back through to her own proper time doesnt make her very happy either. Determined as they are to dislike each other, they begin working together, looking through the Blackstone family records, searching for a way to get Brenna back home again. What they dont find is anything helpful. What they do find is a very mutual attraction. Troubles beset them on that front as well. Anguss first wife, now deceased, left him bitter, and wary of women. While Angus knows that Brenna didnt want to come through the Gate and upset his routine, or turn his lonely but safe world topsy-turvy, can he trust her with his two little daughters? Can he trust her with his own heart? Brennas childhood prepared her to refuse to trust herself or anyone else. Can she trust Angus to even be trustworthy? Can she trust herself to be a good wife to him? Can she trust herself to be a good mother to his daughters? If youve read Rev. Robitilles first novel In One Years Time, look here for answers, if you havent, the book stands alone beautifully.
