Book excerpt: Don't Let It Happen is a life saving resource, designed to assist parents in detecting when their children are involved in an activity that can be harmful to themselves and/or other family members. Far too often, we take note when a young adult engages in harmful behavior, but we may not realize the broader impact their actions can have. As I will point out throughout this book, a young adult's actions can mean the difference between life and death for an entire family. This book is primarily for law-abiding citizens trying to raise their children and support their families. I hope it acts as a life raft in a sea of confusion. Read it and take the first steps toward personal safety for you and your children. Was it an al-Qaeda or ISIS agent that finally killed Chad or was it really an accident as reported by the D.C. police? His longtime FBI partner Reynolds and new FBI hire Padilla were cleaning out Chad’s apartment when they found documents of large investments in pharmaceutical companies by Washington D.C.'s prominent people and also documents of a viral attack. Was this information mailed to Chad that led to his murder? Then a mysterious call about a murder of an investment clerk in New York City shortly after the investment documents were mailed to Chad proved that the information was related to his murder. Identifying the investment clerk’s and Chad’s killers as the same individuals led Reynolds and FBI rookie Padilla to a beautiful Russian Research Assistant in a major US university. She had been placed there by a Russian oligarch to develop and release a virus in the United States. The Research Assistant turned witness but was quickly kidnapped by Russian Agents from an FBI safehouse in D.C. She was rescued by Reynolds and Padilla only to be kidnapped again by the same Russian agents while Reynolds and Padilla were out of country now capturing Chad’s killers in Canada. Will they rescue her a second time? Read the conclusion of “We Won’t Let It Happen” to find out the end of this exciting story.

Download or read book Don Laws written by Beverly Ann Menke and published by Scarecrow Press. This book was released on 2012-10-12 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the 1984 Olympics, American Scott Hamilton skated into the history books when he claimed a gold medal in Sarajevo. Beside him the entire time was his coach, Don Laws. A member of the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame and a U.S. Junior Champion, Laws is one of the most respected and admired ice skating coaches in the world. In addition to Hamilton, Don was the coach of champions Michael Weiss and Patrick Chan. This authorized biography tells the story of Law’s exemplary life and chronicles his singular dedication to figure skating. Don Laws: The Life of an Olympic Figure Skating Coach recounts Don’s youth, from his childhood in Washington, D.C. to his Junior Men’s Figure Skating Championship to his triumphs as a coach on the international stage. Featuring personal interviews with many of his former pupils, this humorous and enlightening biography captures Don’s dedication to the sport and to his students. In addition, this book goes behind the scenes of the controversial new judging system—for which Laws was one of only four coaches worldwide to take part in its creation—as well as touches upon the break between Don Laws and his star pupil, Patrick Chan. Including exclusive interviews with Scott Hamilton, Michael Weiss, premier Russian coach Tamara Moskvina, former International Skating Union member Sonia Bianchetti, and current ISU President Ottavio Cinquanta, this book is a one-of-a-kind look at a man who never broke from his beliefs and ideals and never wavered in his love for the sport. A chapter devoted to skating techniques laid out by Laws will be a helpful tool for figure skating coaches; but for the figure skater, and for any fan of the sport, it will be the stories, interviews, photographs, and history that make this book entertaining and inspiring.
Download or read book The Black Books Slipcased Edition Vol Seven Volume Set written by C. G. Jung and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2020-10-13 with total page 1648 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Until now, the single most important unpublished work by C.G. Jung—The Black Books. In 1913, C.G. Jung started a unique self- experiment that he called his “confrontation with the unconscious”: an engagement with his fantasies in a waking state, which he charted in a series of notebooks referred to as The Black Books. These intimate writings shed light on the further elaboration of Jung’s personal cosmology and his attempts to embody insights from his self- investigation into his life and personal relationships. The Red Book drew on material recorded from 1913 to 1916, but Jung actively kept the notebooks for many more decades. Presented in a magnificent, seven-volume boxed collection featuring a revelatory essay by noted Jung scholar Sonu Shamdasani—illuminated by a selection of Jung’s vibrant visual works—and both translated and facsimile versions of each notebook, The Black Books offer a unique portal into Jung’s mind and the origins of analytical psychology.
