He’ll do anything to prove to Faith that he’s changed…and she’s the reason why. Exquisite Sand It's about to get hot in the kitchen… Stacy Frederick’s rebuilt her life after the death of her husband, but her wrecked heart isn’t ready to love again. Even her intense attraction to celebrity chef William Blackwell, who’s spending the summer in Ocean Sands, can’t change her mind. She has other things to keep her busy, like saving the floundering restaurant where she works, and consequently securing the promotion that’s been dangled in front of her. William says he can respect Stacy’s boundaries. In Ocean Sands recovering after a battle of his own, he’s under strict orders to rest and recover. Spending a few weeks helping an old friend is just the distraction he needs. Praise for the verse of K. V. Dominic "K. V. Dominic is one of the most vibrant Indian English poets whose intense passion for the burning social and national ailments makes him a disciple of Ezekielean School of poetry. His poetic passion for the natural beauty keeps him besides the Romanticists." -- Dr. A. K. Choudhary, English poet, critic and editor, Professor of English, Assam, India "K. V. Dominic?s poems are important additions to the growing global movement to bring about positive change and equality for all individuals. The injustices he confronts in his poems are the arrows and thorns that pierce his heart every day and the gushing blood that runs through his pen to paper." -- Rob Harle, poet and critic, Nimbin, Australia "K. V. Dominic is a poet of the suffering masses and oppressed sections of the society. He tries to dissect corruption at all levels, political or religious, social or academic and presents it in its true colours with all the ugliness and monstrous greed." --Prof. T. V. Book Saint Dominic Savio

  • Pages : 32 pages

Download or read book Saint Dominic Savio written by Andrea Helen Smith and published by . This book was released on 2020-02-10 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dominic Savio was born April 2, 1842, to a humble Italian family. From a young age, Dominic exhibited an unusual love for God. He was even allowed to make his First Holy Communion at seven rather than the normal age of twelve. However, we might know very little about his life if not for his mentor, St. John Bosco, who accepted Dominic into his school, the "Oratory of St. Francis de Sales," and who later wrote his biography. At the school, Dominic flourished intellectually and spiritually. Sadly, his health was fragile, and at the age of fifteen, on March 9, 1857, he died. He left behind an example of a happy, holy life. He also, indirectly, contributed to the creation of St. John Bosco's congregation of Salesians, which still exists worldwide today. Nine months before he died, Dominic formed the "Society of Mary Immaculate," through which he and the other members dedicated themselves to Christ and His Blessed Mother. Except for Dominic, all of the founding members became the first Salesian priests. This paper doll set highlights moments in Dominic's childhood as he serves at Mass, makes his First Holy Communion, visits the Blessed Sacrament, builds a Marian altar, studies, plays with his friends, and works hard to grow in holiness. This set includes 1 Saint Dominic doll (9" tall), 11 costumes, and over 40 accessories. This book was published through Amazon KDP. The paper weight is slightly thicker than ordinary printer paper. The paper weight is the same for both doll/s and costume/s. The artist recommends backing the doll/s with cardstock if a thicker doll is desired (the doll and costumes function perfectly without the added thickness, however).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: [Siren ManLove: Erotic Romance, Alternative, Paranormal, Ménage a Trois, Shape-shifters, MM/MMM, HEA] The Coolest Prince of Cats- Chane Taunton is running out of time. He’s not a warrior. He’s a monk…well, ex-monk. And herbalist. Neither qualifies him to capture a deranged vampire. Unfortunately, to keep his brother and friends safe, he must try. He just has to set the right trap. Of course, this is made even more difficult with the arrival of his brother, Archie, who keeps following Chane from coven to coven spiking Chane’s drinks and placing himself in danger. When the trap fails, again, Chane is saved by a gorgeous, big feline shifter, Dominic Sanchez, who declares Chane is his mate. Due to an accident, Chane is unable to immediately scent the shifter as mate, but Dom is adamant and sets out to woo Chane, soothing the vampire’s many ruffles and discovering all his secrets. With an assassin on the loose and gunning for them, Dom has his work cut out for him. Luckily he has a lot of crafty shifters and the mate pull on his side. Interspecies Public Relations Officer Wizard Tudor Masters was working toward leaving his old coven when he had the misfortune of overhearing a Senator conspiring against the Council. Going into hiding, he ends up at the Armstrong coven, where he runs into a gorgeous wolf who denies they’re mates, and a fae prince who saves Tudor from vampires. Caspar Morgan is scouting locations to relocate his fae guild. What he finds is a gorgeous wolf shifter who, instead of happily claiming Cas, bolts in the other direction and denies that Cas (and a smart wizard in danger from three different factions) are his mates. While Luka, a very uniquely gifted wolf, flirts and keeps his distance emotionally, Tudor remains quiet and watchful and smells like cinnamon and ice cream. Cas will protect his mates, wait them out, lust after both, and put up with Luka’s numerous friends and family members who feel it necessary to stick their noses in and cause more chaos than help.

Book Collaborative Anthropology Today

Download or read book Collaborative Anthropology Today written by Dominic Boyer and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2021-01-15 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As multisited research has become mainstream in anthropology, collaboration has gained new relevance and traction as a critical infrastructure of both fieldwork and theory, enabling more ambitious research designs, forms of communication, and analysis. Collaborative Anthropology Today is the outcome of a 2017 workshop held at the Center for Ethnography, University of California, Irvine. This book is the latest in a trilogy that includes Fieldwork Is Not What It Used to Be and Theory Can Be More Than It Used to Be. Dominic Boyer and George E. Marcus assemble several notable ventures in collaborative anthropology and put them in dialogue with one another as a way of exploring the recent surge of interest in creating new kinds of ethnographic and theoretical partnerships, especially in the domains of art, media, and information. Contributors highlight projects in which collaboration has generated new possibilities of expression and conceptualizations of anthropological research, as well as prototypes that may be of use to others contemplating their own experimental collaborative ventures.

Book The Medieval Cult of Saint Dominic of Silos

Download or read book The Medieval Cult of Saint Dominic of Silos written by Anthony Lappin and published by MHRA. This book was released on 2002 with total page 464 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lucas, the garrulous bishop of Tuy, included the thaumaturgy of Saint Dominic of Silos as one of the glories of Spain in his mid-thirteenth-century account of the Peninsula's history. This study examines the rise to prominence of one of the most important of saints' cults in Medieval Spain and its development throughout the Middle Ages. It interrogates neglected texts such as the late eleventh-century Vita Dominici Exiliensis and the late thirteenth-century Miraculos romancados (as well as artistic representations and works written outside Silos), and places the more widely known Vida de Santo Domingo by Gonzalo de Berceo (c. 1260) in a new light by firmly fixing its presentation of the saint within the development of the cult. Dominic's veneration became centred upon his role in freeing captives, and a study of this phenomenon provides a focus on the frontier and its settlers through their devotion to the saint, as well as illuminating their view of their Muslim adversaries. This is not the only centre of interest in the book, and a variety of approaches are employed to draw as round a picture as possible of the functioning of this saint's cult, from analysis of the manuscript traditions of the various works discussed to a consideration of the anthropology of Silos as a pilgrimage centre. All quotations are given in both Latin or Romance with an English translation.

Book Philosophical Musings for a Meaningful Life

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ÿInside one of Contemporary India's most Influential Poets The twenty-four papers inÿPhilosophical Musings for a Meaningful Lifeÿstudy the poetry collectionsWinged Reasonÿ(2010),ÿWrite Son, Writeÿ(2011), andÿMulticultural Symphonyÿ(2014), of Dr. K.V. Dominic and reveal his humanistic values and concept of universal brotherhood, his social criticism devoid of absurdity and obscurity, his profound concern for the marginalized sections of society, and his reverence for Nature. All the papers focus on the poet's anguish at the evils and the inhuman attitude prevalent in the society and necessitate harmony of existence. In the context of Indian English poetry, the papers find Dominic to be unique in his use of simple and plain language to address the vast canvass of human life and the neglected segment of human society. Further, the papers bring out how the universal appeal of Dominic lies in his ability to view the world as a sanctuary and acknowledge him as the promising voice of the present century for his belief in the interrelatedness of all lives that ascertains positive change in the individuals. Dr. S. Kumaran, Editor, is working as an Assistant Professor in the Postgraduate & Research Department of English, Thiruvalluvar Government Arts College, Rasipuram. He is Associate Editor of two refereed international biannual journals,ÿWriters Editors Criticsÿ(WEC) andÿInternational Journal on Multicultural Literatureÿ(IJML); and a Member of the Editorial Boards of various journals from India and abroad. "This critical study on the poetry of Dr. K.V. Dominic deserves to be read closely for evaluation and to be on the shelf of every notable library.ÿPhilosophical Musings for a Meaningful Lifeÿwill inspire scholars from the West to find rubies and diamonds in the Indian poetry of today." --Dr. Stephen Gill, Poet Laureate of Ansted University "K.V. Dominic's social consciousness is his chief forte. Not for a moment does he divert attention from the simple and innocent activities of ordinary human beings. From his lyrics originate feelings of eternal sympathy, peace, and fraternal unity." --P.C.K.
